Kate is truly the best. As a professional climber, I feel comfortable pushing myself in my sport knowing that Kate is there to fix whatever harm I do. She has treated both knees, both shoulders, multiple back problems and a dozen or more miscellaneous issues that have come up over the last 5+ years. Other physical therapists have at times told me that my injuries were unsolvable without surgery and many months away from my sport, only for Kate to fix them in a matter of weeks all while keeping me climbing regularly. If google would let me give her more than 5 stars, I would. She’s really that good.

I first met Kate when I was in pain with a herniated disk. She diagnosed and tested my strength and was able to discern what my problems were and successfully correct them. Her physical manipulations and exercise recommendations were nothing short of remarkable. In fact, I did remark over and over again! She has helped me regain my strength, increased my flexibility, and given me a plan moving forward so I can do the things I want to do without fear of pain. I am forever grateful! (and a little sad to have graduated from her care)

I have been receiving treatments from Kate for more than 10 years. In fact, I followed her from Charlotte to Asheville. Her diagnostic skills and treatment interventions are second to none. She is knowledgeable, impeccably trained and exquisitely intuitive about all things physical. I was initially referred to her for physical therapy for a herniated disc. I have fully recovered from effects of that… And continue to consult with her for regular treatment of things that need attention. I am extremely active and hard on my body, and Kate keeps me “in line “. You will not be disappointed!

Kate is amazing! She helped me with my chronic back pain and the exercises always help with any flare ups. Recently she helped me with my shoulder and neck, I felt so much better after just one visit. I am a PT, and this is the PT I recommend to my friends and family.

I found out about Kate through a recommendation for my stepson from a friend… at this point Kate has treated my stepson, my husband and myself. I went to see her not because I had any sort of debilitating injury, rather I had episodic back and hip pain flareups.
I have never gone to another physical therapist before, but I suspect Kate to be different from others. At no point did she suggest that I quit mountain biking or doing yoga. She gave me stretches and exercises to build up certain muscles that have helped me be pain-free. She is also helped my husband and stepson.
She also doesn’t work with patients in definitely. She wants to get you up and running so you don’t have to keep coming see her.
Also every visit she works out the knots in my back and it’s like an awesome massage except it actually helps everything.
Kate is warm, knowledgeable, hardworking and an asset to the Asheville sports community (not that you have to be in a sports to go see Kate… It’s just you might end up going to a physical therapist because you do sports).

In a world of empty promises Kate delivers. I and my wife have used her to get lasting relief after chiropractors etc failed. She has fixed our teenagers after various injuries climbing (and falling). I have sent several friends and clients and everyone raves about her professionalism and their results. Her training in Australia resulted in creating lasting relief in fewer appointments. We are raving fans and are certain you will be too!

If you have aches and pains, GO SEE KATE! And if you have symptoms that other medical professionals can’t figure out and you are frustrated because you are not getting the help you need - GO SEE KATE! Having a great physiotherapist/physical therapist contact is like having a great car mechanic for your vehicle - when you need them, you need them. In the Western North Carolina area (and beyond) there is none better than Kate. Kate is trained at the highest level of physio/physical therapy (PT) and will utilize her expert skills to help you to recover as quickly as possible (saving you $) - that is her goal - to help you achieve your goal(s). I know this because she has been a physiotherapy mentor to me for years. Kate literally ‘practices what she preaches’. Not only does she effectively teach high level courses for MAPS (Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars), but she has designed some of the materials! Kate is an expert clinician AND instructor/mentor. As a PT, myself she is my choice when I need a PT. GO SEE KATE - your body and mind will thank you.

Kate is an excellent PT!! She has helped me out twice now over the past few years for neck pain. We even just had a telehealth appointment over zoom. She really did a great job of listening to the description of my symptoms and then was able to show me different exercises to help my neck pain. All done over the computer. It worked great!! Thanks again Kate!!!

Kate is a muscle master! Her knowledge of the body, her humor, and intuition are all good medicine for healing. She has been my "go to" when my body needs attention, whether knee, back or neck. I trust her and recommend her without reservation.

Kate is knowledgeable and truly excellent at what she does. After trying many professionals for chronic issues with only moderate improvement, she has restored my ability to resume my life without letting my health keep me from what I need and want to do!

Kate Hoppensteadt is a very talented soft tissue physical with my damaged knee and foot. She does a full body assessment and understands the connection of posture, walking and muscle strength in affected body parts. She gave me a personalized treatment which included exercises to improve my functionality. She is a miracle worker.

Kate has helped me over the years and is very knowledgeable. She can dial-in whatever might be going on very quickly and minimizes the amount of visits. I believe she’s helped me avoid several surgeries.
