Mei Japanese Restaurant

Excellent dining experience! Had hot sake, grilled salmon dinner set and vegetable croquette. Everything was fresh and delicious! The hostess was very polite and also suggested the best way to enjoy the croquette! I would definitely come back here.

This is my new favorite place. The quality of the sushi is well above the other local restaurants. The price of the food reflects the quality. Great service. Full bar.

The food was great. It's not always possible to get good sushi around here, especially we are far from ocean and in the area with not much of Asian population. However, we were surprised by the quality of their food. The nigiri were great.
We were also surprised by the price. It was expensive, but I think I will come back here when I crave for sushi.

Fabulous authentic Japanese restaurant tucked into the perfect spot in Montgomery. We reserved a private Tatami room for a special occasion. We needed to order a minimum of $100, which was a not difficult for our family.The service and food was all fantastic! From the appetizers to the dessert every single dish was delicious!

De-li-cious! I love coming here, they have great and authentic japanese cuisine and the staff is super friendly! The place is pretty too, they have tatami rooms.

My wife and I came here for a last minute date and Mei’s did not disappoint. Really cute restaurant with a great design. Food was incredible. Would recommend to anyone.

I really enjoyed this place. The staff was very attentive. They have a lot of authentic Japanese dishes. Very cozy and quiet; nice dating spot. My tempura dinner was perfect but my husband was not as pleased with his chicken dish. The tuna roll was fine but nothing special . Overall, would recommend.

Best Japanese restaurant in Cincinnati. Wide range of Japanese cuisine from sushi/sashimi to udon/ramen and bento boxes, etc. Choose from traditional Japanese style tatami seating on mats or Western style table seating. Quiet. Nice window views. Ample parking. The fish for the sushi is fresh and prepared by a Japanese chef. Also recommended are the various udon and ramen options. See photos to this review. In particular, the nabeyaki udon and tonkotsu ramen (see photos) are delicious and tasty!

I really enjoyed my visit to Mei. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was top notch. We arrived for dinner around 6pm on a busy Saturday and our server was constantly checking up on our table to see if we needed anything -- not only that, but she was one of the most polite servers I've met. Definitely recommend checking this place out of you've got a craving for Japanese food!

This place has excellent authentic Japanese food at a reasonable price. All of the food reminded me of my visit to Japan. I got the tonkatsu ramen which was delicious. The broth was rich and creamy and not overly salted. Not the best ramen I've ever had but definitely the best I've had in Ohio. The sushi was excellent and the sushi chef is from Japan. The tempura was delicious and well fried. Overall fantastic experience at this place. I will definitely be back in the future.

We LOVE this place! We had Tonkotsu ramen, Tan-shio, Chirashi and Rolling Island Wave and all of them were DELICIOUS!! Rolling Island Wave and Chirashi were a bomb!! Servers were nice and friendly. We'll definitely come back again! : )

This is an incredibly authentic restaurant that lives up to it’s name. You won’t find a ton of spicy mayo or cream cheese in these sushi rolls. The sushi and the ramen were both amazing. If you’re looking for delicious authentic Japanese food, this is the place

Great sushi for being from a restaurant that's not close to the coast and therefore doesn't have access to fresher fish. But this place was awesome. I got the barbecue eel, the tuna, and the yellow tail nigiri. The rice was a great texture and the sashimi flavor was on point. I got the tonkatsu fried pork cutlets and they were excellent as well. Very close to what you can get in Japan. I wish I had more space in my stomach to try more. I'll just have to go back again sometime soon.

Really a top notch experience. We had a party of six and they could not have done better in getting sushi out and everything was delicious.

Great if you like a quiet spot with excellent food! We had a small Sunday dinner and the place was quite busy.

Edamame beans and an exceedingly tasty miso soup to start off, Cha Soba noodles, FRESH Chirashi dinner and ikura sushi. No room for desserts whi CGH look fabulous.

This is where you can get "almost" authentic Japanese food in Cincinnati area. Kirin Ichiban is always good with the sushi. Great place and atmosphere.

Authentic tasting Japanese dishes. Staff has always been polite and efficient. I will highly recommend it to anyone who likes Asian food. Pricing is reasonable. Closed Mondays.

Fresh & Authentic
Larger servings better prepared than other local sushi joints. The quality of the ingredients and expertise in preparation makes it a favored destination. The lunch menu has delightfully filling options under $15. Anything off the sushi menu will deliver a large portion of fresh and authentic seafood at prices we consider a bargain. Now a part of our regular dining rotation.

Really beautiful atmosphere and friendly people. Service can sometimes be slow and food is a bit pricey but it’s worth it

We had our anniversary dinner here and had a great time with great food and drink! It was a little hot inside, but everything else made up for it. The waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. All of our food tasted amazing!
