To my family and me, there is no better feeling than feeling that homey feel. The couple times that we have come for dinner, the food has been amazing, same with the service. It is reassuring to know that when you go to a restaurant multiple times (with different staff) that there is consistency in the preparation of the food. As stated before, the food is amazing, and it is just as amazing as the first time we came for dinner. Will definitely be back.

Scrumptious fried mushrooms, fried pickles, and fried zucchini. Really enjoyed the Frank's-drenched fried chicken sandwich, too. But the show stopper was the coconut cream pie. Couldn't get over the fresh vanilla taste and the yummy crust. So amazing.

What a gem! We stopped on our way through and had one of the best lunches I have had in a long time. The home made bread tasted like I was back in my home town, Pittsburgh Pa., in fact so God we bought a loaf. The in house made pie was phenomenal, the crust was perfectly baked and flakey, the coconut cream was smooth, creamy and airy. This restaurant is great and we will make the 1 1/2 hour drive to enjoy it again.

Great lunch selection. Special was roast beef and I selected 2 sides: German fried potatoes and saurkruat. Also included fruit salad and tea and bread. All for $11.94! So delicious and fresh. Huge portions- couldn't finish it all. Always friendly waitresses and clean. Wish it was a little brighter with lighting.

This place has been open since 1948! The food is delicious! I had Pork Chops and Cheese soup! Try this historic country cooking!

Fabulous food! A good place to have a slow down time. This is not your fast food place. This is a come relax place. Good American comfort food. Head here if you wish to have a relaxing time.

Food was very good and fresh. Staff was friendly but not enough team on the ground so many table needed bussing. That is a management issue, not a team issue. Atmosphere is very cool, vintage small town. We will be back.

We were in town for my Son's wedding. We ate breakfast at Sammy's 3 straight mornings. Great menu selection. Food is fantastic! Fast and friendly service!

Great restaurant and awesome service from their staff. I have only been there for breakfast and it has been really good. Their prices are reasonable, and food taste delicious. Strongly recommend this place.

Best food I have had in a while, recently moved to Northwest San Antonio and decided to explore the opposite way from the usual drive to downtown. I was blown away with their classic homestyle food. The bread is served fresh recently baked and the pies are made in house. HUGE PORTIONS!!Will be spending more weekend here just for this place. MUST TRY!

Home cooking. Awesome dishes. Caring staff. Your treated like family when your there. Like they have known you for years. Love it. Will be back again and again. Might have to go again tonight.

We had the best experience here! Leslie was so sweet and attentive as our waitress. The food was so good and the bread was tasty and warm! We will be back!

Very friendly and amazingly delicious! 😋 10/10 you need to try the cheese soup!!! The country fried steak was wonderfully cooked and we had to take home the left over! The fried zucchini was lightly breaded and fried so that it tasted so fresh but still had the taste and crunch of a crispy coating. We will be back!!

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes. Live this way, live that way.

On the road and driving through, this place was perfect. Plenty of room to park a camper. My husband had the special, Santa Fe chicken, which would come quicker if you’re in a hurry. I had quesadillas. Everything, I mean everything is from scratch and taste like you were eating at a friends house. The comfort level for this Sunday dinner was great. We left a 22%tip.

Food was delicious and the environment of the restaurant felt like I was at my grandparents house and the chicken fried chicken was delicious and like a grandma was in the back cooking it up our waitress was very sweet and attentive even at 8:00 at night she was amazing and the restaurant was amazing

If you’re looking for that old staple of a breakfast dive, this is your perfect place. Truck stop style, good breakfast selections, great pastries. Enjoy!
