Allegan County Historical Society

This place is awesome. The staff is top notch and have passion for Allegan county history. The tour was spectacular. Lots of great artifacts. The old jail is great to visit also. I love how they kept the drawings/artwork of past inmates. A small Chicora display also. Pretty sweet. I suspect I will be back here again. Hopefully soon.

It's a cool blast from the past!

Can't believe that this place has so much to see and so much local history. It's both jail and residence with the place bursting with displays. And it's free.

A great museum!! We (two adults and two kids, 6 and 8) toured the Old Jail Museum and highly recommend to everyone. A great escape for an afternoon!
There are so many artifacts that are neatly and creatively displayed. Our guide was gracious and kept the tour interesting and was patient with my not so patient children!
Definitely planning a return visit!

What a great little mueseum, full of wonderful history. Ask for a tour, the volunters are very knowledgeable and enthusiasts, that share their love of history.

We took a tour. The guide was very knowledgeable, and it was very interesting. I highly recommend visiting.

The Old Jail Museum was surprisingly fun. The house is divided into the house and what used to be the old Allegan jail. Only open Fridays and Saturdays, but if you happen to be in the area during one of those days, make the stop to one of the areas best free museums!

Me and family went here it was really cool to be here learned alot here the guy here was super nice and friendly it's worth the drive being here so if your into history like me then you should be here it's worth it

Friendly staff, really educational and interesting tour! Really neat seeing the old jail and all the antiques and items they have accumulated. Will be back!

This is a wonderful place to go. I recommend this to many people for an afternoon trip. Take time for lunch and a scenic time in Allegan.
