Great staff and a phenomenal selection of snow gear. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. The prices are great, and I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable everything was.

I needed a very specific pair of hiking shoes. I checked with all the big outfitters including REI, Dick’s, Backcountry, L.L. Bean, Bass Pro Shops, Scheels, Moosejaw, Eastern Mountain Sports, Sierra and a few others including direct to the manufacture. No one could get my shoes. I happened upon WildCountry and within 7 days I had my shoes! The customer service I receive from Dan was second to none. He made phone calls, confirmed that he COULD get what I needed, kept me informed about the shipping of the shoes and followed up to keep me in the loop. This kind of customer service is rare and very much appreciated. The big stores say they will take care of you, WildCounty came through. I will be back. I highly recommend them for their personal, professional, and knowledgeable service. Thank you!!

Amazing place for all of your outdoorsy needs. My husband and I recently went to purchase ski boots and have adjustments made on our skis. All of the employees were not just friendly, but extremely knowledgeable and helpful. My husband and I are very new to the activity, so their kindness and knowledge was SO appreciated. ALSO, they have so much more than just ski gear. I highly recommend anyone in town go check them out. Support local! I am so glad to have them in town!! Thanks for all you guys do!

This was the first backpacking store I ever went to 30 plus years ago and they still are my favorite. They carry some of the best brands you can find and have very knowledgeable staff. Whether you just want to day hike, car camp, backpack, or go scuba diving they have you covered.
They routinely lead diving trips all over the world and can steer you in the right direction for whatever your needs.
I can't say thank you enough to these guys as they've kept me from buying junk gear at the big box stores many times.

Hi, I'm the husband from the previous post. So, I suck at skiing. I was lucky enough to find a used demo pair of skis for a great price and brought them to wild country after my wife recommended their services.

First of all, A+ service. They immediately took my skis and did all the fine tuning without even questioning it. I had plenty of ski related questions and they were very knowledgeable. The next day, I took the new/used skis out and they were amazing. They gave me to confidence to go out there and give it the best I can.

I also purchased boots, poles, and a bag. Each item was a very fair price. You also can't beat buying local.

All that to say, this place is amazing. BloNo has some of the best small businesses, and this is no exception.

Bravo to Wild Country. Can't wait to come back next ski season.

Thanks WildCountry for gearing me up with a pair of Oboz Hiking Boots and SmartWool PhD Outdoor Socks! I hiked for 2 days in the Dolomites (@ Naturpark Schlern-Rosengarten) and absolutely loved the quality and comfort of my footwear!

Great products, even greater service. I went in to get some hiking shoes and despite being one of the pickiest people in the world in regards to footwear, I left feeling like I had 100% gotten the best shoes I could ever buy. The owners are also super nice and knowledgeable about everything they sell. I'll definitely be coming back! :)

I am the an avid solo backpacker. I tend to learn what I need to backpack, by not taking what I need. The hard way. Is there even an easy way?
Through my journey of backpacking, Wildcountry and their staff have literally been my guides when I have felt guidless. Not just teaching me the gear I need, but by having their own experiences and how they learned their gear. By listening to my own adventures with delight!

They’ve helped me fit my backpack, fold up my tiny stove, install my kayak rack and strap it down, use my Garmin in reach, so I can escape my crazy hard life and navigate this crazy hard beautiful world properly. (And not get too lost:)

If they don’t have it, they can usually find it or have a better idea.

Fun outdoor clothing store that includes a significant scuba diving section. Has hats, socks, pants, shorts, shirts, coats and many more items in the clothing section. Also has a number of hiking and back country camping essentials, like water purification systems and trekking poles. Friendly helpful staff and, I think, locally owned. Located near downtown Normal near the train station.

The best place in the area for your outdoor, snorkeling, or skiing gear. They are very knowledgeable and will truly help you find the right gear for you.

I've been frequenting Wild Country for nearly 10 years. Whenever possible I always stop there before going to a big box store. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable, and they have a deceptively large selection. Most of what they have is very high quality, and should last a good long time. They're also the only place I know of in Bloomington that sells Alpine skiing equipment. They also offer scuba classes, though I can't personally speak to how well those are run, I'm told it's a great experience. Also keep your eye out for their clearance night, where they sell slightly used equipment at steep discounts. This is a great local business I'm always happy to frequent.

Ordered winter boots online that were out of stock everywhere, so I was surprised and half-expected my order to be cancelled. But they shipped two days later, at a reasonable shipping rate. Good experience.

Very nice store with a lot of quality brand-name outdoor clothing items and some sports equipment. The owners and staff were very attentive and welcoming.

The folks at Wild Country are absolute rock stars! They have consistently gone above and beyond to ensure that my husband and I had everything we needed for our Appalachian trail hike. They are wicked smart about everything outdoors! We were previously driving to REI in Chicago to get our gear - NOT ANY MORE! This location is an absolute gem for our community! My fiance just got her dive certification through Wild Country. I got mine through another place a few years back. I now wish I could have gotten it through wild country. The owners, staff and instructors are very friendly and knowledgeable and they truly welcome you into the dive community. Safety is their main goal backed up by having a good time. Every time we walk through the door we are greeted by the best people. Keep up the great job Wild Country!!! Five stars is not a high enough ratting!!!

The staff is VERY knowledgeable and sincere. You can't get that at the corporate owned, "big box" type stores. If they don't have what I want in stock they try to order it for me. When I shop local, I choose the independents over the chains, every time.

Always wonderful assistance. I've purchased great boots here, rented snowboards for my son. They have one of my favorite clothing line here, Kuhl.
