Hilton Garden Inn Alexandria Old Town National Harbor

It's been a year since I was last here, and the rooms were pretty dated then. I arrived last night and was pleasantly surprised to find that they are renovating! Big improvement in the rooms, everything is fresh. This hotel is in a great location, and about a 3 minute walk to Wholefoods, CVS, and Table Talk (a good local breakfast joint). Hotel gym is above "basic" and gets the job done. A bonus is the rooftop patio?

Being just off King St in old Alexandria it is extremely easy to explore Old Town. Very nice rooms. Large shower. Very quiet location. Breakfast buffet is also very reasonable, although you might want to explore the many restaurants on King instead.

Our room was very clean. It had had a Keurig machine for coffee and a good view. The bathroom was nicely updated. The hotel has a pretty nice roof deck and exercise room, and friendly staff. We have a small dog and hands down this was the nicest dog-friendly hotel we’ve ever visited. They have valet parking in a garage. There’s no surface self-parking. Big plus: the metro is a short walk.

Hotel rooms and accommodations were as expected from this type of hotel. However, the bar area was a shocking surprise. The food was better than I expected. The biggest surprise was the drinks and cocktails. The bartender Connor made such creative and high quality drinks you would have thought you were at a fine dining restaurant. He was very engaging with the entire bar and even though he seemed to be under supplied he was making a large variety of drinks for customers. I ended up staying until last call both nights with a handful of other guests.

This Hilton garden inn was very nice! The bar & food areas weren’t open all day. There was a very strong odor of gas once you walk in the hotel & in the main lobby… we tried to tell the staff but they seem to just brush it off…the smell was there throughout the duration of our stay.. they really need to get that gas smell checked out because that is very dangerous

This is a great hotel -- great location and great service. We had to stay for a long stretch with two dogs and they were very accommodating to our needs. Good gym, cool roof terrace, and simple but cool bar area. Definitely recommend.

Awesome hotel, rooms were clean, and the bartender makes a great old fashioned!

To begin the location is actually as perfect as one could want at the price offered. If you look at other hotels in the area the extra fees above the room rate invalidate their published room rates. While this hotel does charge those fees as well they are much lower in comparison. Parking is $37 a day but who needs a car with the blue line a stones throw away. The staff at the desk and valet were amazing. I am wheelchair bound and needed the chair lift at the entrance to enter and exit. The staff were always willing to help me at every turn. The room was clean, modern, and in tip top shape. Everything looked new. The only gripes were a short tempered waitress at the breakfast area, the thermostat in the room put off a fair amount of ambient light with the room darkened for sleep, and the bed was a little on the hard side for our liking. We had a great stay.

This HGI Hotel is the best one I have stayed at so far. And I have stayed here at least six times. You will not be disappointed! Location is great and staff members are very nice/pleasamt.

Excellent location to quickly access the metro for Washington DC without paying DC prices. The rooms were great and the service was fantastic. 5 stars all the way!

Denise, at the front desk, provided the absolute best experience I've had in 30+ years of traveling. She was kind, offered recommendations for local venues, and interacted with me and my family when entering and exiting the hotel. A true class act and a great representative of the Hilton brand and this specific location.

Our room was very clean, the beds were comfortable after a day of traveling, and a great location for Alexandria.

Highly recommend for travelers in or out of DCA. Walking distance to DC Metro (King St Station).

I just wanted to first and foremost give the manager Joe a shout out!! There was an issue with a double charge for the room I booked, and this man went above and beyond to get it fixed and to show how apologetic he was that it happened. It's rare to come across employees/managers like him, and I just wanted him and the company know that he's great and truly appreciated. Because of you Joe whenever I'm in town, I'll be staying here at this Hilton. Also, the rooms were clean and breakfast was great. The location is perfect as well, it's right across the street the a train station.

Great hotel in old Alexandria. Clean rooms, friendly wonderful staff, reasonable breakfast options, loved the fresh fruits bowl. Extra happy for that. Delicious coffee. Overall a wonderful experience.

I thoroughly enjoy my stay at the Hilton garden Alexandria. The room was just what I needed. The bartender Connor was excellent, he recommended trying their burger and it was superior. I will definitely be back.

Nice location. Easy walk to all the restaurants and shopping on King Street.

Great location a few blocks from the Kings Street metro station. Very clean and well run. Only down sides were poor breakfast service and lsck of business computer and printer.

Love that this hotel is dog friendly. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are generic hotel but nice and contemporary in decor.
Private parking deck under hotel for fee which felt worth it.
Area around hotel is safe, I walked the dog around at midnight and had great walks.
I would recommend and would come back.

Booked the corner room with floor to ceiling windows and loved it. Location is wonderful as it's near the metro and right next to King Street.

Parking can be pricey, but it's average for the area. We ended up parking on the street over the weekend and at a nearby garage. We found no need to park at the hotel since we weren't planning on using our car to get around.

I haven't had a bad experience in most of the hotels I book in the area. I've stayed in 3 hotels in Alexandria, 4 in Crystal City, and 1 in Rosslyn twice. This will be one of the first ones I will check in the future. Given the price of other nearby hotels and recent reviews when I book will be the deciding factor. Very competitive hotels in the area.

They have great customer service! The guy who checked us in was so helpful I wish I could remember his name. I also love that it’s a pet friendly hotel! The gym was top notch, beautiful rooftop space, and I loved the lobby.
