Love this location. All locations feel like a slice of history but NOTHING in the dining room has changed from when I was 7 years old (I'm 29 now)

A few bad experiences always has me skeptical to go to a jreck subs but generally it's not like that.

The closers I had the pleasure of ordering from tonight were hilarious and relatable.

Great value. Good, hearty subs. Soft buns for easy bitin'. Diner-esque atmosphere. Could use a bit more variety in toppings. Friendly staff.

Went for a quick takeaway on a Sunday evening. Service was a little slow, but that was okay. The vegetables used on my sub were really fresh and thankfully, they had everything! It was a really good turkey sub, couldn't be happier with my meal!

I come here all the time, and I can say I've never had a bad experience. The workers are kind and patient, and cooperative when you say "just a tad bit of onion." They're fast, as far as I've seen, very clean, and the prices are reasonable.

Been a customer there since it opened in 1969 things have changed since then but now it's so much better service and more better service than it was many years ago the new owners Mark and Sally are terrific people I recommend Jreck Sub on my top list for a meal

I would like to let you know that the lady's that work their on days are very good at what they do the place is very clean they are always cleaning something. I know cause I eat their everyday all I have to do is pull in the parking lot and they have my sub made I will not go to the one on Washington Street or Arsenal Street they are just plan rude and you feel like your a inconvenience to them so I will drive all the way across town to State Street Sub shop they are awesome I love them all;)

Soft, tender sub rolls are the key to this local favorite. They're so much softer than Subway. I can't think of anything else that stands apart other than maybe the fine shredded lettuce. They have a few unique appetizers as well, like toasted ravioli. Excellent subs.

Food is always fresh, staff is usually pretty nice and easy going.

If you are in the area and looking for a Sub I would highly recommend any of the local jreck subs locations. The one State Street is pretty good, they've got a bike rack available during the summer months for those you who prefer to ride their bike, and you've got a gas station right across the street.

Inside there are a few tables, the seats are about standard for a quick service / fast food restaurant, in other words just comfortable enough to let you sit and eat, not enough to encourage you to lounge around and read your book while you do so, something I do in occasion anyway.

I've never had any issues with any of the staff at any of the Jreck locations in Watertown, and the state street one is no exception to this. They are friendly, helpful and fast

Now let's talk about the important part, the subs. The rolls aren't fresh baked in house like at Subway but they somehow taste better, even if the crust isn't quite as firm. The ingredients really shine through too. The meats always taste fresh and are nice and cool, no warm "I've been sitting in this container all day" feelings there. The lettuce is crisp and , the tomatos are ok, not perfect, just passable.

Now don't expect alot of topping choices at Jrecks. You'll find your basics, lettuce, tomato, onions, etc, but that's it. The ingredients are of a high quality though, so I personally find it's worth the trade off.

The real great part about Jreck though is their hot foods. Their steak sub is leagues better then that at any Subway, in fact I'd argue they are the best I've had so far. Also their fries are really nice, perfectly crisp and with just the right amount of salt.

Overall I'd highly recommend Jrecks to anyone looking for a good sub at a decent price.

Jreck Subs one of my favorite places to grab a fast sandwich. Bread is always fresh and service is great. They make your sub to order just the way you like it.
