Del Ray Boccato

Had a great experience for my brief visit to this gem. I happened to be in the hat store next door when we left and decided to stop for a snack. The owner was very friendly and very engaging with answers we had about his products. He offered us samples of Gelato and explained the ingredients/ tastes of each of the fresh empanadas. We settled on 2 each so we can sample each other’s and we were not disappointed. Nice/ flaky/ buttery crust, well seasoned, and delicious. Worth a visit for lunch or a quick snack on the go.

- gelato was so good, fresh and they had an awesome display that really drew us in to check it out.

- staff really friendly and helpful.

- place was clean.

- prices not bad at all for the area.

- they had seating but if they were super busy you probably wouldn't be able to dine in.

- parking in the area is always hit or miss but to be expected.

- they had other items on the menu that I will go back and try eventually.

- overall a good first experience and I'd recommend this location.

Visited a couple times and have been impressed by both the service and quality of the food both times. Today I got a chai latte and a chicken tamale. Latte was one of the best I have had and the tamale tasted authentic like my Peruvian grandmother makes. Empanadas I tried previously were also delicious as well.

Amazing GLUTEN FREE CHURROS! Taste like the real thing. GF anything is hard to make, but somehow they made a miracle happen!

I absolutely recommend this place! Christian was an absolute delight and his food is amazing. Came in for saltenas, a latte and affagato. Everything was made as good if not better than other places offering similar delights. Had some fresh churros out of the oven and those were the best I've ever tasted.

Y’all… man I am telling you lol GET THEIR CHURRO. This one is the gluten free one and I can promise you (at least for me), this did NOT taste gluten free. Man, it is amazing. Each time I have gotten it, it was always either warm or hot and it has that crisp on the outside but doughiness on the inside 😍. 10000% recommend. Go get it!!! Yum yum yum!

This is our favorite neighborhood spot! Their empanadas are delicious, creative, and well-priced. Their gelato is also fantastic. We’ve come here at least once a week since discovering it.

My friend and I decided to stop in Boccato since I had noticed a few days ago that a new shop had opened up in Del Ray. Let me tell you about the empanadas. AMAZING, especially with the peruvian sauce and the green jalapeño sauce; They we’re so flavorful! My friend asked the owner how he came up with the combination and he very nicely told us that it is actually very common to see in South America. I love finding places with culture and I really enjoyed the food, as well as the feel of the shop. I can’t wait to come back and try the gelato, as well as the 5 spiced Hot chocolate — now that the weather is cooling down it sounds amazing. This is another hidden little gem in Del Ray that I am glad to have found! So if you want to support local businesses stop by, You won’t regret it.

I rarely post a review but just had to say the empanadas are delicious!! My husband and I popped in to grab something to snack on before errands and we most certainly will be back. Great new gem for the neighborhood.

Mom and Pop establishment with freshly made empanadas of various types. They are large and delicious. They also have a variety of gelato.

Just stopped by this evening and bought a selection of empanadas. They were all good, and the BBQ short rib one was stellar. I will be back for more!

Great pistachio gelato. Been waiting for this to open and myself nor my dogs were disappointed. Their dog gelato was met with gusto and sounds awesome for us to eat. Highly recommend.

They have Julia's empanadas!! And their gelato is pretty good. This is one of the very few places where you can find lucuma gelato.

The best hot chocolate I've ever had. Delicious and flavorful gelato and sandwiches too. Definitely recommend :)
