Since the crime wave on pharmacys, Duane like many others has resorted to locking up everything in sight. The days of popping in quickly to pick up a few things are gone. Staff are running around playing whack-a-mole with the alarms and less people to be at the registers means crazy long lines of 20 people. Gonna lose another star from the review.

Okay, not sure why this Duane Reade got such a bad rap. It's not perfect, but that's not their motto. They have virtually everything you need, the AC works again. Most of the staff are really nice. It might not be perfect, but don't low ball it from one bad experience.

Horrible customer service from Mayra P. She was condescending, rude, and took it upon herself to lecture me like a child. Avoid this location if you can.

Not returning after my visit today. The middle aged black woman with glasses is so rude, and I definitely think she has something against Asians or Asian women. I interacted with her a few times in the last year, and today was the worst. I asked for a bag, she and I noticed the bottom of bag was falling apart. As soon as I said it, she proceeded to throw in (not even toss at best but throw) my 3 items as she muttered something under her breath. My 11 year old daughter thought she would flip out or something. I took out my items out of the bag, noticed one was actually dented from the woman throwing, so I replaced it and left. Not going back again. Oh, and to other non-asian customers before me? Nothing so unpleasant.

Terrible. You can’t get the pharmacy on the phone. Now I will have to go down there to ask a question re a script as the automated service says something different each time I call. How stressful. Not sure why we even write a rating when nothing is done about it. Service never changes. Ginormous sigh!

Most of the staff are pretty good now but there’s a new woman working there there with light skin, long hair, and she has a horrible attitude. She was talking down to my wife, huffing and puffing under her breath. Acting like you don’t want to do your job isn’t a good way to keep your job….

Medication never ready on time, even when get call ready for pickup. Extremely long lines at pharmacy. Staff at checkout more interested in talking to each other than waiting on customers. Even when you make it to pay for your merchandise the staff is still talking to their coworkers and don’t even acknowledge me. This has been the case numerous times and the lines are horrible. Avoid this store.

Worst Duane Reade in the city. Can't believe they call the bored, hostile do-nothings at the register "Customer Service Representatives." They represent absolutely everything that is wrong with customer service in NYC, and Walgreens/Duane Reade should be ashamed of what they are offering the public. This place needs a complete overhaul in staffing, including management, as no true customer service leader would associate themselves with such an absolute embarrassment of a location.
Do better, Walgreens. This store is unacceptable.

One of the worst Duane reade I’ve ever been too. The cashiers have such a terrible attitude and are very bold into making you feel uncomfortable. All I’m doing is spending my hard worked earn money into the store. If the cashiers are in a bad mood that’s not my fault. Stop taken out anger on the wrong people. Me the customer. if you don’t want to work there THATS NOT MY FAULT!!!!!

Very poor customer service overall A very difficult place to shop in.
You can never find a sales person when you need something. Some of the cashiers can be very unfriendly and they're socializing with each other and making customers wait. I am a Physician and the Pharmacy can be an absolute nightmare. Very long waits to speak to anyone. Staff needs to be better trained.

Really the worst Duane in the city. Employees are unfriendly, not helpful and most of the time they are so consumed in conversation with each other and do not help employees. The button you press for assistance means nothing. They never come unless you go find someone to help. If they come help you, they are visibly disgusted that they needed to come help you. I will rather walk and extra avenue and a few block and go to CVS.

It’s time to get the management fired at this place.
