Friendly and very attentive staff. The food was excellent. The black beans were great, highly recommend. Tacos were authentic. Would like yo return for their margarita night or their flight of margaritas night. Beautiful painted portraits on the walls. Atmosphere was cozy with a Mexican flair. Loved the wooden tables.

Quality food with an amazing atmosphere. Server always kept the drinks topped off and the food came out hot and delicious. Highly recommend stopping in for a bite to eat. Their guacamole cart is an awesome experience.

We LOVE this place! We enjoy sitting at the bar. Always quick service.

The manager Jose always makes the experience even better. They grow their own sugar cane to use with the tequila, it's delicious.

The food is always fast and tastes amazing. My favorite is the Giant Flautas, or creating your own quesadilla. They have great steak and chicken.

Would HIGHLY recommend. Excellent atmosphere as well as food and drinks.

We love eating outside here. Our kids are obsessed with trains and not eating dinner so it is one of the only places that eating out with a 6 month, 3 and 4 year old isn't super stressful. They like to play with the fountain and climb on the caboose. The even like the food, which is more that I can say about how they feel about the food I cook them. The service is great and accommodating.

The restaurant is clean, has an updated menu with an excellent selection of cocktails. It's not the typical tex mex food you see on every menu. The street corn was fantastic and the vegetarian enchiladas were fresh and delicious. The service was above average and I would highly recommend checking it out.

The food tasted good! The outside dining area is nice and it isn't a problem at all to find some shade from the sun. The staff are nice and treated us with respect. I would recommend coming here if you are passing through the area and looking for a Tex-Mex restaurant.

We took my mom here to celebrate her 80th birthday. The food was delicious, our server was a total sweetheart and the murals were stunning!

Beautiful, clean building with great style. The food is way above average Mexican fare. Not at all the typical chain restaurant, microwaved dishes. The service was outstanding. My table had many modifications to the items ordered and all of them were addressed flawlessly. Try the Mole' sauce, worth the trip.

Great food, fast service. This was our first time there and it didn't disappoint. Tons of different plates to choose from. Can't wait to go back and try something else.

El Tren is a great Mexican restaurant! Growing up in Arizona I was raised on great Mexican food. And El Tren does a super job.
I would not call it "authentic". Being in Ohio truly authentic is hard to find unfortunately. But they do serve really great tasting Mexican dishes. I would say they are one of the best Mexican restaurants we have in Akron.
I really love their fresh made to order guacamole. They make it for you at your table.
They also have a really nice patio section you can dine in. My son loves to eat outside as there are two different train cars to look at (hence the name "El Tren").
Very affordably priced. And right of the circle in Tallmadge.

5/2023: The service was fast and excellent! Our second time and the food we ordered was delicious. Very cozy and clean atmosphere, felt very nice to dine here.

From beginning to end it was fantastic! Great service, great music, beautiful outdoor seating, food was fast and tasty. The drinks tasted as good as they looked! The band playing tonight was so fun and kept a good energy going! We will be back! 👏👏👏

I went to El Tren on the recommendation of my friends at my barber shop and they were not wrong with how awesome this place is. I went for the first time about a week ago and have been back two more times since then. The table made guac, choriqueso and chips and salsa are some of the best (though if you do not like cilantro, you probably won't like the salsa). The entrees have also all been amazing and I definitely recommend the burrito hacienda. Finally, they have an app for ordering to go that even takes Apple Pay. Definitely a win win. Not the best pics below but thought I'd still share.

Staff is friendly but our server seemed too busy to give us much attention. He was rushing everything. Delicious food though. Tableside guacamole was also not served tableside so that was disappointing.

Love this place! But I also love Mexican food. One unique thing about this particular restaurant I like is that they have a mobile guacamole cart.

They have an individual who will go from table to table and ask if you'd like fresh guacamole made. It's made to the customers' specifications to.

I definitely like going here and have never had a bad meal. Enjoy amigos!
