VCA MacArthur Animal Hospital

I had an A++ experience here. I adopted two kittens a couple days ago from Homeward Trails, and Homeward Trails referred me to this animal hospital. Booking an appointment was easy. I was checked in right away at the start of my appointment time, and I did not wait long in the examination room for the doctor. Everyone was so friendly and seemed happy to be working there. The vet tech and doctor were patient and gentle yet quick and efficient with my kitties. The doctor was very knowledgeable and gave me excellent personalized advice. They also sent me home with some goodies, including food and toys, to help get me started as a new pet owner. I highly recommend this animal hospital to anyone!

We have been taking our cat Gandalf to VCA MacArthur for a couple of years now and they honestly treat him like family. Dr. Myers is so attentive, empathetic, and patient. We never feel rushed by her. Jackie on the care team is a cat whisperer and Gandalf adores her. Jeffrey at the front desk is so friendly and helpful. From start to finish, your four legged baby will be in the best of hands.

I’ve been bringing my dog here for the last 5 years. Everyone is always friendly and helpful. It isn’t the cheapest vet but I trust the level of care to my pet.

Went for a first puppy appointment and could not be more happy with the service I received! After confusing the date of my appointment, the staff (Jeffrey in particular) went above and beyond in helping us be seen despite this. All those we encountered during our visit were professional and extremely helpful. Doctor Frisch was very helpful in providing information and tips for my new pup and answered any and all questions I had. We look forward to continuing getting our veterinary care from this clinic!

Dr. Myers was incredibly thorough, warm and kind. Usually you are rushed out of the office at other practices but she gave a full hour to the appointment and I left with all my questions answered for my dog’s rather complex case (food and environmental allergies, vaccine boosters, referral to oncology). All other staff that came in contact with my dog were very loving and gentle—you could tell it was sincere.

I HIGHLY recommend this practice and Dr. Myers in general.

My previous vet was so far away from where I live, I decided to find one that's closer to me and my search led me to this office. My first time here went very smoothly and all of the staff were super kind. I have a 19 year old cat, Spunky, and I always have anxiety when I have to take him in, especially when it's a brand new vet. We saw Dr. Myers and she was wonderful. Very kind and very willing to listen to my concerns and be very thorough in her explanation of treatment options. Very glad I switched to this vet!

This VCA is amazing! Brought our new puppy in and were treated so well. Dr. Friesh is FABULOUS. Takes the time to explain and truly listens to your questions. Another plus is its in Georgetown. Pretty easy to get to from Arlington. Definitely recommend VCA MacArthur.😀❤👍

Love this place! I don't know where to start about how wonderful their team is. We came here with our 2mo old kitten Link after a poor experience at another hospital, stressed and concerned about his health. As soon as we walked through the door, the receptionists greeted us warmly. Jeffrey got everything set up for our appointment in no time at all and we were seen within just a few minutes.

The best part of the experience by far was how gentle our technician was with Link. He came in agitated and nervous, but she made sure to shower him with a ton of love. Even while he was being given a shot of fluids to stay hydrated, she stayed there with him the whole time, petting him and talking to make sure he was comfortable. I've never heard a cat purr so much during a doctors visit! (I really regret not remembering her name =(! )

Dr. Courtney also seemed very knowledgeable about everything that was going on. She informed us of all the options on how best to look after Link, laid out the cost of everything, and overall showed a lot of concern for his wellbeing. She and our technician at the time made this visit so easy and pleasant. We'll definitely be bringing our cats back to them again. Thank you guys for everything you do!

Knowledgeable staff and vets! They’ve done a great job at taking care of both my dogs.

If you’re going to use them as your go-to vet for everything, I recommend enrolling your pups in the VCA CareClub. Depending on the dog it’s $50-$80 a month but it covers all the routine puppy check-ups, shots, vaccines, and some other things as well.

They started offering grooming as well, however, I can’t speak to their quality. For my standard poodle (65lbs), I was quoted around $80-$100.

The doctors and staff take excellent care of Murphy. Dr. Elkins is great with our puppy and goes the extra mile to provide us with additional information and tips on how to raise a healthy golden retriever.

Our pup loves visiting, he rushes up the stairs to say hello to all of his friends at the VCA.

Great service from informed professionals who care for your pet. I was in and out in under an hour for an annual physical and rabies vaccine for my cat. My cat was pretty upset and anxious to be in a new place, but Charity was very gentle with her and conducted as much of the exam as possible with her still in the carrier. Dr. Murphy answered all of my questions thoroughly and both she and Charity were very kind to my cat.

Had such a positive experience here yesterday. I needed to find a local vet for my pup so he could get checked out again after an emergency hospital visit a week prior. I decided to bring him to MacArthur after reading all of the great reviews.

From the moment we arrived until the second we left, the staff here was so concerned, attentive, welcoming, and kind. We arrived about 20 minutes early and the front desk staff immediately started the process to check us in and then took us back to see the doctor. They were so helpful!

When it was time to see the doctor, I had a million questions and Dr. Ottinger took his time to answer each one (and even asked if I was sure I didn't have more haha!)

Don't hesitate to make an appointment here! You and your pet will be in great hands!

A few months ago, my daughter and I bought a new puppy. We've been bringing Mocha to VCA MacArthur for all of his vet needs. The staff are very caring and nice. Mocha's vet, Dr. Elkins, and the vet assistants are so sweet with him and are extremely knowledgeable. Mocha loves coming here to be seen. He was recently neutered by Dr. Frisch and she did a great job. I highly recommend this vet hospital to others. We have always had a positive experience and Jeffrey, who mans the front desk, always has a smile on his face and happily greets all incoming clients. Overall, the staff are great and I know Mocha is in good hands here. I wouldn't take him anywhere else.

I want to thank the doctors and staff for doing an exceptional job. I had to bring my dog here for the most unfortunate reason and I was welcomed with the most warm and loving care I could ever ask for. I was a wreck, so much so I couldn't express myself clearly with words but the doctors were caring, clear, concise, and respectful with all the options available. Bless you guys...... love you Mash

Love them!!!! They have been taking care of my baby Bernard for years. Always excited to come and plenty of parking on the street.

My husband and I really appreciate how great Dr.Elkins is with our pup. Little Theo, our puppy, LOVES Dr. Elkins. She is so tender with him and very kind to us. The support staff are also very welcoming and we enjoy the entire experience whenever we go - from the moment we walk in, to the moment we step out the door.

Dr. Frisch and her staff are wonderful with their patients as are the other veterinarians and assistants the office. They are kind, caring and knowledgeable. Very friendly, and you know your pet is in good hands with them as soon as you walk in the door and greeted by Jeffery who is at the front desk, to Nunet who has worked with me on figuring put affordable pet care and Charity, Jackie & Shayna who are amazing vet assistants. I started my dog with Dr. Frisch in Rockville and followed her to the D.C. office. I highly recommend VCA Mcarthur!!
