Lillie Bell's (Inside New Abbey Liquor Store)

I just so happened to find this place via Google and was hoping this place was still in service and sure enough it was. The staff was friendly and pleasant. My food was fresh and very yummy. The wait was like 25 minutes, but I'm willing to wait for fresh cooked food. If you're a foodie like me; especially with wanting non creamy Mac and cheese, this place is it. I ordered the catfish dinner with Mac and cheese and yams. I also ordered a veggie plate that I'll indulge in tomorrow which included collard greens, candied yams, baked beans and Mac and cheese. I do deliver and cater. I will be returning.

Lillie Bell`s is an awesome place to partake of Soul food. I've tried a few others however this family owned business has been a Blessing to me. The food is ALWAYS fresh, prepared to perfection. 🥰My favorite dishes are....Well it's hard to choose. Visit them, you will not be disappointed. My prayers for continued success.~~

For my dinner this was very filling and satisfying to the palette. A little pricey, but due to food inflation all over the nation, the cost was not surprising. I will return again.

I’ve been here 3 times so far and every time the Food was the same. Very good. Service was very pleasant and my food was ready at the time they said and they even called to let Me know it was ready. Their awesome!

The staff is wonderful! They are all extremely pleasant and give great customer service. The food is really, really good. Very well seasoned and tasty. I always recommend this place when people are looking for a soul food restaurant.

I'm utterly speechless on how good these loaded potatoes are. I'm out done!!! So a family friend (Charles) went to the Dr. today and seen this restaurant and stopped in to see what kind of food they have. While there he decided to buy me and my spouse the Loaded Baked Potatoes because he knows we like loaded potatoes. He ordered the "Gimmee All You Got" which comes loaded with Ground Beef, Ribeye Steak, Italian Sausage, Grilled Chicken, Cajun Shrimp, Bacon, Bell Peppers, Onions, Mixed Cheese, and Chives for $20. Just how amazing can you get!!!! When I tell you these loaded potatoes are delicious they are absolutely delightful. You can taste every seasoning and it's seasoned to perfection. I swear I wouldn't add anything else to them the seasonings are perfect. They also fill the container up so you get a lot for $20. It's worth every penny then some. Me, my spouse, family, and friends will definitely frequent this restaurant to try different food they have on the Menu. I'm just in shock right now GREAT JOB Lillie Bell's

This place was great!!!! I have struggled to find good soul food here outside of Southern Fire. After moving here from Wisconsin in 2021. Came here 12/26
my food was SEASONED WELL, Everything!! My Turkey chops were Fried right/crispy! They have an option on their menu to add more so a meal for 2… So I decided to get 3 turkey chops with my 3 sides & ALL 3 sides were tasty! NO Complaints. I’m a potato junky 😊 The homemade mashed potatoes were my Fave, The Greens were cooked JUST RIGHT, not undercooked or overcooked, & the mac & cheese was cheesy. I decided to get me a kool-aid (reminds me of my childhood) and that was AMAZING AS WELL.
The customer service was ToP notch as well.
It being in a liquor may sway some people but if you bypass this Your missing out…
I will be returning TODAY to try there lamb chops that’s I’ve heard so much about.

Always a go-to when I want some comfort/soul food! I got the chicken bacon potato with a side of greens and mac and cheese. Their food is always seasoned to perfection and the customer service is second to none! Quality food with substantial quantity to the portions!

My experience here has always been great. No attitudes, just an excellent vibe. 1/29/23 we had to go in to place our order because of the demand. It was a wait but well worth it as always. First of all the customer service was great. The catfish, Mac n cheese, greens, green beans, and yams were on point. Everything and I mean everything is seasoned perfectly. I will be going back to try the smothered pork chops very soon.
And it's in the liquor store where I can grab some wine to go with it. #winning.

Avoid the banana puddings - not really homemade and not worth the money. All the food here is excellent - chicken, mac n cheese, yams, green beans, all delicious. I will continue to come back and try something new each time. Great place within the store for take out.

This is a take out establishment only. Located inside of a liquor store to save on overhead, you would never believe the quality of food they create. Everything I’ve had is delicious. They’re not open on Mondays-but they do a lot of business on the days they are. I’ve had the smothered chops, Mac n cheese and greens AND the pound cake. Great offerings.

I used Lillie Bells to cater a family dinner for my parents. The food was excellent. The service was excellent. The macaroni tasted like time and effort was put in. Catfish was excellent. Everyone left with to go plates. I will definitely be utilizing them again soon. Good done very well!

For Thanksgiving, we catered their greens and peach cobbler. We received so many compliments, and I happily told everyone it was from Lillie Bells. I order here often, and I have never been disappointed.

I’ve been here a few times & each time the food was good & met my expectations. Good ppl as well.

I’ve had the food on 4 separate occasions. 2 of the times were events that they catered, the third time I was In the area and the fourth time I drove from Flint to Southfield so my sister could try it! Need I say More?! The potatoes we got were LOADED! My sister sat back and said “this is everything I ever wanted in a potato” lol. I also love the baked BBQ wings and the meat just melts off the bones and in your mouth. Love that everything is made fresh and is hot when I get it and the timing was exactly what they said it would be.

Everything on the menu is good (Everything?! Yes Everything!!) Customer Service is great and always greeted with a smile. Family atmosphere that makes you continue to come, even just for desert. Time of service & prices are very reasonable and food cooked to order.

I have worked with Lillie Bells for several catered events and each time they have delivered exceptional food and service! I would certainly recommend them for your events or if you’re just craving a taste meal for yourself!

I ordered Mac n cheese, greens, yams and catfish for my graduation party. The food was delicious and everyone praised how good it was. Only thing that i would recommend is bringing your own carrier to transport the food because my food was placed in boxes and the juice from the green beans spilled transporting it from the restaurant to the venue. I would Definitely recommend them. Great food and great service.

Lillie Bell’s food taste just like how my great Auntie used to make. The Mac and cheese is creamy and takes me back to the holidays with the family. I especially love their candied yams which are sweet and delightful treat. They know soul food here. As for the service, they are kind and create a family atmosphere that will certainly have me coming back for more.
