Cardona’s Latham Market

Had an errand nearby around lunchtime today and noticed Cardona’s on the map, so I figured I’d try the place out. Really nice market with friendly staff and customers alike and a great selection of pretty much everything. I ordered a sandwich and a cup of soup, both were fresh and full of flavor. Can’t wait to come back!

I used to come here back when it was Roma's Importing Co. Recently tried it for the first time in 5 years, and the sandwiches are still great. Both the Italian and chicken cutlet subs were delish.

Only reviewing the store and the deli section. The inside of the store is huge. They have a lot of import packaged goods down the isles. A lot of premade salads and pastas from the cooler to go. The staff was a little disorganized but everyone was super nice and friendly so I didn’t mind. I think ordering for pickup through the website is the way to go. The sandwiches are pretty good size and a nice meat to bread ratio. This bread is very soft but i think that is a regional/upstate NY thing. One of the better sandwich shops in the area for sure. Haven’t really found a place that does a hard crust Italian semolina style bread yet. Would definitely order again.

One word - delicious! I was sad when Roma closed, but Cardona’s has been an incredible replacement. Quality products, good prices. Today I received their Mother’s Day Sunday pickup which was by far the best Mother’s Day meal I’ve ever had. There was so much food, with something for everyone. It was a plentiful and flavorful selection from the frittata, bacon, sausage, pastries, hash brown casserole, French toast BUT WAIT - then there was a salad, sandwich platter and fruit platter. I cannot wait for Mother’s Day next year. We’ve had sandwiches from their place and have always been pleased. Highly recommend Cardona’s.

Another week, another opportunity for me to try a place during the week when I am at work.

This time, it was Cardona's Latham Market, an easy few minute off and then back on the highway headed home.

I literally could have bought half the store. Instead, I settled for 2 large subs (so large I couldn't finish half of mine and will be getting a small next round). One "Big D" and one Chicken Bruschetta, minus the roasted garlic spread. Plus 2 bottled beverages, 1 cup of soup, 1 slice of peanut butter pie, and 2 small sides of pasta salads. All of this for a little over $40!

Everything was delicious, but 2 items stood above the rest. That peanut butter pie is way too accessible after a long day at work. I shared with the hubby, but next time we each need our own slice. And the chicken on the sub may be the best I have ever had. It was paper thin and well breaded and seasoned, just the way I love. Fresh mozzarella and tomatoes as well - how can you go wrong?

This is a spot I know I will return to again and again

One of the best Italian delis in the area. I promise you I've never been to one this big, nor have I ever seen one of such quality. They give you the option to get olives with your sub if you don't want a pickle!!!!

I’ve never been disappointed, the Mother’s Day brunch was amazing! Can’t wait for next Mother’s Day.

Sandwiches are quality, there’s something for everyone!

This place us amazing. My go to for sandwiches and meats. I accidentally ordered online at the wrong store (totally my fault) and they made everything right super quickly. They are amazing in staff and in taste! Would definitely recommend and will be back!

Chicken cutlet sandwiches are amazing! However, they don’t travel well. Highly recommend, but eat it when you buy it.

The minute you walk into this specialty store, you are hit with the smell of the most delicious Italian spices. Roma Importing Co is a specialty store that sells Italian groceries ranging from Olive Oil, imported pasta, tomato sauce & very exclusive Italian products. In the middle of the store is a hot food area. You may purchase salads, meals, Subs, Italian cookies. Yum! In the back of the store is a deli. Along with deli meat, they also carry imported cheese. If you ask, they will grate it for you. There is also a butcher shop inside the store, although I have never purchased meat there & cannot review it. I absolutely love this store & have been coming here for years. Even though I moved & now live 35 minutes away, I continue to make the drive as it is well worth it.

