Impeccably maintained by helpful, knowledgeable, friendly staff. I have always found the staff to be immediately attentive to any question or concerns I have.
The facility is lovely inside and out. The staff continually tries to create engagement with many groups, ages, communities.
I appreciate the beautiful native plant garden in the circle. Great design to present the idea of planting natives without sacrificing beauty.
The separated children’s area is such a great layout for those on both sides.
I’ve been in meetings using the conference rooms. Such a helpful community resource.
Bravo! City of Chesapeake!

My 7-year old is a voracious reader and I find that this library has easily become home to us. They have a great selection for kids and no shortage of adult thrillers. Friendly staff, with one particular older gentleman going above and beyond to help us navigate the books. Love it here!

Small but nice library. It’s easy to go in and get a card and then use the self help kiosks to check out some books. They have a surprisingly good selection of books too— lots of popular artists and titles, as well as stuff I’ve had on my reading list for a while. There are also DVDs and video games that you can check out.

Pretty good. Not as big as central but it is a stones throw from the house so it is a nice walk. Everything you could need is there. They even have video games you can rent which is cool because instead of buying a game for 60 bucks you can rent it and return it for free if you are a va beach resident.

This was my library in childhood, and it's still a great place to find something to read or just have a quiet time.

We had a great visit. We got some goodies for the summer reading and the 1,000 books before kindergarten programs. The staff is always super helpful. They've built a small park next to it so you can borrow some books for the family and get the kids some playtime. There's one covered table but no shade so on very hot days it's a no go. The police department is nestled between the two and sometimes they give out badge stickers to give to the kiddos.

It was excellent! Customer service is great. The staff aims to please. I just wish that I was a Virginia Beach resident! The other thing is that the location is so, so convenient! Public transit ( HRT #24 ) does pass by - southbound to Robert Hall @ quarter past the hour and northbound to Pembroke Mall @ half past the hour. For those who are driving it's on the opposite side of Kempsville Rd from Fairfield Commons and Kempsville Presbyterian Church

Friendly, helpful staff. Great children's play area. Wonderful story times, science times, and other miscellaneous children's programs. The summer programs are wonderful. They have a 1,000 books by kindergarten and a summer reading program that encourages reading. I also have heard great things about their homeschool group. Every Thursday from 10-2 in the summer they have a local farm produce stand. There's a lovely park and playground behind the library.

Been going here for 30 years. They have a good selection of games and graphic novels for the kids and since it's the public library then you just request a hold on any items not available that day. Police department is no longer right next door. Its behind it and they have an awesome park with cornhole boards.

Been going here for years. Very well kept and up to date. There is a kids zone where it can be loud, but I rather they spend time there than the streets. The employees are very helpful and I've never encountered a problem.

Although the library system said they had two copies of the book I wanted, I couldn't find it on the shelf. I went and asked for help, and learned that the two copies shown in the computer were at two different locations, within the Virginia Beach Library network. I missed that in the computer when I looked it up. The staff helped me put it on hold and is having it shipped to this location, as it is the closest. Very friendly, and helpful, staff.
