El Mero Mero

Ok I’ve had good Mexican Food before, but wow everything here is so well seasoned it was amazing.

Such a total find by the Schaumburg library… in a quiet little sleepy strip mall.

I know I’m probably butchering this up, but for Mexican Independence they has a special Beria burrito in sauce, so we had that and steak enchiladas. The meat on both dishes were seasoned so well!

We also had a mango and strawberry frozen margaritas and I could be wrong, but they tasted like real fresh fruit… not some mix. It was amazing, but word of warning they are huge so super filling :)

The interior is very modern and also set up to be a sports bar as well. In terms of weather permitting seats… they seem to have the whole front courtyard and there seems to be plenty of seating outdoors as well.

I am very picky when it comes to Mexican food. I absolutely found this place to be delicious with excellent service. I am so happy I found this restaurant in the suburbs. The service was stellar! I never leave reviews but this place was so amazing. It’s a place you should go with friends or family. I ordered enchiladas suizas and we also ordered the carnitas plate, and a fantastic Mango margarita.

My party stopped in at 8:50 pm prior to close on a Friday night. Their was a fair bit of customers still. The food was worth any wait. We tried a ton of different dishes, most of which were tacos. We had Shrimp and Mahi Mahi tacos. The seafood tacos were the perfect consistency, not soggy and not overly crisp they were perfect. The chips provided with meal are freshly made and the salsa had a good kick to it. Their guacamole was also fresh and had a good spice as well. We did not try the desserts but they have a delicious looking Tres Leches. I'll have to try it out next time. My recommendation is to stop in at this gem of a restaurant for dinner and a drink.

Absolutely looove the food and the service!! Our server Laura was amazing! The combo fajitas were fabulous. Rice and beans were great. My sister ordered the shrimp tacos and said they were outstanding! Will definitely be returning!!

Had dinner here on a Friday night, great date spot with no wait! Frozen margarita was a bit watery, but elotes and carne asada were amazing! Service and vibes were top notch, we will definitely be back

El Mero Mero translates to The Best, and they are. Absolutely fantastic hole in the wall. Not very busy at dinner which was surprising due to the fact that the food was absolutely fantastic. Ordered Carnitas which was cooked absolutely perfect. The meat just melts. Service was fast and friendly. Very nice atmosphere and while mostly a bar it would definitely be family friendly. 10 out of 10 will eat here again.

Glad this place is finally open! Great ingredients, lots of flavor, good choice of tacos, appetizer tamales were fluffy and flavorful, their sopa Azteka is my new favorite dish (could use a bit more spice). Beautifully decorated restaurant and friendly service too. Will definitely return.

Omg!!! This place is amazing!!! The service was great and the food was outstanding!!! We were on our way home from the Bears game and decided to get some food. This was the absolute best decision we made! The food is literally the best. Guacamole Mild was amazing and tasted so fresh. The Carnita dish, (pictured), was amazing!!! Everyone enjoyed their meals. The burrito, fajitas, and carne asada were all amazing! Don’t think twice! Stop at this place and enjoy all of it. I’m so full and it was all so good!

Relaxed and comfortable experience. It was nice not to feel rushed. Food was excellent as well as the drinks. There is both indoor and outdoor dining, and there is a full service bar. Staff was super friendly. Will be back.

Really love this cute cantina. I had 3 (small) carne asada tacos, rice and beans. The meat is delicious. I had elotes (Mexican street corn) as a side and it was great as well. Their top shelf margaritas are fantastic. The best thing though was the service. Our waiter really hustled and made sure our every need was taken care of. Will be back soon!

All I can say is wow! We went here to celebrate my son’s fourth birthday and everyone was friendly from start to finish. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was genuine. The shrimp tacos were perfect and not overdone as they typically tend to be. Our waitress, Rosi, was on top of everything, providing great service with a smile and made us feel welcomed. She handled our large party with care and attention to detail. Please support this great family owned business!

The servers were amiable and humble. We were a party of three, and due to rain, the 3rd person came an hour later. The server served us multiple servings of chips and salsa. The pork pastor tacos were delicious, and the in-house margarita was perfectly paired with the tacos.

Our first visit and it won't be our last. Great drinks. Great food. Great service. Jenny was simply the best and we'll be back because of you. Next time we go we're going to ask for you. Only downside, but a simple fix, get at least a few physical menus for those that prefer them. Not all of us like the QR menus. Thank you

We were in town for the Chicago Auto Show and found this restaurant because it was close to where we were staying. We had our three teenagers with and it’s always a challenge to find a place everyone likes. We all agreed the we loved it here! The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The margaritas were also very good! The wait staff was so friendly and accommodating. Loved it!!

Love their Margaritas, and Carne Asada is the best in the area. Very friendly staff as well.

El Mero Mero has become a regular spot for us, for a good reason. Their menu never disappoints, and the drinks perfectly complements the delicious dishes. The inviting ambiance adds a touch to every visit.

Mia’s Cantina in Mt Prospect was our absolute favorite restaurant until we moved to the Schaumburg/Hoffman Estates area. We would still make the trek to Mia’s on occasion, but we were thrilled when we found out El Mero Mero is owned by the same people. They have the same quality and delicious food, same amazing beverages, and incredible staff. There are at least two servers who consistently remember our family and make sure to stop by and say hi, ask how we’re doing, and tell us they’re glad to see us again. We are never disappointed in the food or service, and feel like we’re treated like family when we dine at El Mero Mero!

Best Tacos in Schaumburg!! I would highly recommend this place and the margaritas are excellent too!!