Smells so authentic and good when you walk in. Theres a great selection of products and samples. I had some time to kill so I got a cannoli and sat and did some homework. Definitely going to be back to try more, its a casual spot but feels homey

As a regular Roma shopper, I was saddened when they closed. That melancholy didn’t last long when I walked into Cardona’s. My reason for going was to purchase a box of my favorite ravioli which I can only buy at one other store.( I really felt as if I were cheating on the other Italian store. Cardonna’s stays open later and my craving was epic.!). Yes, mission accomplished. Ohhh what’s this? Fresh grated quality cheese? Ah! Prepared eggplant! Pasta from Italy, cold cuts, olive oils, deli. Gasp’! A steambar??? With salmon, chicken, rice balls, string beans…pasta with delectable sauce. So many entrees to fit my mood lol. I am that customer who is very picky about food. I had salmon with veggies and, of course, a small serving of pasta. The salmon is always perfectly seasoned and prepared. How Cardona’s manages that feat is beyond my culinary imagination
Fresh as if it came in that day. I’m a repeat offender. It’s become a weekly habit. I don’t remember what the pasta is called and I should, it’s simple. Whatever it’s name, I’m always delighted to order it. The bread served is light and tasty too. All the prepared hot items make for a hearty lunch or dinner. Sweet tooth have you? You’re in luck! Pastries for all tastes and degrees of sweetness are available. My utter surprise was when I saw my favorite British chocolate bar, Flake. Sadly for my waistline I spied a gorgeous and not very small Toblerone. Got both. Each time I’m at Cardona’s I notice another product to try. The assortment is wonderful. I have to give the staff the most accolades. I’m there a lot and not one time have I ever witnessed a staff member behaving in any way but respectful, friendly and professional. From my side of the counter, it appears everyone gets along and they’re happy to be there. To say that job can be a smidge stressful, dealing with the public, is putting it mildly. Everyone, behind all the counters, sets the mood for the day and the shopper’s positive or negative experience. It’s a very positive shopping experience and a fantastic food experience! So, there you have it! This is a terrific shop. My fingers are crossed that tomorrow they will have that glorious salmon. If not, there are other favorites!

I worked in the albany store as a teenager 15 years ago. I found the quality here to be equal to the old albany place back in the day. Nice store and staff and good prices. Can't ask for more.

Ww had a family lunch catered by Cardona's Latham and it was fantastic. Fair price for excellent food. The customer service was top shelf. Nicole was great.

Specializing in a foods Italian..the fragrance gets you as soon as you enter and your mouth starts watering! Any and all products from Italy, there's a great counter to order their subs or create your own, friendly staff, loads of Italian specialties, fresh and frozen dough for making pizza, tomato pie, etc., Tons of Italian sausages, cheeses, olive oil, vinegars, etc. AND wonderful Italian pastries! GO THERE!!!

The experience and the food were fantastic!! Every employee and customer was kind and courteous. Although I made the mistake of ordering from the other store, they were able to accommodate and then some! I sooo enjoyed my meal and appreciated their patience! Overall, just a wonderful place!

The quality of the food here is immeasurably high. It is so good, I've been back three times in ten days. The meatballs, the eggplant parmesan, the lasagna to name a few. Also, the jar their own pasta sauces which are INSANELY delicious!!!

My family has been in the restaurant business for years, we know service and quality. We eat here regularly, always perfect. There isn't a place in the Capital Region that can compare. The work that goes into this type of business is above what anyone would understand. Stop complaining and give them some credit for serving you.

Went in here today for the first time and ordered some sandwiches and picked up some store made vodka sauce for Christmas eve dinner. I ordered a Rabe C sandwich and omg... it was amazing. I wish I had ordered the large size so I could have had leftovers for tomorrow. I'll have to remember that for next time (yep I'll be back!)

Only place in the area to get guanciale. Fantastic selection of imported ingredients, great customer service and delicious freshly made food and desserts available! The arancini is out of this world good, especially with their housemade tomato cream sauce. New favorite place to shop and eat.
