Mela’s provides an exceptional dining experience for anyone to enjoy authentic Ethiopian Cuisine. We had the Sambusa, Chicken and Fish Tibs with half platter of veggies and it was delicious. We were so ready to dig in that I forgot to take photos of the beautifully plated food. You won’t be disappointed.

Authentic Ethiopian food and this is a must recommendation if you are ever in the Decatur area. For sure to try Vegetarian & Vegan all of them. I am not gone go into details but check the place out.

Such a beautiful upscale Ethiopian restaurant that serves traditional Ethiopian food!! The Mela special is a must! This hidden gem of a restaurant is tucked away quietly in North Decatur, but definitely deserves more recognition.

Quality food at a fair price! Hilina’s service went above and beyond my expectations. Even though I have been to a couple of other Ethiopian restaurants, this is the first time I learnt the traditional way of eating the food. The ambience is also very clean and pretty. Would come back and recommend others to come.

Solidly good food with plenty of injera to go with. Would happily get food here again. We had both the vegetable platter and the beef tibs. Highly recommend the veggies.

Ordered the Mela Special and Veggie Combo and OMG! First, the food presentation was so nice. Then the taste was amazing. The Kitfo Leb Leb was very good and the Beef Tibs was on point. Veggies were cooked very well.

Service was excellent. Our waitress kept coming back to our table asking how things were and made sure we always had enough injera.

This place is really an experience to enjoy from the Ethiopian food, the Ethiopian artwork and even the coffee ceremony (which we’re doing next time!).

My husband and I, along with our 2 month old daughter, dined here today. We had chicken tibs and the super veggie combo. It was plenty enough for us to share with each other. EVERYTHING was amazing. I’m big on presentation and customer service, and they exceeded my expectations. The price of the food was very reasonable. (They could really charge twice as much for their food and it would still be worth it.) The owner and our server were very hospitable and made our first experience here a pleasant one. We highly recommend Mela Ethiopian Kitchen and will definitely dine here again.

This place is great!

I stopped by here with my mom because it was on the way to Tucker. I was a bit reluctant to try this place at first because I didn't know what to expect from an Ethiopian restaurant, but it was absolutely amazing! We had the green lentils (don't remember the name of the dish) and it was delicious! The staff is also very friendly. I'll definitely be back!

Great, authentic Ethiopian food and an awesome environment. There are lots of yummy options even if you are vegetarian/vegan. Customer service is excellent. The set up is very nice with beautiful original Ethiopian art on the walls — definitely coming back!

Delicious! I tried the Veg Combo and Sambusa last night and both were just what I was craving. So happy to have discovered such a good Ethiopian restaurant so close. Looking forward to exploring the menu. The spices, textures and ingredients all work together for a heartwarming, wholesome, and mouthwatering experience.

Mela is an authentic, delicious experience every time. I have received only wonderful, personalized service and stunning dishes that served not only my tastes, but also my body while having a beautiful presentation. I actually left my credit card there by accident and the staff held it securely until I could retrieve it. If you seek great food at a very reasonable price from a family-run restaurant, you have found the prize!

I came here on Friday and you have to ask for Mariah she the best ! She gave us great service and the drinks was delicious! She will definitely have me coming back ! Food and hook was great to!
