Such a beautiful lookout spot! Accessible both by car or by hiking up the trail, which is very convenient.

My favorite part of San Marcos. Great spot for sunrise and sunset. You can see snow on the mountains in the distance sometimes. It'd be easy to spend a full day of nature between Elfin Forest Preserve, Double Peak, and Southlake Park.

I love coming up here for the view and the Starwalk event. It's very nice to be able to learn and admire nature. The staff is very friendly and helpful, there is a good amount of parking and the park overall is kept very neat and clean.

A surprisingly beautiful peak in the middle of a town/housing area. Climbing it on a bike twice was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life.

Best views in North county. Best place to see a nolice sunset. It is pretty crowded though.

Beautiful place. Never knew this park was in San Marcos. You can either drive up or hike up to the view. So if you want to hike up park at the bottom. The view is amazing. Peaceful

Beautiful place with sunset in the evening.

Great place to relax, you have a great view and on a clear day you can see many of the taller peaks of San Diego county. There are mountain bikers and horse back riders, but all are very pleasant. There is a small park for kids and you can even rent a picnic area or an area with amphitheater seating. They have star viewing nights as well. Plenty of trials some even lead to a small water reservoir at the base of the hill.

View is amazing. Can even see downtown SD if it's clear enough. Spectacular place to watch the sunset.

plenty of parking, Beautiful view, a few benches and picnic tables to sit at to watch the sunset, it got pretty crowded closer to sunset, if you want to sit down on a bench or picnic table to enjoy a meal and watch the sunset I would recommend getting there an hour before sunset to secure a spot to sit! (you can also watch the sunset and enjoy the view from your car, but once again must get there earlier to secure a good parking spot facing the sunset view )

Came here in February 2022 with my Mom and went back in June 2022 with my husband and children for them to experience this beautiful peak! Amazing 360 view. Love Cali!

Love love this park.

The view is the one of the best in San Diego county. 360 degree. On a clear day you can see most of the islands, Arizona mountains, Mexico, all of Orange County…and the the ocean of course.

Hiking options are great. Lots of choices.

But if you simply wanna catch sunset or have a nice picnic, drive up and park. It’s about 20-30 steps from the parking lot.

Restrooms are near the rangers house below the top.

It's pretty alright. Looks like a 3D Map or something. But in real life. You could see the Temecula Mountain Ranges off in the distance. I believe so. Looks like there's a lake towards the southeast down there. Never been to but maybe one of these days trek a down mountain hiking trip towards. That direction. Thanks a lot or a bunch
