Excellent place. They've helped me get a DW practice kit as well as the design series shells here. The guys really know their stuff and are more than willing to set things up for you to test. Both the practice kit and shells I bought here were priced very competitively to boot.

Great drum shop. The staff are awesome and kind and really know what they're talking about.
I will say, if there's anything that's been a little bit of a bummer for me lately, it's that they don't have nearly the selection of sticks and mallets that they used to, but I'm wondering if it's a COVID thing they're still trying to recover from. That being said, they still probably have a better selection than most general music stores, at least when it comes to drum sticks.
As far as drums and cymbals, it seems like they've still got a pretty incredible selection, that's just not as often what I'm looking for since I can't really afford that level of an upgrade yet, lol.

Love this place. Been coming here for a couple years and everyone has been fantastic to work with! We had an old kit and then the day finally came for a new one for our son. Meter was soooo helpful in trying to figure all of that out. Awesome people and great gear!!!

Man, these guys are so great. They totally know what they are talking about. And the best part??? They didn’t laugh me out of the store when I asked them to repair and update my cheap Tama Royalstar snare.
(The only reason I keep it, is because I bought it new in the late 70’s).

Wonderful experience - truly exceptional customer service. No pressure to buy, and Mont was great at highlighting the differences in the various products I was looking for, so I could make the best decision. Then, after I left my suit coat behind in the store (oops!), Mont offered to bring it to me (he was heading my direction). As I said, exceptional customer service. And Shawn has been incredibly helpful so many times since he first sold me a DW kit back in 1998. Great job, guys!

Absolutely top notch customer service! The staff is very knowledgeable, humble, and helpful. You can tell that these employees truly love drumming and enjoy being there. The showroom is attractive too and they have a good, wide inventory. Salt City Drums will definitely be getting all of my future business!

Awesome, most best drum store ever. The staff are the most chill, nice, and overall the best staff in the world. It is probably the best place to get lessons. They have the best prices around, even with no competition. Plus, they give out free stickers. Totally awesome.

Amazing drum shop. My wife and I visited when we were in town for a Journey/Def Leppard concert. We live in Colorado. Salt City Drums tops any shop in all of Colorado. Inventory is great, atmosphere is awesome, but the reason I was inspired to post here was because the staff was unbeatable. They spent time talking with us about what brought us in there. Perfectly helpful but didn't try to sell us anything. I found exactly what I needed...and then they donated a whole box if kids percussion stuff for my wife's preschool. Blew me away. I'll never buy from a guitar center again. The prices are lower at Salt City and they offered to ship anything I ever need for free. 👍👍

Man did Meter Hook it Up! Recently got an Electric Drum kit and have been away from real playing for 7 years. I called ahead told them what I was looking for. When I arrived he had a couple drum thrones and bass pedals ready to go for me to try. Awesome customer service and knowledge. He was able to get me a good price on the gear I needed. Definitely love the feel of the DW5000 Bass pedal and drum throne. All around a great experience.

There aren't a lot of specialty drums shops left, but thankfully we have one here in Salt Lake! This gem of a shop is packed full of an amazing selection of drums, cymbals, hardware, percussion, and accessories. Sean and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. There isn't a better drum shop in town. Sean, Meter, and Chris know what they are doing. They sell the best stuff money can buy, and I don't buy from anyone else. Prices, quality, knowledge, and service are unmatched. These guys are on-point, and anyone that buys drums from any other store in town is likely paying too much and/or not getting what they actually would benefit from the most. Keep it up guys!

I have to say, these guys are amazing. I stopped in with my son, who has Down syndrome, to pick up a couple things for my husband. They were AMAZING with with my son!!! I wish I had gotten a picture. They knew who I was (my husband is a professional musician who frequents their store). But as soon as we walked in the employees were 100% drawn to my son. They handed him various musical shakers, and encouraged him to bang on all the drums and cymbals, and use the kick pedals. They interacted directly with him at every step. They used first person language and never once looked to me like, “hey, can he do x, y, z?”. I mean.. they were seriously amazing. If you have ever thought of doing any kind of at home music therapy with your child, or music lessons or ANYTHING, I HIGHLY recommend them (and the banana shaped shakers).
