The two bridges on US 90 that cross the Mississippi River from New Orleans to the Right bank are known locally as the Crescent City Connection. We find that the bridges are elegant in appearance and generally do a very good job. Currently the lights that add to the appearance at night are out, but the State has approved funds and repair should be in the near future.

The pair of bridges on I 90 across the Mississippi River - called Crescent City Connection (CCC), or Greater New Orleans Bridges are tied as the fifth - longest cantilever bridges in the WORLD ! Eastbound bridge was opened in April 1958 and the west bound bridge opened in September 1988.
Each span carries 4 general use automobile lanes. The westbound span has 2 reversible HOV lanes across the river.

The best place to photograph this bridge is actually from the Mississippi River Trail at a spot just northeast from this bridge's marker. There is an inlet from the intersection of Socrates St. and Brooklyn Ave. After crossing the railroad tracks, there's a big empty lot to the right to park your car (assuming you're driving with all your camera equipment). Climb up the levee and you'll get a nice panoramic view of both the city and the bridge. If you're really ambitious, you can fit both in a super wide panoramic shot. The angle is slightly off compared to the photo spot labelled "New Orleans Downtown View" just north of here in Algiers Point, but the addition of being able to add the Riverwalk and the bridge to your composition might be worthwhile to check out this spot.

My daughter and I were driving over last evening and she was so amazed at the beautiful sunset. Her phone wasn't charged as usual so she reached for mine.I try to tell her always have your camera and phone ready and fully charged so that she can capture the moment.

Such a large, beautiful bridge. It's the most downstream bridge that spans on the Mississippi. I stayed at an airbnb nearby, and loved the view of the bridge every morning.

Friendly drivers and staff. I use a mobility scooter and they handled my device with care and they helped me when I needed it .

Awesome bridge! We drove over it to Algiers and also sat by the Mississippi River and ate our beignets. Also, if you’ve seen Deja Vu, it’s a movie landmark 😁

Go to the Mississippi River Trail which is right under the bridge. The pictures speak for themselves.

It is a beautiful bridge. It was really cool to sit on the Carnival Valor Cruise ship before we headed to sea. Lots of barges passing by and many other water craft passed by and went under the bridge.

This bridge is just over 23 miles across with lake below. Freaky. Thought I was over the ocean but it's Lake Pontchartrain. Worth seeing and driving over but again freaked me out. Water feels too close for comfort and I imagine little scary during a good rain storm.

I'm a local or at least used to be. Went over this bridge so many times. Enjoy the photos from the bridge.

I'm from New Orleans I may like driving back and forth on the bridge but sometimes it can be a little scary because it's too high to drive by but whatever you do DON'T STOP ON THE BRIDGE.

Always love looking at the fridge no matter what direction I look at it it still amazes me that it overcomes a river so wild and free with current that would take any man under and so powerful to move things at will
