St Paul Lutheran School

My son was a slightly above average student at a public school in Royal Oak. Covid forced us to find in-person learning. This school was the only one who would let us in (every in-person school was full in 2020). It was the greatest blessing in disguise. I didn’t realize how dedicated teachers could be to their students. I grew up attending public schools and went to a public college. I was worried about the smaller class sizes at St. Paul, but that is what made the experience so special. I was awe-struck at how my child flourished under St. Paul’s direction and how he received so much one on one teaching . My son always struggled with reading comprehension. He was in the 36th percentile. I communicated this to his public school teachers. Nothing was done and no advice was given, other than the standard “read every day for 30 minutes”. I communicated the same to St. Paul and they said “we can help with this. We will work with him”. My son left this school testing in the 76th percentile. He has since moved on and is currently attending a private school in Birmingham. He is a 4.0 student, in all the advanced classes, who values his education, and has great study habits. I credit this ALL to the staff at St. Paul. He only attended from 4th grade - 6th grade, but that was enough time for him to establish a strong work ethic and focus on his school work, which he continues to apply today. God bless all of St. Paul. You have made a huge difference in my family’s life. If you are lucky enough to live close by I highly recommend going to this school for at least some of your child’s education just so you can experience what education is at its best.
