Exceptional Dental of Mid-City

I had a fantastic experience here. Dr. Alice was warm, nonjudgmental, and informative. Rachel, my hygienist, took care to explain my options, checked on me often to ensure I wasn’t in pain or discomfort, and assuaged all my fears (I have dental anxiety, so this was especially helpful to me). They were also transparent about prices and billing, which is new for me. A+ experience—would recommend to anyone!

Dr Alice was great and all the hygienists and people at the front. Dr Alice especially was easy to talk to and ask questions and handled a curveball with a calm and competent manner when doing a filling (they discovered I had a second cavity that hadn't shown up on the xray). She and the assistant didn't cause any alarm for me while they were working on my mouth, handled it and let me know afterwards it was done. This helped me to stay calm and not worry when I wouldn't be able to ask questions anyways. Great great great experience and would recommend to anyone. They were very prompt in scheduling my appointment from the time I requested it online and prompt in follow up appointments to check on my bite after the fillings. 10/10!

I love going to my dentist! Always efficient, calming, they give you a warm neck towel, and the hygienist is the gentlest I have ever experienced. I also appreciate that my dentist explains what he is doing/ looking for when he does my oral exam. The fish tank in the front is also a beautiful thing to look at while you’re waiting!

I believe taking care of your teeth is paramount to having good overall health... from Dr Alice to Jenn and Corinne I believe I am fortunate to have the best care available. Dr Alice has made recommendations that previous dentists have overlooked or not astute enough to consider. This caring attention to detail will impact my teeth for lifetime.
My teeth cleanings are in good hands with Jenn as she has a skillful ability to gently clean my teeth thoroughly. Corrine does a great job with x rays.
I always look forward to my visits as it is a very enjoyable experience... which of course cannot always be said with a dental appointment.

I have had so many bad experiences as well as PTSD with all of my previous dental experiences. So much so that I came in extremely nervous and crying on my first visit to Exceptional dental. The staff took my reaction in stride and made me feel extremely calm and at ease. Dr Alice was not only competent, but also extremely kind and straight forward when describing her treatment recommendations while handling my dental emergency! I walked in scared and fearing the worst and left with not only my issue corrected with and plan to complete the work but also confidence in their ability to treat me going forward without fear. Thank you so much!

Update:
If I could give them 10 stars I would! Went back today for my follow up as well as had a new issue. Due to my great experience last time I went in without any fear or anxiety even though I was in a lot of pain. They took my new issue serious and bundled it in with my follow up appointment without a problem.
I am very impressed with the care and consideration I receive here. From the moment I walk in, Dorothy already knows me by first name and even offers to hold my hand if I needed. Kaitlyn is very kind and extremely professional while handling my transaction all the while making sure that I have a complete understanding of the process and charges. Asia is the best! She really knows her field of work and I never feel uncomfortable when asking all of my questions. It has only been twice that I’ve been in her care and she takes time to listen and remember all of my concerns as well as fears. Dr. Alice has completely changed my mind on dentists, never making me feel embarrassed or uncomfortable. I used to avoid going to the dentist’s at all costs but now I can’t wait to schedule future checkups and preventative visits thanks to the team at Exceptional dental!

The name is accurate. Everyone who works the were extremely professional and quite accommodating. My wife had a semi emergency and we just became full time residents in Nola and didn’t have a dentist yet. They fit her right in and explained everything and handled her with care. We no longer have to for a dentist. We have already recommended them to other family members who live here

I’ve been going to Exceptional Dentist for years. Nice relaxing atmosphere , very friendly environment. Everyone is always smiling. The Hygienist & Doctors are so nice. I love all of them, they know you by name. I highly recommend them, I even referred my sister.

I started with Exceptional Dental Mid-City in the spring and through 2 visits, I am extremely happy that I came here. Their entire staff is just very friendly and make coming to the dentist (which is not something most people get excited about!) a very pleasant experience. Rachael, my hygienist, does everything possible to make my cleaning as comfortable as she can while being as thorough as she can. Her lack of judgement in giving me guidance on products and general care has resulted in my best oral hygiene in years.

Awesome friendly crew here, my dental hygienist Jenn is super cool, she does an awesome job cleaning my teeth and helps make it ad painless as possible unlike other hygienist in the past that have made it feel like a torture chamber. Definitely go with Jenn!

It has been a delight consulting at the Midcity office. From the pleasant front desk staff to the doctors, everyone has been incredibly professional and attentive. The atmosphere here is welcoming and comforting, making each visit a positive experience. I appreciate the expertise and care provided by the doctors, who take the time to listen to my concerns and provide thorough explanations. The entire team at Midcity office has made my consultations enjoyable and stress-free. I highly recommend this office to anyone in need of exceptional medical care.

I’ve struggled with dental anxiety and fear from childhood trauma which resulted in me needing quite a bit of work done. Everyone in this office is so kind, welcoming and reassuring. I’m one of Dr. Adragna’s patients and so far, I couldn’t be happier! He is straight to the point and does great work. Jamaica is so gentle when doing the X-rays and she is fast. Jen is the best hygienist ever! She is very thorough during cleanings and makes me feel comfortable. Her words of encouragement make me want to keep up with my dental hygiene and be better. For once in my life, I’m excited for my dental visits (never thought I’d say those words :p)

Very cool vibe (décor, music, etc) and awesome staff. Took care of me so fast. I’m used to waiting hours at the dentist and this was like 15 minutes while Avengers Endgame played on the screen in front of me. Definitely recommend.

I had an unusual issue in that a front tooth cracked and a large chunk fell out. The mid-city office got me in quickly for an assessment and then scheduled a follow up appointment for the next day that they were open. The tooth was beautifully and completely restored!

Staff is always friendly, greet you at the door and the place looks clean. Just wish there was more one on one with the dentist to address any concerns. You have to catch them before the oral exam/cancer screening is over. Overall good experience and great hygienists.

A little hesitant about visiting the dentist?! Have no fear! Exceptional is the right name for this practice. Staff is friendly and top notch, from check-in to reviewing care plan with you. Dr. Alice is a very caring, patient and an exceptional dentist.

I love Dr. Alice she is the best in town. Jen is lovely she’s gentle and get your mouth clean and smelling great. Thanks team keep up the good work.

Pricy provider but great staff, so a big 5 stars for that. An employee there was really down to earth and calmly helped me settle a weird extra $800 I was told I owed but did not owe. I'll be back!

Things to note, mostly related to ambiance:
- Everyone who worked on my teeth had really pleasant voices! Just what you want to hear when weird stuff is going on in your mouth. Dr. Setti in particular would hum while he was working, which put me at ease.
- They blast modern pop music all the time, so if you're sensitive to that, pack some earplugs. I can tolerate it, but know going in that it'll feel like you're hanging out in a Planet Fitness.
- There are TVs in every room that I guess you could ask to turn off. On my first visit, I had a root canal and they played The Avengers (2012) back to back twice during the operation. On my second visit, they had a long YouTube video of like "Relaxing Cabin" playing that looked like a 2000s hidden object computer game, then I had to watch an ad for Pepperidge Farms Milano cookies and one for a Panasonic camera. They should try to get some money off of those ads instead of giving YouTube free money.
- There's a huge canvas photograph of Dave Matthews playing an acoustic guitar for all the Dave freaks out there.
- There are a bunch of weird decorations in the office that say stuff like "MY DENTIST IS A BOSS" that feel like being in an elementary school classroom, but I kinda love it.

From the time I walked into the office I was treated with care. Everyone who took care of me was so professional and focused on my care. It’s very refreshing to experience this type of customer focused service - that’s hard to come by these days!
