I had a wonderful experience at Cochon, a restaurant that serves authentic Cajun and Southern dishes with locally sourced ingredients. The food was delicious, fresh, and flavorful, and the service was friendly and attentive.

I started with the gator meat, which was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the spices were out of this world. For the main course, I ordered the Smoked ribs, which was a generous portion of tender and juicy meat with braised baked potatoes. The ribs were cooked to perfection and the sides complemented it well.

I had no room for dessert but from what I saw and heard, I missed something heavenly.

I highly recommend Cochon to anyone who loves Cajun and Southern cuisine, or who wants to try something new and exciting. The restaurant has a cozy and rustic atmosphere, and the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Cochon is one of the best restaurants in New Orleans, and I can’t wait to go back.

Fantastic Cajun restaurant with excellent food and service! Really enjoyed sitting at the kitchen bar watching the chefs create. Kevin, the chef at the fire pit, was very personable. Our server had excellent suggestions and was very friendly. Everything was amazing from the hot rolls with salted butter, moonshine flight, mac & cheese, shrimp, and meat pie. Definitely a must when in New Orleans!

Cochon is an excellent restaurant! We sat at the bar and Jason took us on an excellent cocktail tour. If you're looking for a drink drop the menu and ask Jason to make you something in the direction that you like. The pork belly appetizer was superb & the glazed carrots we an excellent addition to the amazing short rib entree. Overall, a fun & energetic atmosphere with amazing food & good service, highly recommend Cochon as one of the better restaurants in a city filled with very good ones.

Great aesthetic, delicious food, wonderful service. The chocolate pudding with Carmel cream and crumble is a must dessert. Everything was awesome. I especially liked the fish and pork. The Boudin balls were a very nice starter. Service was on point.

The rare time I review a place after one visit because I'm not sure when I'll be back in town. Service at the bar was good and the food was fantastic. If you like oysters, definitely get the " Wood Fired oysters with chili garlic butter". I never order oysters but did on recommendation and they were fantastic. Next I tried the rabbit & dumplings. It was amazing - if I make it back ill have a hard time not getting it again. For drinks I tried the "nutty by nature", which was excellent, and an old fashioned.

Outstanding. The food is so well executed. Lots of flavor and technique but still honest and simple enough to enjoy on a recurring basis. Probably my favorite place on my culinary trip to Nola. The drinks were also great. A must.

A super casual atmosphere does not mean they don’t take their food and drink seriously. Staff is very detailed in their descriptions of booze and food. The respect for whole animal butchery is perfection. Everything we ate was super tasty and cocktails were out of bounds. A true must eat here

Cochon has stood the test of time with consistency great food, attentive service, reasonable prices and the capacity to accommodate walk-ins. I especially enjoy snagging one of the precious few seats at the kitchen counter to watch food be prepared and plated. You can't beat the chef sending out a special treat to those who seize this opportunity. We scored a great rabbit liver pate, which was not something we would ordinarily order, but were grateful to try. Regardless of where you sit, don't fail to check the daily specials menu for surprisingly affordable pricing on several great dishes. We found service to be caring, friendly and willing to grant special requests, so don't fear asking for what you want. Lastly, Cochon uses Resy for reservations, which leaves Android users out in the cold having to call. That said, if you're already in the Rest system, Cochon will look up your number and treat you kindly. So if you're maxed out on fried seafood or Cajun and Creole cuisine, Cochon is a great choice for smoked meats, fire-roasted fish, mac and cheese, and heavenly collard greens in a warm and welcoming environment.

Absolutely delicious! We ordered several different things from the menu and everything was incredible! From the second you enter the restaurant you’re met with friendly faces and enticing smells. Highly recommend going if you live in or are visiting New Orleans.

Great service and vibe! The food was good but a bit pricey. Very vibrant atmosphere with lots of action going on, but not too relaxing if that’s what you wish. Fried alligator was great!

Next level cuisine. A foodie find of abundance in all categories. This place hits the nail on the head. An unforgettable meal. They have Uncle Nearest Rye. Perfect Old Fashioned. Perfect Sazarak. Perfect pairing suggestions with desserts. You simply must experience this perfection. It's what New Orleans is truly meant for, end to end.

INCREDIBLE southern food! The rabbit and dumplings are classic comfort food with a twist. The namesake cochon is out of this world! Cocktails were great as well. My only knock was we waited quite a bit for our table even though we were very much on time for our reservation. The service at the table well made up for it.

We stopped in to Cochon Restaurant for lunch and though the restaurant was full they were kind enough to seat us at the kitchen view. This turned out to be a blessing as we were able to see a lot of the great dishes being prepared. We found that the food was very good with a large and varied menu. Even though the place is large and busy it did not take long to be served.

