Delightful walk thru this tiny nature preserve. Many commemorative benches and serene bridges over the creek.

A very peaceful place. You can tell that the town has put a lot of effort into restoring the ground to their natural state. We saw several duck families, a green heron fishing as well as many chipmunks and even an indigo bunting eating berries!

It's such a nice little spot of nature in the middle of town. Easy access from the trail, or west sycamore street. I visit here often, especially when I need to forget I live in the city.

If you are looking to get a long walk in, this isn't the place for you.

But if you're looking to connect with nature and feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, this is exactly where you want to be.

There are a short set of trails in this small nature sanctuary. When inside, it does not feel like you're in the middle of suburbia. This is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle. Most of all, I love its mission to restore sustainable, native biodiversity to the area. 💕

This site consists of two adjacent sections. The West side is mowed, has several benches, a couple picnic tables, and a paved pathway running throughout. There are several trees in this section. Many of those are beautiful specimens but obviously not native to this area.

The East side is more heavily wooded, with a pervasive undergrowth that appears to be in the grass family, but is not mowed and probably stands about 2 feet tall. It has a dirt trail system running through it. I took my wheelchair into the wooded section, but it didn’t take me long to run into enough of a slope on a day that it had rained earlier that I decided not to explore any further.

I absolutely loved the groomed (West) side. I can imagine it would be a great spot for people residing in the immediate area to just stop by and kick back. When I was here, no one was using it as a sitting space, but multiple groups (of all ages) were using it for a quick neighborhood stroll.

Unfortunately, the East side just didn’t do anything for me. One pair of the walkers (a young adult and a toddler) did venture into those woods but they too seemed to be spending more time on the West side.

Cute little hidden gem tucked away in town. Only has parking on the street so be forewarned. That being said, I have physical limitations but was able to walk the small paved loop with my walking stick. There are 2 arched wooden bridges which was a cute photogenic, instagram worthy touch of that's your thang 😜. Having worked in the past with individuals that required mobility assistance such as walkers and wheelchairs, this would be a cute little opportunity to be out in the woods but still stable. The pavement would be nice for strollers and wagons as well. This is off the trail but I saw a sign that stated since it's a nature preserve that bikes aren't permitted so that's a plus for walkers and dogs.

This is a nice quiet park in an established neighborhood, and bumps up/connects to the Constitution Trail. It took about 10 minutes to walk the full way around the path, saw a ton of cardinals, not a ton of other wildlife was seen in the winter (Jan).

So many birds to spot here and love watching the families of ducks swim around. Really good for a quick nature walk or a quiet escape from the city.

Nice little peaceful wooded park. It’s not that big but it’s right next to the Constitution Trail if you want to go for a longer walk.

A hidden gem tucked away in an old residential neighborhood in normal. While it is not huge, the space is used extremely well to create the feeling of being out in nature.
