If you are in Asheville and want true country cooking and just amazing food, this is it!! My wife got breakfast and it was perfect and I had the best burger I've ever had!! It is really small so not many seats, so if you have to wait it would be worth it!!

My daughter and I went to the Hungry Bear for the first time this morning. The food was generous and fabulous! Prices are very reasonable ; And our waitress was fast and attentive. We decided this is our new favorite breakfast place. We'll be back soon.

The Hungry Bear Cafe is a friendly, down home stop for breakfast with the locals. I'm so glad we passed by all the chain restaurants to try this spot out. Some of the tables/seating are a little awkward, but it all works out fine. Service was friendly and efficient. Our food arrived quickly and was prepared freshly. My omelette wasn't dry, which I appreciated. The fluffy biscuits are fantastic with some butter or even apple butter.

Very down-home southern breakfast meals. The bacon gravy was especially tasty.

Hungry Bear Cafe was incredible. The service was on point and a step ahead of anything I could think of asking for, the food was delicious and the regulars that were there were great with a lot of old school diner banter going on. I'll be heading here often.

We are from out of state, It was a Great place, the breakfast biscuits sandwiches were so good. It's a little local joint, no fancy, no hipster, just damn good & reasonable food. As to which, we came back a second time for those Breakfast sandwiches! Place needs a good power wash and paint outside, but didn't care. The food made the place!

For $7 I got a large plate of eggs and sausage gravy with a biscuit and side of grits with a fountain drink. Felt like I was eating a home cooked meal. Will definitely return! Service was great and friendly.

Y’all!!!! These biscuits…. Are magical! Better then your grandmas biscuits. They are so light and fluffy…. I mean MAGICAL! I broke my diet TWO DAYS in a row for these things and totally worth it. If you are in the mood for amazing biscuits- this is your place. The husband said biscuits and gravy were magical. So good

This place is right off the highway. They have great coffee and biscuits. The service was excellent. 2 servers for 10 tables and they handled it with grace. Don’t let the outside appearance turn you off, the inside is clean and the food is warm.

Man this was the best Breakfast I have eaten in a long time. I loved the homestyle taters and the bologna egg and cheese on toast. My wife said the white gravy was to die for. And the scramble eggs were so good. I will so be back to this place and try lunch. But for sure will eat breakfast here again. So stop by and try for yourself how good this place is.
