Castroville Café

Great place in Castroville for a sit-down lunch. Meatloaf with brown gravy, mashed potatoes, and vegetables are delicious. Meatloaf is moist and flavorful with the gravy. Vegetables are sautéed with butter. Mashed potatoes are creamy. The Schnitzel was breaded pork cutlet and tender. Bread was a little too toasted as the hard crust cut the inside of my mouth but it was tasty. Pasta salad was a little bland. Sliders came with thick patties and cooked just right. Very filling. Beautiful old home converted into a restaurant. The wait staff was friendly, attentive, and polite. We will definitely return.

We stumbled across the Cafe while touring Castroville on a quiet Tuesday afternoon. Our lunch menu meals were delicious and the service was attentive and pleasant. Our Spinach, Bacon & Mushroom Quiche was made with care and talent. We’ll be back for sure.

Beautiful restaurant in downtown castroville. Food and service is amazing. I had the egg sandwich and the jelly sauce on this sandwich is DELICIOUS!

One of my favorite go to place for lunch in Castroville. The food is delicious and they give you just enough food so you don’t feel overstuffed. One of my favorites is their chicken salad sandwich and meatloaf. For my drink I love the Peach iced tea. If you’re looking for home cooked meal in the comfort of a home setting this is a good place to come try and visit.

The Cafe is a great hidden gem in Castroville, just a block off Hwy 90, underneath tall pecan trees you will find this place. Their offerings are daily home made meals along with a varty of sandwiches and salads. Try the peach cobbler, one of the best I've had. Safe is very friendly and service is usually fast.

I hadn't been to Castroville Cafe since way before COVID. I understand COVID and our current economy changed many businesses. I was disappointed that some items had been removed from the menu. I may try a different menu item in the future. If I don't like it...there's always delicious chocolate cake and ice cream.

Food was delicious. I ordered a patty melt and the peach cobbler with ice cream. Service was really good. Food was really good, and the atmosphere is really neat, being an outdoor place it’s a bit nostalgic. One of the people I came with they gave a taste of the blackberry cobbler since they ran out before he ordered which was really nice of them to do. I know they can’t always do that but it was definitely an example of them going above and beyond. Definitely would eat here again, although to be honest, I’d probably get the grilled cheese. Patty melt was great but a half pound of beef was a little more than I was craving at the moment.

AMZING fresh homemade quality food. You can’t find places like this very often. Absolutely delicious. My mouth waters still thinking about the homemade rolls I had tried there.

The open face roast beef sandwich I had was delicious! Very friendly staff and very relaxing atmosphere with outdoor patio style sitting! A must stop if you are come or going through Castroville!

Visited 2-13-22, had tortilla soup as an appetizer, the hunter schnitzel and peach cobbler alamode. It was all delicious!! Love this place!!

The meatloaf was delicious. Ample portions and quick service. Indoor dinning maybe a premium in this Texas heat. However the shades were generously provided by the majestic oaks :)

Attractive cafe, staff was attentive with our group of 20 ladies. Food was reasonably priced nicely presented.

Please be patient when visiting cafe as they are a bit short staffed but none the less, service is great and meals delicious

This place is awesome rich in history, quaint and delicious. We had the Italian wedding soup n landmark sandwich. Food was PHENOENAL! The staff was very courteous and I never had an empty glass. Great experience I will be returning.
