Wendi at Butterbugs Baked Goods made our wedding cake dreams come true! She truly outdid herself! What a joy to work with her! The cake was absolutely incredible- from looks, to design, to taste! The taste was delicious (wedding cake flavor), the cake was moist, and the icing and raspberry filling were AMAZING! I would 1000/10 recommend her! You will not be disappointed! Just do it! Oh, and let’s not forget her incredible cookies we had for favors! They were a huge hit! We did chocolate chip and oatmeal ! I had a family member ask where the oatmeal cookies were from because “it was one of the BEST oatmeal cookies he’d ever had.”! Thank you so much Wendi!

Wendi hit all the marks for me! Cake was amazing, and the customer service was even better. I reached out to her very last minute, and communication with her was such a breeze. My family was traveling to the area to celebrate my mom turning 70 and I wanted her to have her favorite cake on her birthday. Wendi knocked it out of the park with this delicious German Chocolate cake! I would recommend her to anyone and if I’m ever in the Asheville area again, I’ll order one “just because”! Absolutely unreal! Got the yellow cake w chocolate frosting for a birthday party and I can’t even begin to tell you how much of a hit it was!! Everyone said it was the best cake they’ve ever had, I agree!! The most scrumptious genache-y rich chocolate and perfectly moist cake.

The owners let me pick it up on NYE, a day they’re normally not open, and I just really appreciate them going above and beyond.

The tastiest apple pie ever!! We custom ordered a GF, vegan apple pie for thanksgiving and we were thrilled with the outcome. That crust!!! Omg!!! We will definitely be ordering again and again!! Wendi was awesome!

Wendi was so sweet and enthusiastic from my first contact with her, which really went a long way to making the process a joy. She created a gorgeous and delicious gluten free lemon cake with raspberry filling. The decoration was beautiful and celebratory for my mom's 80th birthday. I picked up on a Friday and the party was Saturday. As we were about to serve the cake, a guest with a nut allergy wondered if any nut flours had been used. I texted Wendi and she responded immediately. Our guest was able to enjoy the cake with everyone else. All in all, a great experience that added a lot to a very special occasion.

We absolutely loved our wedding cake from Butterbugs! It not only tasted amazing, but was beautifully crafted too. If you are in the market for Coconut Cake Extraordinaire, Butterbug's Bakery is your North Star. My husband is a fiend for Coconut Cake stemming from a childhood memory of his Mom's cake! Seeking this experience again, he has made several different recipes himself as he bakes. Further, he has ordered a slice of this cake and has been disappointed in the product nearly every single place we go. Having relished this cake supremely at Nine Mile- I knew his passion for Wendi's cake. I am a baker too having owned and operated a Montford Bed and Breakfast for 20 years. Recognition of a supreme product is my strong suit. Look no further. Wendi's Coconut Cake is not only aesthetically exceptional; it is a culinary masterpiece. As an added bonus, Wendi is a delight and vested in your happiness with her product. Trust me, you will be happy.

Wendi goes over the top on every order I’ve ever placed with her. She does all of our birthday and special occasion cakes. As you can see from my photos, we always get super fancy cakes 🎂

She makes all of ours gluten free, even though she’s not a gluten-free facility, she takes the time to steam clean the counter so there is less of a risk of cross-contamination. I am a super sensitive to gluten and have never reacted to anything that comes from her kitchen.

She made my snake cake like a wedding cake with a super delicious raspberry filling. (I had just been bitten by a baby copperhead and was very lucky to have another birthday) So it kinda looked like a bleeding snake when I hacked into it 😂😂 (inspired by a scene from Steel Magnolias)

My son’s snowboarding cake was a huge hit at the slopes …. And omg my dog cake (he had just survived a major surgery for a cancerous tumor removal) was ADORABLE!! (Can y’all tell we celebrate with food? Lol)

Wendi was great! She made us a specialty cake which tasted and looked phenomenal. Communication was excellent and the cake was ready exactly when she said it would be. Extremely happy with her services!

We ordered cupcakes from Butterbugs for our wedding dessert and they were a hit! The rose icing was an elevated touch and flavor was amazing. We especially loved the vanilla sour cream cupcake with chocolate frosting :) Definitely recommend!!

Just, wow! We ordered a small gluten free dairy free cake for our wedding and it was as the best cake I’ve ever had! Even non-allergy people were impressed. Wendi was also the sweetest and was so easy to work with. We can’t wait to order more from Butterbug!

Wendi does a fantastic job. I ordered cupcakes for a Harry Potter themed birthday party. She did just a fantastic job to make them really special and finding sprinkles of the theme. I would highly recommend butterbug’s.

Wendi did a great job with my order! She was very responsive to emails and very easy to work with. Entire process from ordering to pickup was made easy. The cake was delicious and beautiful! Some of the best cakes I've had in my life! My wife orders Butterbug's coconut cream layer cake as a yearly birthday ritual. It is absolutely fantastic.

I ordered a 6” chocolate heart cake with light purple vanilla frosting and Wendi did not disappoint! Not only was she extremely sweet and great with communication, but she made me a lovely birthday cake that was everything I wanted. I highly recommend the edible glitter topping. (When I blew out my candles little sparkles flew around in the air!) This cake was truly magical and delicious! Thanks to Butterbugs and Wendi!

We've worked with Wendi for a few weddings and her cakes are always beautiful and delicious! We throw a hard cake at her- vegan and sugar free and she nailed it! We definitely recommend!

My husband and I were visiting Asheville for his 50th birthday and I wanted to ensure he had a cake to help celebrate the occasion as I have always made him one. Finding Butterbugs was like hitting the bakery jackpot! Most bakeries just dress up a cake mix and add extra butter and eggs and call it home-made. Not Butterbugs, she uses REAL INGREDIENTS made from scratch and you can taste the difference. The texture of the buttercream icing was incredibly smooth and tasted like a combination of whipped butter, frozen yogurt, and heaven. Even the presentation of each slice was beautiful, with four layers of cake and icing perfectly proportioned. Seriously, if you want a dessert that is made with real ingredients and lots of love, Butterbugs is the right choice!

One of the best cakes we have ever eaten! Thank you! This was my husband's birthday cake. Devil's food cake with a dark chocolate ganache frosting with chocolate buttercream in between the layers. Divine! ❤

Butterbug goes above and beyond to deliver exceptional cakes. For Valentines day, I ordered a custom heart cake with vanilla sour cream cake and blueberry buttercream. It was DIVINE! Highly recommend this bakery!
