Simmons Family Park

The hiking trail leading to here from the valley below is a terrific hike because it's scenic, not too long (~2 miles r/t) and just enough uphill to get your heartrate up. The park is grassy, open, on top of a hill that gives panoramic views west to the ocean and east to the mountains. Basketball court doubles as a pickleball court. People come here to walk their dogs and parents bring young children to the play equipment area (slides, monkey bars, etc) and to the grassy area to kick around soccer balls.

This park is in a private neighborhood. Very quiet and very pretty, clean. Over looks the Carlsbad beaches.

The park/playset area for kids is really nice and it was pretty quiet while we were there. Very clean too. Age range geared towards younger children. I'd say 10 years and under. I included the beautiful views over San Marcos that are just beyond the basketball court. There is also a biking/walking trail that passes through.

Fun park off the beaten path with access to groomed trails all the way to the coast. Perfect for moms with little ones to play and picnic. You can’t beat the views.

Beautiful little park with plenty of room to spread out. We were able to reserve 3 tables for our party and had food delivered. Enjoyed the views, watching the guys play Frisbee (didn't know that was still a thing!!) And even played some one hoop basketball with the local kids!

One of the most beautiful and breath-taking spots in all of San Marcos. The views are just spectacular; you can see the mountains and the ocean! Beautiful park, with sidewalks and trails. You see butterflies, birds and hummingbirds everywhere on a warm summer day. You can feel the ocean breezes. Such a beautiful, peaceful and relaxing place!

Fun park with great views! Two small playgrounds and a sizable field, benches and a few picnic tables. Also a basketball court, currently missing the hoops due to COVID-19 concerns regarding crowding... At any rate a great place for the kiddos to get some energy out!

Beautiful park hidden in the middle of Rancho Dorado development. Nice trails here. Overlooks the Carlsbad beach area and surrounding landscape. Please clean up after yourselves here.

Stupendous, I had a rapturously grand time upon my arrival. I treasure the memories formed in this blessed plot of land. I salute all the souls involved in its creation and maintenance. 5/5 bretty good.

Great safe place. The guys who close the gate are rude, but the park is so,nice who cares. @gate guys: learn to say hi and recipricate when we humble inhabitants of this neigjborhood attempt to engage in pleasantries please.

This is nice and quite place to hang out. It is also very clean. The view of valley is fantastic in some places as well. This is great place to take photographs as well.
