My family and I were in Bar Harbor on vacation (a 1000 mile drive from where we live) and on the way up we heard some funny rattling noises coming from the front wheel. Since I had my family with me, I was concerned that there could be a safety issue, so I started calling around to a bunch of different auto repair places. Bob's was the only place that called me back and even offered to have a look at my car, despite the fact that he was booked out 30 days. Bob himself helped me - he put the car up on a lift and immediately found the problem - a worn out ball joint. Definitely a HUGE safety concern before taking a 1000 mile drive back home. My family and I practically owe Bob our lives. And he was so pleasant to work with, so easy to talk to. I could go on and on. Thanks Bob - you made our vacation and then some!

On our way home (12 hour drive) and we got a flat tire. We put on the spare and searched for somewhere that could get us in. We called Bob and he squeezed us in (even though he was fully booked). Aidan took care of our tire, refilled the pressure in our spare and put the old tire back on for us all within the hour. Bob was super friendly and helpful, couldn’t have asked for a better experience in a stressful situation!

Car broke down outside Acadia National Park. Bob was efficient and thorough providing a quick repair. Didn't get to visit the park, but made it back 3 hours to our RV site at Moosehead lake. Would highly recommend.

My car died in a remote area in Acadia on a Sunday. It took me all day Monday to get it to Bob & Steve and when I called on Tuesday for progress it was already done! They were the only ones who would take me in my last week on the island and fixed it for a reasonable price, including a tire patch I didn't realize I needed. Bob preemptively ordered parts based on my report, which got us back faster despite that it wasn't a simple diagnosis. Everyone was also really nice - one of my best experiences with a business!

Got a flat tire in the park. Called Bob’s because I saw their terrific reviews. Got towed to Bob’s. They had my tire repaired and we were in our way in no time! Thank you for saving the day!!!!

While in the area on vacation, my brakes started making very loud noises.
I felt it was caused by a sticking caliper. I called Bob's and spoke with Amy who had me come in. They quickly verified that my issue was with the calipers and ordered the needed parts. When the parts arrived they had them installed in a very timely manner and the price for the repairs was very fair. All the folks there were very nice and professional and the shop was very clean. I highly recommend Bob's

I was on vacation and my tire got damaged on the first day! The hole was not fixable and I had no spare tire. Bob was great, he ordered a new tire at a very reasonable price (my dealer would have charged me a lot more) and replaced right after it arrived. I was so grateful. He saved our vacation. He is also a super nice person. Thank you!

The intake pipe on my 6.7 diesel blew out on our way to Bar Harbor. I called local ford dealers looking for help but received none. Should have called Bob's first! Steve was better than I could have asked for. They made sure the truck got fixed, saving our piece of mind for our vacation. His charge for everything was well below what I had expected. This is the place to go for auto work! Straight talkers, competent mechanics, reasonable prices. Thank you guys so much!

Our diesel trucks starter died, and no other auto mechanic, even Ford, had an opening that was earlier than two months! We called Bobs auto repair and they got us in in 1 week!
Steve went above and beyond to fix the truck and get it back to us the next day!!! KUDOS Steve and Thank you!

Highly recommend. Fast, professional service. Steve was very helpful and understanding. Needed to replace a cigarette lighter port that burnt out (not the fuse) which was needed to power my husbands portable oxygen machine in the car while on his last vacation. Steve got the parts and repaired it the same day. I am forever grateful for this garage. If you need fast immediate service try this place.

A bolt in the tire on vacation. Option 1: dismount the flat, mount the spare and run to Vip for a plug set. Option 2: bring it to Bob's. Customer service was top notch! A short time later we were back on the road exploring the State we love so much. Thanks Bob's and thank you Patrick for nailing it today. Real Maine business. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Had a flat tire. Dropped it off and left my number. They called when it was finished then reinstalled it on my SUV... he greased each bolt, tested each lug nut with a tourque wrench, checked the pressure on each tire including the spare. Extremely thorough! Reasonable price. Very neat shop. Very friendly, polite staff. Highly recommend!

We were on a road trip visiting Acadia when I heard a strange noise coming from the car. We called Bob's, and they squeezed us in even though they had a full day. When we brought the car there, they helped us sooner than I thought they would. Despite not being able to replicate the issue, the mechanics made some guesses based on my description and were able to solve the problem in a very short time. They charged a very reasonable price as well.

To anyone experiencing car trouble in Acadia or nearby, I strongly recommend checking in with Bob's.

On vacation, got a flat. Showed up 5 minutes before close to try and get our flat repaired. All 3 mechanics stopped what they were doing to come check it out and help. Ended up talking with one for 30 minutes about recommendations for things to do on Acadia. Fixed, installed, and paid. Super friendly and professional. I hope no one else gets into car trouble, but if you do this is where you would want to go. If I lived in the area I would go back for normal maintenance.

Needed air in my tires before making a long drive back to VA. Helped me right away and gave me a history lesson of the island too! Incredibly helpful and friendly. Would recommend to anyone traveling to Acadia.

Amazing service! On a long road trip, I had a problem with my 1995 Saturn station wagon and barely limped into Bar Harbor, ME. I got a recommendation for Bob's Auto Repair from a local business owner and had my car towed to Bob's shop. I was thinking it might be a 2 week stopover since my car is so old and I've had problems with locating parts in the past. I communicated by phone with Bob about the symptoms and we spoke during the day a couple of times. Since Bob had pro-actively ordered an alternator (based on our conversation), he was able to replace the alternator in a single day (never would have believed it!). But that's not all - he found that there had been an oil leak (probably a gasket had been left off in the prior oil change), changed the oil, tightened the battery, replaced a very worn belt and pulley - all work that prevented future breakdowns and problems. Plus, Bob is a lovely person and clearly works hard to anticipate problems and provide good value. He really saved me a whole lot of hassle and both me and my car are so grateful! I can't recommend this business more highly.

On multiple vacations over the last 10 years, Bob's Auto Repair has serviced/fixed several of my vehicles. Some of the best auto-service I've ever experienced. Highly recommended. Unfortunately he couldn't fix a Ford Explorer transmission issue.

Our Odyssey failed to start on several occasions during our stay on MDI, so we assumed the battery had failed. Bob tested the battery minutes after our arrival and it checked out fine. We departed after 15 minutes of battery terminal cleaning and a $15 charge, and so far every start has been just fine. What could have been a vacation spoiler, turned into minor inconvenience. THANK YOU BOB!
