A La Lucia

I came here for restaurant week and loved it. I had the spinach manicotti as my main course. All the food was great. The appetizers and dessert were excellent. I shall return next time I am in town.

Great service. Everyone was very attentive. The spinach manicotti was good as well as the vegetable soup. The Caesar salad was good. It was authentic even down to the two fish that came with it. I would go back.

I'm so happy this place answered their phone! The pasta was delicious and you can get a fabulous bottle of wine discounted. Our new "go to" place. And super nice people. ❤

Absolutely delicious! The spaghetti with bolognese half size was the perfect amount and the fresh bread was incredible. The restaurant was very laid back and service was excellent.

Lot of homemade pasta and sauce. I overheard the owner talking to some customers about how he eats fish everyday and gets in-season fresh fish for the restaurant. He was happily offering samplers from vegetable dishes. Sounded like a genuine person interested in offering honest good food.

Fantastic food and service! Casual atmosphere and was not rushed….. the best Italian food in Old Town! Can’t wait to return…..

We went last Saturday to A Lucia, and the food was pretty authentic. I ordered the half spaghetti a la boloñesa, and my partner ordered the half linguini with clams, and we also have their chocolate cake with gelato. For us, the portions were perfect since the half allows you to get a more European portion size, which is enough for us, but I would recommend getting the full portion size if you are looking for a more traditional American portion size.

Very nice neighborhood restaurant with a good- sized menu. All the three of our dishes were excellent and the service was good.

Great as always. We ordered take out fir this cold winter night. Caesar’s salad was perfect abd long with fresh bread. My linguine and clams were superb with whole fresh little baby clams and well seasoned broth. My wife’s chicken and mushrooms Marsala was also excellent. Well done. Highly recommend for an authentic Italian dish.

Quaint environment with fresh food. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Food was very fresh and everything was surprisingly light for Italian fare (in a good way. I didn’t leave feeling heavy or overly full). The mixed salad comes tossed in the most delicious balsamic dressing. Will definitely be back.

Went here to break the Passover fast, and it was a wonderful decision. I had the fettuccine and salmon (yum!) and delicious chocolate cake. Service was slow, and we didn’t have water during our meal, but it appeared understaffed, AND it was Easter evening, so I can’t blame them. Welcoming atmosphere, kind servers, and delicious food, so I would definitely recommend.

My husband and I came to A LA Lucia for date night and were very pleased! It was nice to get out without the kids and enjoy an up-scale meal in downtown Alexandria. I got chicken marsala with a red wine (I don't remember the name, I just got what the waitress recommended lol) & my husband got salmon. The canoli I got for the drive was AMAZING (it was obviously piped right before serving which is how it's SUPPOSED to be served - a lot of places get this wrong resulting in a soggy canoli). Overall, we were both very pleased and will be back! =)

Been going to this fantastic Italian restaurant for more than six years. The staff is always cordial and friendly. The food is fantastic (though the cocktails could use a little work). The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming. Also has a private back room if you want to host a party, always a plus.

Being part Sician and coming from NY/NJ where its fairly easy to find quality, authentic Italian food.. it has been very difficult to find good Italian food here. Until now. So glad to have found A La Lucia! Highly recommend it. Try the Rigatoni, you won't be disappointed.

My wife and I went for dinner last night and were very pleased. Real Ceasar salad, bread was delicious, and we both really liked our pasta. She got the homemade tiramisu for desert and loved it. Good service too.

My husband and I thought we would try a fancier option for restaurant week date night and I’m not sure we could have picked a better option if we tried. It’s rare to find a place where every plate is good let alone excellent, and that’s exactly what we got with our three course meal. If these dishes aren’t straight from Italy they’re darn close. With free parking on all the nearby streets and a park by the water within walking distance, this is a great special occasion spot and worth every dollar. Thanks for such a great experience, can’t wait for next time!
