My family found a puppy that had its legs tied together with zip ties and starving on the side of the road Thanksgiving night. We took Lookout to Mission in the middle of the night and they were able to help us in every way. They kept Lookout through the night and got the circulation back in his legs and helped clean up his wounds. When Dr. Gio let him walk out to us the next morning our hearts melted. Thank you so much Mission vet for helping us save this sweet puppy. ❤ Original photos are graphic.

I will to be short but bottomline, they did an amazing job with saving my new family member. I had 3 huskies that recently passed away within the last year which brought me lots of heartache. My bf and my daughter wanted to surprise me with a husky someone was giving away. This person was slick because they didn’t know they were going to bring me sick dog that probably wouldn’t have made it in the next couple of days. She couldn’t walk or hold herself up, wasn’t eating, she was lethargic, skinny, dirty, smelled real bad. This person had her wrapped up in blanket so they wouldn’t be able to see how bad she was. She was sleeping or so they thought so they were just letting her rest. Well after seeing her I took her straight to the ER and I am glad I did. They took good care of her. She needed fluids so an IV was set in, she needed to eat but wouldn’t so they gave her a feeding tube. They did lab work and everything came back normal except her white blood cells. After 3 days in the er she became a new husky. Her final lab work did eventually come back Nyla having Parvo but with help from the staff she made it. She was eating and walking and alert. I am so happy they saved her. Some may have seen this pet ER a bit pricy, but one, if you love your babies like your child you will do your best to get the medical help they need, two, they do work with you with estimated cost as they go. Overall my Nyla and I are happy. I think GOD meant for us to find each other. She’s doing so much better now and so full of energy. Thank you everyone for taking such good care of LALA who is now Nyla Iris.

Our primary vet referred us to MissionVet to help my cat Edward over a mystery illness. Everyone from office staff to ER coordinator, vet techs and doctor were polite, kind and thoroughly professional. They took the time to ask and listen to my description of his illness and were respectful and understanding when I expressed budget constraints. Surroundings are bright and clean and cheerful; triage services stem is efficient. Edward is doing so much better, and I am so grateful to MissionVet for taking such good care of him!

We have been involved with this vet clinic since October 2022 when our little frenchie girl was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, leaky valve disease and a small tumor growing on top of her heart. While this veterinary clinic is pretty expensive it was well worth it. The staff was fantastic to us and our girl. Always giving us updates and educating us on all the information we needed not leaving us with any questions. Our baby recovered under the ER care in 2022 where she was given most likely 2 weeks to a few months to live because of her condition. Our baby was still very active, playing with all her toys and just still so full of life, she just wasn’t ready to go yet. We got transferred to Dr Jones where he was able to stabilize her condition with medication and keep her with us happy and active for another 14 months! Our baby has been through some stuff as a frenchie in her 12 years causing her to be very nervous any time we would take her to the vet but she seemed very comfortable here and would even go up and give Dr Jones kisses when he would come in to the room. Two days ago our baby went in with fever and was very weak. We were hoping she would recover and we could bring her home for a while longer but Dr Jones said she just didn’t seem herself. I didn’t understand and thought maybe she just wanted to come home so they asked us to come see her and decide. When we got there she was weak and not herself yet she was calm and happy to see us. I couldn’t believe this Dr had paid so much attention to our baby over the last 14 months and was able to recognize her little personality and he really cared for her. Dr Jones offered us several options to do more testing and see if we could find the under lying cause to see if he could offer more treatment but was never pushy. Us and our baby decided that we didn’t want to pursue any further treatment as we were at peace with how calm she was at this moment and that she was letting us know she was tired and ready to go. Dr Jones and his staff walked us through the process as this was our first time and made it as easy on us and our girl as they possibly could at a time that was extremely heart breaking and hard on us. While we are deeply heart broken she is no longer here we are appreciative of this speciality clinic and the extra time we got with our baby and the professionalism the entire staff provided us. Thank you Mission Vet. Thank you Dr Jones.

The front staff are so sweet and kind and the back of staff are even better they treat your pets like they are family and they make sure that you understand everything, talking through what procedures are needed if necessary step by step. I love them! I will always take my pets here in case of emergency. Hopefully I won’t need to but it’s amazing to know they will be in great hands.

