North Street Records

Spent the day in town for the Cody Jinks concert.
Im always on the lookout for small vinyl shops when we travel. Usually have the best luck in college towns.
This was the second stop and is by far better than the place a few shops down the block.
Some of the best 1st/2nd pressing vinyl Ive seen in one place in years! Bought a literal stack today! Made a new friend Bob who works there and was awesome to work with!
I will be back!

I’ve been going here for years ever since I went to ISU. Now I have family that goes to ISU and the establishment is still as fantastic. It was my first record store I ever went to and now I have dozens in my own collection, many from this location. Thank you so much for your service to the industry and your impeccable customer service, music knowledge, and excellent collection. Without a doubt, the best record store I’ve ever been to.

You can't find a better place than North Street to source your favorite vinyl. The golden era of the indie record store is long gone which makes this shop a rare gem. Jim and Jeff are music nerds in the very best sense of the word and know their stuff, hardcore! If you relish the days of the record store curator of amazing jams, come talk to these guys to get turned on. I have been talking music with them for over 20 years and buying records from them for a long time too. Keep on rocking, dudes!!

I was visiting family in Normal, IL and I stopped by North Street Records to take a look. I am very happy I did. Not only there is a huge selection of very interesting used records, but the more limited new inventory was very tempting as well. I ended up buying a couple of new Beatles mono records at a great price, and I had the opportunity to chat with with the owner who I found to be a very pleasant and gracious man.
I will be back if I am ever back at Normal. Thank you!

I have nothing but really good things to say about North Street Records. I started going there in Dec of 2019. Have returned Only one vinyl record with no hassle what so ever. Purchased over 75 mostly used vinyl records and a record cleaner. Going to buy a used turntable this week.
The brothers that own and run the store are there to please and make you a happy customer. My go to record store in Bloomington/Normal and one of my top two in central Illinois.

The guys are super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Great selection and prices!
I always stop by to say hi. They love that our 6yr old daughter is into Vinyl. They are very kind to her when we are in together.

North Street is a gem in Normal Illinois. Jeff, Jim, and Rob are incredibly knowledgeable. If you are looking for something and they can't find it, it doesn't exist. Extremely friendly, great attention to the customer. You will not want to leave.

Knowledgeable owners who love their music and provide great service. Looking for something something specific, just ask, they will know if they have it. Fair pricing accurately reflects the condition and demand, all 20 or so of my purchases were very clean, great sounding.

Get lost in their inventory of Rock, Punk, Country, Soul, Metal, etc. $1 bins and newly arrived sections for just about everybody.

Walked in after about 6 months away from the area and found some real gems of 70s and 80s classic rock in the "New Arrivals". Bought 8 albums and would have bought 20 more, if I didn't already own. This is one of, if not the best, used album stores in Illinois.

I am a avid shopper here. I love this place! The guys that work there are great and are very knowledgable. I am a huge Beatles fan and go there for all my Beatles needs. These guys have everything I could ever want or need. I love just going in and talking to these guys and learning something new. I would recommend anyone go do their local record shopping at this place, especially if you are a Beatles fan.

Allow me to rave for a moment. As a matter of routine I run all my used record purchases through the Spin-Cleaner, but I don't know if the records I bought from North Street Records required such vigorous treatment. Right now I am listening to a Buck Owens record I picked out of the free selection they had on the sidewalk, just a few pops. The records I paid for range from $7 to $1 are immaculate, I selected a wide range of styles, Jackie Wilson (that's Mr. Excitement to you & me) Van Halen, UFO, B-52s, Statue Quo & Charlie Pride.The prices on new records are close to what Amazon charges but you have peace of mind the platter isn't broken. I live in Peoria but I will make the drive a few times a year. for the selection, quality and the hospitality.

One of my favorite shops to visit in the Midwest. Owned by some serious old heads and a member of one of the best hardcore bands to come out of Illinois. Insane amounts of Beatles and Stones stuff. Good punk, metal, and "fanclub" sections. Your senses will be overloaded and you'll overhear some great stories. Buy a Naked Hippy t-shirt and SMILE OR DIE!

You want a used record store with a guy who was around the first time albums were popular. Dude knows his stuff. Bought more than I intended to, no regrets.

What a cool record store with a wide selection of new and used vinyl, CDs, magazines, pins, patches and more. The owner is awesome and it made my trip to ISU extra special!

Awesome CD's, vinyl everywhere, old music magazines, cool DVD's and eclectic VHS. One more thing, all priced to move. I personally love Mom and Pop stores like this.
