Shelter Insurance - Brian Thoennes

I have been with Brian Thoennes of Shelter Insurance for over 40 years, and have NEVER thought of even trying any other company. Over the years Brian has helped my with insuring 2 different houses, 9 different automobiles and answered numerous questions in a very light and pleasant way, no matter how insignificant the question.
Even my son ( owner of 2 vehicles) has Brian as his insurance agent, and really enjoys working with him when he has insurance questions.

Personable, friendly. They can explain your policy clearly and find a great fit for you with Shelter. I switched to Shelter from another "big" company and found a better coverage.

Brian and Alex are always available and if they’re not available at the time they get back to me as soon as they can.

I’ve never dealt with an insurance company that actually care! Teaching my daughter how to drive she hit a curb and then a tree. Alex called and the first thing he said was “somebody needs a little more experience”. We both laughed and, they put me in a rental right away and helped me take care of everything with the towing company. They stayed in touch with the shop about my car. Even called to let me know when it was ready. They are GREAT!

I live just outside of Normal and had an issue with a flat tire on my way to court in Eureka as a witness. Because of Alex of Shelter Insurance, I was able to leave my truck on the side of a very rural road. Alex contacted the road side assistance for me and had everything set up for me. My truck was towed to Normal for repair and Shelter is such great insurance, I was even discounted a lot of the costs because it was my first time using their RSA. Kudos to Alex and his brother. Family run business that makes you feel like you are cared for like family.