In the 7 years we've lived in San Antonio, we've been to Mission once for a Specialist referral and twice on emergency basis. Last night was our most recent trip as my senior dog had a cyst that ruptured under the skin suddenly and I was concerned it was a hernia. We did have to wait a few hours to be seen, but I understand that fortunately, my dog was stable, and we were not considered "urgent" like others may have been. Of course, there is an emergency fee, but their other prices for services are fairly in line with non-emergency clinics. Tech (i didn't catch their name), and Dr. Ledoux we saw were both great. This is the only EC locally I trust with my dogs.

I’m Heffner’s mom. We traveled 4 hours to see Dr. Chris Jones. When I tell you I was nervous and worried, no words could describe my feelings. Heffner is my world. From setting up the appointment with Itzel, to getting Patient intake with Mary to the visit with Dr Chris… everyone was phenomenal. Aside from helping us they were understanding and caring and that’s all I could ask for. Please be patient and kind to the front desk. They are trying their hardest to help us nervous pet parents out. Please keep Heffner in your prayers we’re gonna get through this 🫶🏼 Keep up the great work Mission Vet

We were referred to MissionVet by our local vet clinic because our dog had a dangerously low platelet count. The following day of being admitted, he was confirmed to have immune-mediated thrombocytopenia, a potentially life threatening disease if not treated to properly.
However, a few days later we were able to take our baby home thanks to the wonderful team at MissionVet, especially Dr. Ramsey. He explained everything clearly and helped our dog at a second chance at life.
Thank you again MissionVet!

Update: a week after being discharged, gizmo was experiencing rare side effects from one of his several medications. He needed to be readmitted once again for his liver. The internal medicine team was unavailable but the critical care team, including Dr. Johnson and Dr. Himdmarsh were there to help. They found an alternative that works with the other medication and we were able to take our baby home after one night.

Wonderful team!

Overall great experience. Our DVM was professional and also personable. Dr. Rohra walked me through her thought process on differential diagnosis. Very thorough, willing to explain everything (in laymen's terms) and helped make sure I was well informed. The technician, who greeted me, was my first experience with Mission. The technician was also professional and personable. She was extremely caring and tried her best to keep me calm. Unfortunately I did not remember her name, however, she totally laid the ground work for "first impressions".

While the circumstances of a visit to an emergency vet aren’t the best, the folks at Mission Vet ARE the best! I arrived early AM with my sick pug and was seen quickly. She was diagnosed quickly and admitted to their critical care. I received a face-to-face with the doctor with the plan of care and estimation of costs. Throughout that day and the next I received telephonic updates from the doctor. The technicians and doctors at Mission Vet answered all my questions and took great care of my Fiona. Thank you!

Mission took in my pet, Lily in a emergency situation. They had a neurosurgeon ready for her the next morning. I was in Mexico when this happened. The surgeon spoke to me before and after. The staff worked with me in signing the paperwork and making payment electronically. The best thing is that Lily is walking again!

We needed urgent care for our dog, and Mission Vet was very prompt. Within 15 minutes of completing the online form, we were instructed to drive over to the clinic. Our dog was seen less than 5 minutes after check in. The staff was very kind and the place seemed incredibly well-run. The vets and the techs were very knowledgeable and made sure we understood our dogs problems and the best treatment plan. Hopefully we will not need to visit an urgent care vet again, but if we do, we would 100% trust Mission Vet to do best by our dog.

I came in to MissionVet due to my dog ingesting an unknown amount/strength of chocolate. I enjoyed having an online check in process. When we arrived, we waiting maybe 10 minutes to be taken to the back for evaluation. I enjoyed the competence of the staff as well as their attentiveness. All procedures were thoroughly explained. The care was great. I sincerely appreciated the call from the DVM then next day to check in. Overall, great experience and would recommend.

Enough can not be said about the doctors and staff. Our sweet dog was diagnosed with cancer and they took excellent care of her and her humans. She is now in remission. Every single time she needed to see a doctor or we had questions they were quick to provide whatever help they could. After being in the facility for hours over the last few months i can honestly say they have your fur baby’s best interest at heart. They love pets and people.

Saturday morning, our cat is acting very strange. We immediately suspect neurological issues because of his symptoms. We get recommended Missionvet and make a call. The receptionist, Mhyrical, was so empathetic and got us triaged over the phone. A vet tech called us back within a minute and had us head in. We were seen almost immediately and the staff did a wonderfully thorough job of figuring out what was going on. Turns out our little boy got into something he should not have, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure he was out of the woods before they would sign off on him leaving. All things considered, the cost was extremely reasonable, and the vet (Dr. Ramirez) went out of her way to ensure us no tests or work would be done unless it was absolutely needed. She stuck to her word! I can't say enough good things about this place. Emergency vet rooms can be one of the most depressing places on Earth, but Missionvet makes it as nice as it possibly can be. Thank you for everything again!!

