Enka-Candler Public Library

We are so grateful story time has returned!! It was a highlight of our summer and now we look forward to seeing old friends and making new with the cheerful and friendly librarian. We are always greeted with a smile from all of the staff. The variety of children's books always makes a trip to the library more than special!

I love ❤ this Library it's about 5 miles from my home and if there's a book they don't have on hand they will get it from another Library and have it for you in a couple of days for you to pick up. Very convenient! It's just been remodeled with more space and lots more 📖 books for you to choose from, they have computers plus tables and chairs to sit and read, etc. Come and visit everyone I know you'll enjoy yourself very much . I have been enjoying this particular library especially since becoming a mother. The children's librarian is incredibly knowledgeable, positive and caring, remembering my child's interests each time we come. We have attended her story times this summer and the environment she helps create is extremely warm and inclusive of all the children there, even bringing in other community opportunities to build connections (cat yoga from the YMCA was especially fun!). I work with children with disabilities and she is particularly focused on increasing their access to the library, both in materials and children's programming available. I have observed her increasing her own learning and understanding of how to adapt, her personal language and the library branch as a whole, so all children can access the material available. I see her values of community building and increasing equity each time I come to the library in Enka-Candler. The Buncombe County library system is very lucky to have her and the entire Enka-Candler branch!

I love the Enka-Candler Library. I've been coming to this library location for years. It's such a chill place. When you walk in the door there's a huge children's area. To the left are computers available to use at no cost. The book selection is vast. The people who work here are really helpful and super nice. Some of them have been here for a number of years.
They have programs to participate in but, I'm afraid that I'm not familiar with them. In the past few years, I've been borrowing books from the library using an app called Libby. You just enter your library card and you can read library books using your smart device. It's really great!
Of course they're handicap compliant and Covid conscious.
If you like reading, drop by the Enka-Candler Library. They even have some picnic tables out front so you can hang out and read!
