Hominy Creek River Park

This is a really nice small park at the end of a dead end street. It's my favorite section of the greenbelt, going from here to Carrier Park. There's also a little free library, some benches (and maybe picnic tables, I forget.) Then halfway up the hills is an outdoor gym, and farther up is a larger field that's fairly private from the rest of the park below. There is also homeless activity, of course, but when I went up there it looked pretty clear.

And if you look across the water from here, you can see the roofline of the Biltmore! (I think.)

Nice paved, out and back trail for running. Went in the morning and it was nearly empty. Heads up: large sections of the trail run right along the side of a busy road (at least at 8am).
Overall, enjoyed the views of the river and the small rolling hills towards the end of the trail.

Absolutely love this spot! Also the river bartender was absolutely lovely, I will be back!

Typically ride here on bikes using the French Broad greenway. Nice spot to hang out and grab a drink. There's a few picnic tables and river/creek access.

Very cool outdoor venue. Just discovered it even though it's been down the street from me for over a year. Great space on the river, music, and cool people. Very dog friendly and they have disc golf baskets up as well as cornhole. Will definitely be back!

My favorite riverside pub to hang with a crowd, or by myself. Excellent for dogs. safe and Swimmable. Can be crowded durimg busy hours but generally a low key gem near carrier park. Great spot to grba a beer before or after a bike ride

Had a great time with our kids, someone returned her lost pocket book. Will definitely come back! Great food,Cold beer,and great vibes all day!!

Hominy Creek River Park is a nice park with picnic tables. the water access is a stairs (good for tubes but a bit hard for kayaks when busy). the park also has access to the French Broad River Green way. the -1 star is for no restrooms

Chill spot on the water, beers, live music - heaven

Good little park with a Greenway that connects it to two other parks- Carrier Park and French Broad River Park. - I wouldn't travel just to visit this park but if you're in the area and looking for a place to run, try out your kiddo's training wheels or walk your dog I'd recommend it. I had a 20 mile run planned the day I visited Asheville so I parked my car at hominy and ran the trail several times starting at 8am. With the sun up and plenty of people around I felt safe.

A great lace to drop your boats in for a nice long ride.

You can rent paddle board, tubes or canoes at French Broad Outfitters and then chill the day away here! Very Dog friendly with a laid back mountain vibe!
Take a break from the bougie downtown snipiness and CHILL BABY CHILL!!

There weren't too many people, but the ones we did come accross were very kind, dog loved it, and it was a perfect walk for the whole family!

We had a great time. Kayaking down the French Broad River on a beautiful day. Very relaxing and scenic. I recommend it!
