Residence Inn by Marriott Alexandria Old Town South at Carlyle

Very convenient, it's like having your own condo unit with all amenities from cooking pans, cutlery set, a working desk area, a dining table and a living room side as well. The walls are very thin as you can hear next door or hallway activities. There is a free breakfast downstairs and the hotel is walking distance to a subway station that can take you downtown(30min ride and the ticket is $13 for an all day use.) Friendly hotel staff. Would recommend for short and long stay as well.

This was our 2nd time staying at Residence Inn by Marriott Alexandria Old Town South at Carlyle because we liked it so much last time; however, this time was even better - actually it was EXCELLENT.

From the minute we walked in we were greeted by Monica and Larry at the Front Desk. They could not have been more welcoming and friendly.

The room we had last time was not available, but Larry put us in another room that we absolutely LOVED!!! The room was bright and very clean, and had everything we could have wanted or needed. And the bed was super comfortable. Sandy from housekeeping was very pleasant and provided us with extra towels when we arrived.

Having the kitchen is a plus, especially during the holiday weekend when I brought food from home to bring to our son's house in Alexandria to celebrate Easter.

When we returned in the evening, Pierce was right there to open the front door for us, which we did not expect but appreciated.

The cleaning staff is always moping and dusting the hotel's lobby area and it smells very clean.

The breakfast is an added bonus. Everything is fresh and the 2 ladies (didn't get their names) were constantly cleaning and refilling the food items.

We received a warm send off from Larry and Fatima the day we left, and even met the General Manager Meaghan to let her know how pleased we were with our entire stay.

We will definitely stay at Residence Inn by Marriott Alexandria Old Town South at Carlyle.

The entire staff are 5 star. Especially Marie! Very professional accommodating and welcoming experience. What a happy accident. I confused the address with a Residence Inn less than 1 mile away. From the moment I entered the building, I could tell this was a place that cared about their guests comfort and experience. Realizing I was at the wrong location, I expressed to Marie that if at all possible I’d like to transfer my reservation. She said don’t worry, I will call over and she made it seamless for me to transfer the reservation. From check in to check out , during the entire experience it was refreshing and great to be reminded through every interaction with the staff why they call it the hospitality industry. The hotel was very clean. Easy location. Cheap(comparatively) parking Staff makes it 5 star

We had a one bedroom with a queen pulled out sofa-bed unit. There is a full sized refrigerator & some eating utensils. A 2 seat eating table. The sheets & towels are very clean white. It's 20 minutes from the Capitol. Parking overnight on-site is $30. But you can park at nearby garage for $8. Or on wknds, you can park on the street for free.

The staff are the sweetest, most lovely people I have met in the area. The concierge Larry is a gentleman, having helped us resolve an issue with our parking in no time at all. The breakfast was lovely, warm, and all free with the room.

I will definitely come back here the next time I come to the DC area.

She was really patient and paid attention to detail, what an excellent customer service, Marriott Bonvoy should be proud of you and celebrate 🥂🎇 this type of employees.

Room was clean and tidy up, with an excellent kitchen, big fridge, burners, dishwasher, modern microwave, ustensiles; just great with convenience ways to make me feel home; Sweet home 🏡

Great staff and hotel! The new manager Larry was amazing. I needed a last minute booking for my parents and he patiently worked with me to make sure everything would work for them. The rooms are really nice and well priced. The staff definitely take it to the next level though, everyone is super helpful and accommodating.

I wish every Marriott would take a page out of this property’s playbook. The staff have been exceptionally helpful and friendly. As a Titanium Elite, I was greeted with a suite upgrade. The rooms are very nice. The location is very convenient. The only “weird” thing is that, because the property footprint is so small, you park behind the hotel when you check in and have to walk around to the front to get to the desk. Marie is an absolute gem.

Came back a day later to edit: I forgot a nice sweater in the room. Thankfully I was local. I called the front desk and the associate told me that housekeeping had found it and set it aside; they had it waiting for me at the front desk when I showed up. Really grateful for great service.

WHERE DO I BEGIN......I had such a wonderful experience at the Residence Inn in Alexandria. Ms. Maria, Ms. Mimi and Mr. Thomas WAS UNMATCHED in their attention to detail and customers service. Ms. Maria was the highlight of my stay. She was so warm and welcoming upon my arrival and throughout my stay here. I CANNOT WAIT TO RETURN to visit again. I WOULD HIGHLY recommend this hotel for the CUSTOMER SERVICE, lodging and closeness to the downtown Alexandria and DC areas.

Rooms were very comfortable and provided all required for an extended stay. Location, safe and walkable. Easily accessible to many restaurants by foot. Staff, friendly and efficient.

I really like this place. It offers a lower cost alternative to staying in DC with easy access to the DC Metro rail and reasonably priced parking options across the street. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. The lobby was clean and inviting. Only thing I would say is that parking at the hotel garage is $32 per night. You would be better off across the street for $8.

This place was awesome. Staff was helpful, the location was great, and we had a good breakfast. The beds were firm and comfortable. It was near a train station no more than a 5 minute walk. As long as you are comfortable with public transportation, you will be great staying here. I have no bad notes to say about this place.

The 1 bedroom suite we stayed in was clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The king bed was a bit harder than I would have liked, but tolerable. Kind of pricey but worth every penny.

We had an amazing stay here few months ago! Kudos to the staffs who are very accomodating esp to Crystal in the front desk who's always there to assist us and to Sonia from the room service which was my son's favorite to play with while cleaning at the same time. 😂 Furthermore, the room is spacious with kitchen that helps us a lot since we stayed for 6weeks. Free breakfast buffet was really awesome too! The location is almost accessible to everywhere since its near the metro station. This place is highly recommended and will definitely come back again.

I don’t even know where to start. Our stay was so so good. Service was awesome. The room was very spacious and very clean. I really didn’t see anything wrong with the room. Very nice TV. Nice shower. The bed was very comfortable and spacious. Pillows weren’t that great but it’s okay. Minor inconvenience. The best part was the kitchen. Full fridge. Stove. Dishwasher. Just awesome.

The breakfast is served from 7am-10am and they had so many good options to choose from. Waffles were awesome lol. The location is only ten minutes from the national harbor so I recommend this place if you wanna save a few bucks. About 25 minutes away from DC as well. Overall we would DEFINITELY stay here again when we come back to the area. Thanks for the awesome stay!

I had a nice stay at this hotel recently. The rooms were available for a really great price and the area is fantastic. You’re close to the metro and to Carlyle. My only gripe is there were loud children running amok in the hallway. I can’t exactly blame that on the hotel though and it didn’t rise to the level requiring intervention by the front desk. They also were willing to store my incredibly heavy luggage for a bit which was incredibly appreciated. 5/5.

Very friendlY staff. Great breakfast buffet. There is a great dog park right up the street with two different enclosed areas.

The location is quite and a tad bit away from things but still walkable to things. I just loveeeee this hotel and how spacious and clean it is. I will definitely stay in the place again. The free breakfast was great too.

Nice place to stay nice little walk down the brick side walks we walked all the way to King Street then walked to the end of King Street to the water passing a lot of nice little shops stores bars, and restaurants. What An Amazing Awesome Little Town We Absolutely Love This Area With Live Music In The Streets.
