We came in here on a Sunday night after my Granddaughters recital. The Jazz band was wonderful. Food was fantastic and so were the drinks.

Amazing vegetarian dish and delicious drink but my favorite was dessert! Next time I'm starting with dessert. Jazz tonight was amazing with Elin on the mic:)

I've been going to Laporta's for years and have never been disappointed. My friends and I all signed up for email specials and never let a coupon go to waste. No more lunch menu, just one price all day, so we didn't miss the opportunity to try the new $25 Washington Restaurant Week lunch special. It's been extended, so we plan to go again next week.

We absolutely loved our brunch experience today at Laporta's. The food was exceptional, the atmosphere very comfortable and the service was impeccable. Today's Sunday Brunch featured a tented guitarist that set just the right ambience for the afternoon.

Kay had the perfectly done scallops and angel hair pasta and I had the seafood crepe. Photos attached. We were tempted by the pecan pie and shared an absolutely amazing slice -- and concluded our meal by trying to figure out how the chef had managed an absolutely perfect crust. Run, don't walk to this delightful restaurant. We're coming back!

Simply amazing food and service! Wyndham resorts recommended it as the best Italian restaurant in the area so we thought we would give it a try.

Our party of 6 walked in, a background trio was playing softly and water and buns were immediately put onto the table. Our server Joe came by and made some excellent recommendations! Hangar steak, the salmon dish and the wild mushroom pasta were simply amazing! Then the lemon tart and the carrot cake did not disappoint!

I liked the fact that Joe said he has tried everything on the menu and instantly gave us his top 3 favorites. He said he and his roommate eat there frequently which says quite a lot for a restaurant.

I highly recommend giving it a try if your in the area. If it's anything like our experience, you will not be disappointed!

I came for the Jazz Brunch on Sunday at noon, and my experience was absolutely enjoyable. Stephanie, the hostess, was so very helpful in helping us place a reservation which was ready as soon as we arrived. Our server Adonis was pleasant and professional throughout our time at Laporta's, with a great smile and a sense of humor as well.

I got scrambled eggs with bacon, sausage and hash brown potatoes. Others in my party got the trout, steak and eggs, French toast and eggs Benedict. Everyone was thoroughly pleased. For dessert we ordered the apple cobbler and the Godiva chocolate cake with ice cream, and finished it off with freshly brewed coffee and espresso. The jazz guitarist played relaxing music and added to the overall ambience.

We will definitely be returning, thank you!

2nd generation family-owned restaurant with a mix of dishes that lean Italian, Greek/Medi, Seafood, and American bar fare. They have weekend specials every weekend (entree and dessert), and a special Mon/Tues dinner/wine combo menu. Bottom line, the food is EXCELLENT, and also priced very well.

One of (if not) the best Gin selections in Old Town! The Bourbon and Scotch selections are also above average. 8 beers on tap that largely stay the same (unfortunately).

Live Jazz every night on the restaurant side, which depending on the group/performer can still be heard on the bar/lounge side.

My wife and I went here at the last minute before they closed (7/16/21) and it was a great choice. Laporta's is cute and quaint. I especially love how our waiter really loves his job and loves who he works for, because it definitely showed. My expectations weren't that high walking in honestly but they well exceeded it!. My wife and I both loved the seafood soup and the butter bread for the mushroom appetizer. One minor note that would need changing in my opinion would be the use of only fresh ingredients. For example, I had the clam and shrimp dish, the dish consisted of 4 fresh clams and throughout the noodles was canned clams, and you can definitely taste the difference....but again overall the food was satisfying! If your looking for a family environment type service definitely visit this place.👌🏾

First time here and they didn’t disappoint. The food was fabulous and the atmosphere was so pleasant. Smooth Jazz over the delicious crab cakes. Everyone enjoyed the evening and it was a great pre Father’s Day dinner. Kudos to everyone.

Had date night here and loved it. Everything from the food, drinks, service and live music was amazing. This is definitely a place worth visiting. Noise level is a little high w the live music but nothing outrageous. The place is clean and they have free parking in the garage directly behind the restaurant. Great place overall!

I went to this restaurant at the suggestion of my hotel. I was not disappointed. I consider myself an amateur foodie. 😍 That being said, this place is PHENOMENAL!! The people are fantastic, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is fun.

If you want posh they have that as well with live Jazz music. It was truly like Cheers come to life! They really knew many patrons by name and was very interactive. Never seen service done this well in a while.

Frankie is a gem. Hes quite hilarious. He was the life of the restaurant if you ask me. I'd go again just to see how Frankie's doing and to chomp on some buffalo wings. Wonderful restaurant. BRAVO!

Good food. I really enjoyed my dessert. That Carrot cake is to die for. Will definitely be here for all my dinner date. Thanks for making amazing dishes

Did the jazz NYE experience and it was so fun. Great food, the atmosphere was very NYE. Easy parking behind the restaurant as well, which can be hard in old town. Over all,can't wait to go back.

This place was absolutely amazing from the very beginning. Had reservations and was seated promptly. Nice, romantic ambiance. The live jazz perfomers were great, filled the air with jazz rhythms I love. The food was perfection, kudos to the chef. Service and staff very nice, warming and professional. Loved every minute

This family owned restaurant feels like home. The waiters shared the history of the restaurant, were attentive, and efficient. There was live music, light jazz on the piano. The food was excellent. The fried oysters appetizer was great! I had the Haddock and it was flavorful.

Outstanding Foods and service! A little taste of heaven! The perfect place for music and food and drinks and I mean perfect. Their TuTu Mare by far the best I’ve ever had! Chunks of clams and loaded with shrimps and the sauce I mean authentic you can taste the love the chef put into the dish actually all the dishes were magnificent… we will be returning ❤❤❤❤

This review is for a Thanksgiving Day brunch that my family attended on 23 November 2023 at Laporta Restaurant on Duke Street in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. The cost for the brunch was $69.99 per person and we all agree that we received our money's worth.

The entire experience was absolutely wonderful. Even though we arrived at the restaurant 30 minutes late, the Reservationist was very helpful in making adjustments to fit us in for our delayed arrival. From the first moment we stepped foot in the restaurant, the staff was unfailingly attentive and accommodating. As for the food, a basket with a variety of different breads was delivered to us not long after we settled in our seats. Not long after that, we were offered a choice between a green salad with corn kernels and dates tossed in a ginger dressing or a butternut squash soup. My family and I all chose the salad. The main entree was a traditional Thanksgiving meal with turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, steamed green beans, creamed peas with onions, and a sweet potato. A tray was also delivered to our table that contained cranberry sauce, sliced carrots and celery, and an assortment of hot peppers. The portions for both the bread basket, salad and main entree were very generous and delicious. As for dessert, we were given an array of choices. My brother chose a slice of apple cobbler, I chose a slice of pumpkin pie and my sister chose the chocolate godiva mousse cake. All three of us thoroughly enjoyed the food and the wonderful service.

What a gem of a restaurant! This place has real holly growing out front and great curb appeal. We had to stop and take pictures before going in. We were given a big welcome and ushered to the best table in the place, right in front of the semi-circular window, with a great view. The entrees are masterpieces!! My cheese ravioli, which usually at most restaurants is a staple dish that is buried in sauce and non-descript was presented in first class, see photos. The flavor of the Marinara sauce was bursting, where you could taste each of the individual delicious ingredients. Wow. And the service! Our waitress from Pakistan was nice, attentive and would check in with us several times during the evening. ... then the jazz started up. Great live music! Who does that anymore. More restaurants can take a hint from this place, great food, great service, great ambiance, and great music. Highly rated.