I've attached two pictures of our boy, right after he got home. He was tired, but feeling so much better!

We had an emergency situation with our Great Pyrenees on Saturday night (12/23). They got him in quickly and were able to stabilize him. Unfortunately due to his situation it was determined that the best coarse of action was to euthanize him. The Dr was very patient and understanding, and walked us through the procedure. The entire staff was sympathetic and very helpful. They helped make the transition as painless for him and us as possible. He was a loved family member and will be missed. It was great seeing how much they cared as well, and made sure that everything was handled professionally. It was unfortunate that it happened, but I'm glad that we took him to MissionVet. Thank you so much.

I’ve brought several (one had a sudden onset of back pain, one had an impacted bladder, one had a intervertebral disc rupture) of my pets here when they’ve had emergencies. While I will say that we’ve always waited, it’s because they triage cases—as they should. The worst cases are given priority.

Most recently, my sweet chihuahua mix suffered a sudden back injury which left him without the use of his back legs. In cases like this, the sooner you can get neurological care, the better it is for the outcome of your fur baby’s recovery. He spent a total of five days in the hospital, two of which were postop. Dr. Daw and the neurological team did an amazing job. They always took time to address my concerns, answer questions about his condition, and give me updates—both when I call in to check and calling me with updates.

My only complaint is that I wish he could’ve had surgery on Monday rather than Tuesday, but his condition wasn’t compromised by the wait and therefore is a moot point. I am so incredibly thankful to Dr. Daw and all the other doctors who took such wonderful care of our sweet Toby. On to recovery, we hope he will walk again!

On Monday night (11/27/2023) we had an incident with our old dog, Hank and had to rush him to Mission Vet Emergency. The staff was incredibly caring and helpful from front staff to the techs and doctors in the back. Upon arrival they took Hank immediately and stabilized him. They met with us and went over our options. Dr. Rohra showed us X-rays and answered our questions. Hank ended up having surgery for a GDV bloat incident. They kept us updated throughout and during his recovery. Dr. Lozano was involved in his surgery and care and gave us updates as well. I am thankful for the top notch medical care but the human kindness they showed to my pet and family. Megan, the client patient coordinator, kindly went over his discharge paperwork with us and made sure we understood it all.

We have been to Mission Vet before with our younger dog Norbert who we unfortunately had to euthanize. This was in January 2021. It was a devastating time but the staff was respectful and kind to us then too.

We have also once been here for our dog Bronson. A local vet thought he had bladder crystals and needed surgery. We took him to Mission Vet for surgery. Before they performed the surgery, the doctors called and said it wasn’t necessary. Dr. Garcia was explained the issue and sent him home with medicine. Thankful he did not have to go through a surgery and the vet there caught it.

Overall I just want to give this place 5 stars for the stellar treatment my pets have received and the kindness staff members have shown. The facility is clean and comforting. Thank you for all you guys do here!

Could not have had a better experience. Doctors are so knowledgeable, all representatives were attentive and fast, everybody was kind, caring, showed very genuine respect/provided exceeds-standards consolation for people experiencing difficult times with their furry loved ones.

I found a 9 month old terrier puppy on the side of the road (on New Year’s Day) convulsing, took him to MissionVet, and without exaggeration, there was a specialist taking him in for care within 15 seconds of me walking in. Thanks to MissionVet, he’ll be living a, healthy life full of love and well-deserved attention and I couldn’t be even slightly more grateful. Thank you!!

I’m so thankful for the critical care team, Karina, Chloe and everyone who had our Teegie in their care. A very special thank you to Dr. Hindmarsh for not giving up on our boy. We brought our boy, Tigjuan, for treatment after our vet had offered euthanasia but the critical care team took our boy into their hands and he is on his road to recovery. They cared for him beautifully, and you could see their love for animals and him with each time they handled him and spoke about him. They trained us very thoroughly so we could provide his insulin at home and made sure to hit every point to educate us about feline diabetes, what needles to use, what not to use and so on. Our boy is alive and well thanks to the efforts of the critical care team who lovingly worked on him constantly until he was ready to come home. Genuinely looking forward to working with them further in regards to their internal medicine department. They are a wonder to work with and true heroes. I couldn’t be more thankful, and we know Teegie is so very grateful💕