Had an absolutely incredible meal here a year ago.
Cracklins, beautiful soft dinner rolls, Shrimp and devilled egg Gumbo, Crawfish Pie all incredible.
Loved the broiled Oysters in a really clever tray, made it easy to get all the delicious juices.
Can't wait to return soon

Read lots of great things about this place prior to coming to New Orleans, and really wanted to come eat here. Was excited that it was only a couple blocks from my hotel, and decided to just try my luck without a reservation. Ended up sitting at the bar with a couple of friends, which turned out to be an amazing experience. The service was exceptional, and the food was fantastic. I had the Fried Alligator, the Wood Fired Oysters, and the Peach Crisp; and would highly recommend all of it. I also really enjoyed the Golden Stout that I got to drink. If you're in New Orleans, this restaurant should definitely be on your list of must eat at places.

We came here at the recommendation of a friend and had an absolutely amazing lunch. There were so many things on the menu we wanted to try that we ended up getting a variety and sharing so that everyone could have some of what they wanted. The staff were friendly and attentive, and were able to accomodate members of our group with dietary restricions. They seemed to be fairly busy, so I would definitely recommend making a reservation.

Our Uber driver told us about this restaurant. They had great reviews so we checked them out and made a reservation. The place is quite large, but doesn’t appear that way upfront. When you walk in you smell the wood fire and it is unique and makes you hungry Lol. Make reservations if you can as it was packed on a Tuesday night. Very nice hostess and Brad was a great server. Nice restrooms and clean establishment. Drinks solid.

Wow-just wow. I believe all of my food was exceptional. I was trying to find negatives, but couldn’t find anything anywhere to complain about every bite we took we looked at each other because we knew it was perfect. The menu seem small at first but when you reread it, there was plenty of items. We loved the daily specials also. Nothing was overseas, but nothing was under seasoned. Everything was hot that was supposed to be hot and cold that supposed to be cold. The food came out timely with no mistakes. Our server went above and beyond when we wanted to try something we saw on someone else’s table. He also did a great job detailing the menu items as if he was the chef. Another waiter continue to check on us, refilled our drinks, and confirmed our great food choices. This speaks a lot about this establishment.

Gator bites- Best I ever had crispy and delicious almost like popcorn, chicken with fresh herbs and a delightful sauce. It’s a winner at a great price.

Beef Pie- Best I ever had. At $12 I was hoping it would be this good and it exceeded my expectations. It was filled so much that it filled me up and it was just an appetizer. I couldn’t finish it had to take some home. Look at the filling inside. Oh my goodness. Truly, the best I ever eaten. Most beef pies are very thin with a paste filling. This one is unbelievable.

Collard greens side- my mother makes the best collard greens. These greens are on the same level as my mother. I almost asked to meet the chef these greens are so good. I almost drunk the collard green juice/pot liquor, but I didn’t want to embarrass myself with a couple sitting next to us. The collard greens are cut larger than I prefer as my mother usually cuts them small which is harder to do and takes longer. For these greens to be cut large they were equally as soft as small cut greens. When they are larger, Sometimes you have to work your mouth to get all the greens in after loading ‘em on my fork, but this is no complaint at all. Those $8 greens are heavenly and worth every penny.

Beef short ribs with potatoes-Great price and again, utterly delicious and savory. I couldn’t wait to tell you about this place.

Pineapple upside down cake with coconut sorbet. I almost didn’t get the sorbet because I was trying to avoid dairy but this survey is dairy free and I’m glad it is because I can’t believe coconuts or bake taste so good. I’ve never had such delicious sorbet. The pineapple upside down cake looks small but it was mighty. Delicious and perfect. I enjoyed myself so much at this place, we went home to talk about the food and our experience. Keep up the good work. Highly recommend anyone to visit this place anytime they are open. This is not a fried chicken/fried fish place like the rest of the Bourbon Street restaurants. This is cleaner food with a great date night feel that’s not on the main strip.

First meal in New Orleans and we could not have asked for a better experience. From the moment we walked in, we were totally impressed with the ambiance and size of Cochon. There's two main dining areas with additional space upstairs and outside on the patio. With such a large space, Cochon remains well staffed and multiple servers were always checking on us to make sure we were well attended.
The food was absolutely top notch, with a perfect balance for every dish. We started with the fried gator bites - perfectly fried and seasoned with a bright citric sauce to compliment it. This and the complimentary bread (so fluffy) really got my appetite going. For mains, we had the redfish and the pork neck (with trumpet mushrooms). The pork neck was extremely tender and cooked flawlessly, with a lovely sauce on top to provide acidity.
All in all the meal was amazing and unforgettable, with great service to compliment it. I'd absolutely recommend a visit for a date, occasion, or night out.

OMG! Flawless process from seating to dining. I was eating solo, but this is a very busy spot. So I would advise getting a reservation or hope you get a seat once you show up.
I only eat chicken or fish and I didn't see a chicken option so I had the catfish with puff rice. The meal was switch in a tomato sauce which they served with a spoon. Yummy! The catfish was slightly crispy and it was a treat to scoop up that sauce.
Highly recommend!

This is my favorite restaurant in New Orleans. I went back for the first time in over 10 years and was reminded why that’s still true. Service was quick, friendly, and impeccable. The food was all delicious, from the amusement bouche of shrimp remoulade to the pork belly to my main course of catfish courtbouillon and wrapping up with an amazing apple pie. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough and can’t wait to go back sooner than later!
