Archdiocese of New Orleans

The office of Divine Worship has good resources for liturgical ministries.

They are the caretakers of many historic buildings who had to deal with Katrina. Many buildings had damage and some had to be closed. Through it all the Archbishop delicately but firmly dealt with the catastrophe. I breathed a sigh of relief over the outcome. Schools, churches, senior housing, rectories all got damaged. Many of these historic buildings are back in use and have survived. Some are National Landmark and National Register status.The Archdiocese is also caretaker of some historic cemeteries. They are part of the tourism industry which supports the New Orleans economy.

The Archdiocese of New Orleans does a great job overall! They are involved with so much more than meets the eye; churches and rectories are just the beginning. They are involved in schools, seminaries, justice and peace work, healthcare. non-profits, and dozens of programs that help people. No, the Archdiocese does not do everything perfectly; yes, there is room for improvement. However, they do an enormous amount of good for the people of the Greater New Orleans Area.

Thanks to our dedicated and hardworking clergy, consecrated religious and laity who provide us with beautiful celebrations of Masses and other services. Special thanks to Archbishop Gregory Aymond for his leadership, wisdom and guidance.
