Melissa is a CURL WIZARD and an angel who has given me all of my favorite haircuts of my life!! I never trusted stylists before meeting her, and would cut my hair myself throughout college! Since starting haircuts with Melissa my hair is so healthy and I feel so confident and love my curls! She is also one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Book with her today!!

Melissa is awesome. She knows a lot about curly hair. She explained what she was doing at every step of the way and provided some good tips on styling curly hair and some constructive criticism on my current routine. I highly recommend.

Melissa is a wonderful person and a hair stylist. I have curly and coarse hair and always had hard time styling it. She took time to listen to my concern and gave me best advice and the hair cut. I loved how it turned it. She does not push products and I am glad I found her. Oh and she also did my daughter's first hair cut and it was adorable and manageable. I went to Melissa for a "curly cut" after reading review after review proclaiming how amazing her cuts and styles are. I've never had much luck with my curls so I honestly felt like this might be a situation where it worked well for other people but wouldn't work for me. (I'd say my hair is a mix of loose waves with some spirals.)

However, Melissa worked her magic. Or maybe not magic - that seems to imply slight of hand, deception, or trickery. It's probably more accurate to say that Melissa is a skilled artist who knows her craft well. She is like a master painter transforming a blank canvas into a beautiful artwork. She transformed my frizzy mess into gorgeous spirals.

In addition to this amazing cut, she took the time to educate me on what *my* hair needs. I've pored over dozens of blogs and advice threads for curly hair, but Melissa was able to provide individualized advice specific to my hair. She gave suggestions that took my (severe) allergies into account.

It took quite a few weeks to get an appointment with her--and for good reason. Her knowledge and expertise was worth the wait and I am so happy with my curly cut.

I booked a curly cut with Melissa after reading tons of positive reviews online. Those reviews were right! Melissa understands that those of us with curly hair need more than just a cut - we need educated information instead of just what we can find online. Melissa provided that in spades! Before she even touched my hair, she asked detailed questions about my routine and made some great suggestions on how to get the most out of my products. She then gave me a great cut that gave my hair some movement. I look forward to continuing my work with her to bring my curls back to life, and I will recommend her to every curly I know.

I got my hair cut a couple weeks ago and I absolutely love it! I have curly hair (2c/3a ish) and had been DREADING getting my hair cut because there are not a lot of people around here that know how to deal with it properly. Melissa does not have curly hair, but let me tell you she cares about your curly hair and knows how to take care of it. If you have curly hair, go see her! She is so knowledgeable and really listens to what you want. Best in the area by far!

I had an appointment with both Melissa and Sydney. Melissa helped me achieve my ideal curly hair-- she is the only stylist in the area knowledgeable about the American Wave method which came out beautifully. Sydney gave me a regular haircut today. Both women are fantastic at their craft. I never envisioned myself to regularly go to a salon but they make it worth it.

Best care and haircut for a curly girl. Always consistent and looks great. Melissa has been cutting my hair for 5-6 years. Love her and salon. And when I style my hair straight...looks great too. I highly recommend Melissa!

I’m very picky about who does my hair. So much so that I usually go years without a proper cut. I did a lot of research on salons in the C-U area and finally decided to try Eden’s Rain and I’m so happy I did! My curls are back to being defined and full of volume. Melissa listened to what I wanted and gave me advice on how best to wash and style my hair. If you have curly hair I would highly recommend Eden’s Rain. I felt safe the entire time I was in the salon. Everything was clean, masks are worn at all times. It was such a great experience.

I’ve been getting my hair cut by Melissa for probably almost 10 years. She is very well educated on anything and everything to do with hair, and will lovingly handle any hairstyle or color change you desire.

She gave me a consultation. I've gone back every other month for 6 months now and she's kept it from looking like it's growing out. I’m a travel nurse and was deployed to Illinois quickly . I had just left my hometown saloon where I had gotten my hair colored / fried . I washed my hair and I cried when looked in the mirror, my hair was yellow, gold brass red and black on top . I had no time to find a new saloon . I arrived in champagne Illinois ashamed to be seen or look in the mirror… I searched the net and had a peace about this saloon .. I called in tears Melissa made a way for me due to a cancellation,, after a few hours or her knowledge, determination and artful skill expertise,, my hair was totally transformed into silk beautiful perfect color hair ,,, tears of joy for me and can’t stay out of the mirror!!!! Just left the salon after having the "Chill out mini spa" with Sarah and I am hooked. I have a major knot on my shoulder and she zeroed in on it. I have been getting regular massages for years, but no one has ever given me the relief that she has. The facial and foot massage were wonderful as well. I've already scheduled my next appointment!

GREAT FOR CURLY GIRLS!!!

I recently went back to wearing my hair curly after nearly 10 years using flat irons and curling irons. My poor hair had been subject to razors and thinning shears since I wasn't wearing it curly and didn't really know better.

Initially, after deciding to go back to my natural hair, I got a DevaCut at a different salon in town but was unhappy with the results. A few weeks later, I was thinking I might have to go to Chicago or Indianapolis for a decent cut, but then stumbled across Melissa through the DevaCurl website, and realized she's been styling my sister's (straight) hair for a long time.

I sent her a super long email explaining everything I know about my curly hair, and included a bunch of pictures, and we planned an appointment. When I came in for the appointment, she educated me but also listened to me. She is super knowledgeable, not just with the DevaCurl technique, but with lots of other curly techniques, and we made a plan on how to help my hair keep shape while I grow out my curls.

She is delightful, straightforward, and warm without being fake. This is the best salon experience I have ever had, and I'm looking super forward to having a long-term relationship with a curly hair specialist without having to travel or spend big-city prices.

I ALWAYS leave this salon looking & feeling great. I love how she knows exactly what to do with my hair every time. I am afraid to let anyone else near my hair! (Do not know what I will do when we move.) And the esthetician and massage therapist are just as great. This place is now a favorite of my husbands as well :) Thank you girls!

I love getting my hair done here! She takes such care and really understands what you want! My mother goes too and we both have decided to continue going to her because she listens and makes really great suggestions not only about hair but about life!
