Sargasso

Very cute place with wonderful food. They have a limited lunch menu that is delicious. I would recommend maybe a half a sandwich and soup/salad deal. The BLT and tuna melt were amazing!

The chef was great! All our plates were freshly prepared and exceeded expectations 👌🏽 Salmon was cooked well, corn bread full of flavors, and soup was well balanced. Super friendly staff, great ambiance, interior design could be improved.

Visiting from out of state and a friend recommended Sargasso. The first look at the menu and I was ready to leave due to lack of choices. The choices offered looked good so decided to stay. Glad we did. Ordered the special of the night-linguini with pesto sauce. Husband had the chicken. We both said first bite was amazing! Full of flavor. Meals prepared by one chef. Friend says he goes there because of the chef. We now know why. Prices are a little high but wow, what a great place for date night or anything special. What a treat.

Every time I go eat here, I think I've had my best meal, drink, soup, dessert, etc, to just go back in and be wowed all over again. It's literally my favorite place to eat in Morgantown and one of two spots I frequent. I'm done exploring the food scene here. Most restaurants are venues that serve food that want to make a buck with some gimmick. This place is foodie heaven, and I'm so so so so glad I tried it out one random Monday lunch. The staff are also great! They are friendly and knowledgeable and treat you like you're the only guest in the building. Absolutely zero complaints from me.

We live about an hour away and drove to Sargasso to meet friends from Morgantown. The food was great, I had the pork chop and my wife had the crab cakes. We also had some charcutier and cheese boards for appetizers. There was 7 of us and we also enjoyed some very good red wine. Along those lines, they had a very nice wine selection to choose from. Our waiter, Jack, did a fantastic job. He was very attentive and despite having a rambunctious group, he didn't make a single mistake. Definitely recommend.

My wife and I just left from celebrating our one year anniversary. I don’t even know where to begin on how amazing this place is. The food was absolutely outstanding. I got the strip steak and my wife got the shrimp meal. Highly recommend them both. Best steak I’ve ever had. Not only was the food amazing, but the wait staff was incredible. So kind and thoughtful. They even went as far as to get us the appropriate flowers for our one year anniversary for our table.

A little pricey, but it is definitely an upscale Italian restaurant. Service was attentive but not overly. Food was prepared professionally. Food tasted well above my expectations.

From the greeter to the waiter and to the menu it was more than i expected. Thats a great thing! Food was excellent and the atmosphere was very laid back. Above all else the establishment was clean which is a big thumbs up in my boook!

My husband, grandson and myself had the most fabulous meal Friday night. The cobb salad with homemade bluecheese was to die for along with the scallops, and two of their Italian dishes.You will see us very soon even if we have to drive a hour and half. Thank you for the great service.

Had Sunday brunch at Sargasso. I had the traditional American breakfast with eggs, potatoes, bacon and toast. It is a little expensive at $12 but the portion was large and very good. Service was excellent. The atmosphere and no crowd was also nice. Will take pictures next time.

Appetizers were delicious! I had the filet mignon(med rare) and it was perfect! Waitress was extremely attentive! What a wonderful restaurant for a Birthday dinner!!

Excellent food, great presentation. They even customized my order to meet gluten free diet. I had the salmon, my husband had the filet, both were delicious. Save room for dessert... highly recommend the creme broule and the cheesecake.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Sargasso is a must for an upscale restaurant in Morgantown. Be sure to ask for Katy, she's a gem!

I've dined here several times and have always been pleased. The waitstaff is professional, and the food is always tasty - and interesting. Sure it's pretty expensive - not somewhere you'd eat all the time - but worth it when you do. The wine list is extensive, and the desserts are great.

(As a side note: some reviews here have complained about portion-sizing, but quality places usually don't give you heaping portions: that's kind of gross anyway, and sort of an American novelty.)

The service and the food are great. This is a gem of a restaurant. We have gone to Morgantown for many years, and just found out about Sargasso's. The steaks were done to perfection, with an unusual garnish, pickled lemon seeds ( I found this to be an unusual but tasty garnish). The dessert was light but not too sugary. The wait staff is very attentive.

Sargasso is absolutely wonderful. My girlfriend and I went there a few months ago and we loved the brunch, specifically the takoyaki fries were amazing. We decided to come back again for dinner and it was phenomenal. Totally exceeded my expectations.

I am a local and I went to lunch with my girlfriend. I loved the food, taste, atmosphere and decor. Our server was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional (Will T.). Prices are reasonably appropriate. I hope brunch and dinner are just as good. I highly recommend.

For years has been one of the top restaurants in Morgantown! A great dining experience with service that stands out.

The food here was amazing! The atmosphere is great as well for both a business meeting or a date. I will definitely be returning for another experience
