Dr. George R. Sitterle, DDS

I was initially hesitant to visit this dental office due to its low rating and some negative reviews, primarily focusing on the receptionist. However, my experience with Dr. Sitterle completely changed my perspective. Contrary to what I'd read, I found Dr. Sitterle to be exceptionally kind and understanding. It's clear that he values loyalty, as suggested by his long-term employment of his receptionist, which I believe speaks volumes about his character.

My appointment with Dr. Sitterle was at the end of last year. Upon my arrival, the receptionist wasn't there yet, but Dr. Sitterle himself welcomed me warmly, checked me in, and immediately proceeded with my cleaning. Throughout my visit, he was friendly, professional, and engaged in various interesting conversations, making the whole experience very pleasant.

Dr. Sitterle operates his practice from his home, which is equipped with all the essential amenities, including an X-ray machine. It's evident that he has decades of experience and is incredibly knowledgeable in his field. The home-based setup contributed to a more relaxed and personal atmosphere, further enhancing my visit. Based on my experience, I highly recommend Dr. Sitterle to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, kind, and professional dentist.

This is where my gram took me all growing up. (A good 10ish years) when she passed away I sadly moved counties. However I recently moved back to the city. I had a hard time finding a dentist that rakes UPMC for you. So I thought to myself. Let me go see if dr. Sitterle takes it still. I was having a dental emergency and they miraculously were able to schedule me the same day. When I got to my appointment he remembered exactly who I was even though a good couple years went by. He remembered my grandma and siblings. He was so understanding and was very friendly. It was like no time passed at all! So glad I chose him as a dentist again

Me and about 7 other friends have gone to Dr George for years (all of us referred by same person). We all really love him - he even comes up in conversation frequently enough. He is was one of few dentists in my life to clarify for me that I *don't* need surgery for my underbite (while still explaining when I would know if I need it), and not to let other drs pressure me into it. He cleans my teeth, does fillings, advice in no time at all and he takes me on Saturdays around my work schedule. I've heard his receptionist can be rude (I've never experienced that - she is quite strict sounding but I don't see what the big deal is, and I've missed appointments before and they just called me to reschedule, no problem). Dr. Sitterle is my actual favorite dentist I've ever had, and never had a problem with any of my weird insurances, he took them all! I will def continue going to him as long as I'm in Pittsburgh.

I've been going to Dr. George Sitterle for several years now. I didn't go to a dentist for several years before I found Dr. Sitterle due to some poor experiences with other dentists. Dr. Sitterle has made going to the dentist a much less anxiety-inducing experience than anyone else ever has. He also is extremely fast and efficient. You don't feel like a training dummy for a hygienist, you get right in quickly to see him and then out again. My average appointment time is less than 30 minutes from the time I arrive. He has also done the most pain -free fillings I've ever had. Thanks Dr. Sitterle!

I have been going to Dr Sitterle since I was 11 and I am now in my 40s. My mom goes to him as does my daughter, she's 8, and my aunt. Admittedly when I was a younger adult I had issues with keeping appointments. But the minute I called him, him and his wife welcomed me back like no time had passed. Dr Sitterle takes the time to explain everything to me as a patient and as the mother of a patient. I strongly recommend him to anyone who asks me. As for people saying his wife is short with them I have personally never seen this as she as always been nothing but friendly and kind to me. Dr Sitterle is hands down the best dentist I know.

Dr George is fantastic. He is the best dentist I have ever went to. He is kind, gentle, and we come up with a plan together on how best to care for my teeth.

Very good doctor, he helped my son to save tooth when another one wanted to move it out!! Really recommend!

Excellent dentist and staff

All I gotta say is whoever is commenting as a professional sounds so unprofessional. Let the hatred come but if you’re in medical field make things right. Don’t automatically attack other people for their own opinion. He’s prob a great dentist but all these reviews strayed me away from any comfort. But if your staff or the dentist is responding in such immature matters…. What clientele is that gonna bring you? Idk thought about going there but won’t accept that behaviour and response instead of apologetically trying to make things right for own mistakes.

We finally find a dentist who my kids where comfortable with and I as well had great results to only be disappointed in his wife who is the secretary. She was very mean , unprofessional and called me trash . My oldest drove two hours to see the dentist and was turned away for a bill that I owe for my youngest child . My oldest has his own insurance and doesn't live in the state . She was so ignorant and told us not to come back . Instead of giving me an option to pay the bill. She lost five of us as patients. She authorized many people credit card without confirmation and that should of been the red flag . Dr sitterly is a great dentist , but the wife is ruining it for his business. Very disappointed 😞

Called to schedule an appt. A very rude woman answered the phone, scolded me for saying I was a patient when I said “I am looking to schedule a new patient appointment”. Then when I said my insurance was Cigna, said “yeah we don’t take that, we hate that insurance” and hung up on me. They are showing as in network for Cigna so seems like that was made up. Whoever answered the phone should get a new job b/c customer service is not meant for you. Incredibly rude.

Gotta love how this Dr. continually defends his toxic behavior and his receptionist's terrible treatment of clients.
Notice how even before the recent bigotry, the bulk of the reviews explicitly mention the receptionist behaving erratically and treating people poorly? And he continues to double down.
You know how being anxious about going to the dentist is so incredibly common that many people require anti-anxiety medications or additional sedatives in order to do it? Well, apparently trying to accommodate your own anxiety by carrying a soft, comforting object is so upsetting that it makes the receptionist and the dentist believe they are correct in treating you with disdain. He's even coming into the reviews defending his abusive behaviors.

I miss a appointment and the dentist wife made a big deal and call in morning bc my ride could bring me my appointment was until 4 so I called at 9. So I tried to make a difference on different on and because I could make on the on she pick out she told me off she could me all the name like bitchs and told me to find a new dentist. I have a 6 year old that goes to school she can't miss school to come here..I was so up set. Bc I really like the dentist. But if that how he runs there please I am cool.

Congratulations to the receptionist for single handedly ruining her husbands (the dentist) career! Compassion is a hallmark of ANY healthcare worker, including those on the administration side, and she has missed that mark by 10,000 miles. I’m sorry that the devil has instilled so much hate in her heart, but I’ll pray for her. Don’t come here (you couldn’t even pay me to at this point), receptionist isn’t professional at all.

Receptionist/wife is nuts. I would normally take what I was told with a grain of salt, except for the fact that I see so many others with a similar story.

How disgusting of you to defend your evil workers for discriminating OVER A STUFFED ANIMAL. I am Christian, yes. And I can discern evil as any Christian can. But to harass someone over bringing in a stuffed animal that you didn’t like and to claim is demonic is so incredibly rude. God calls us to love all people, including people we disagree with or don’t quite understand. Maybe next time, instead of berating someone you don’t understand, ask questions and start a conversation to better understand someone’s morality and heart. Shame on you. Our God would never react in such a way. It’s cruel people like you who give the Christian faith a bad name by smiting people you don’t understand.

I’ll be praying for y’all to gain some brain cells and compassion before insulting random customers for no reason.

Also every freaking review on here is complaining about your rude receptionist. Is it really worth all the bad reviews to keep her around?

I wrote down the wrong time so I missed my first appointment and I received a call from the receptionist yelling and threatening me! Seems a little excessive for a missed appointment but glad I don’t have to deal with her going forward. She has a dark heart find a different dentist!
