My first time coming here. All the times I've been to Virginia Beach and I didn't know that it was right there in plain sight. If you didn't know it was there you would miss it. It's a little house right in the middle of the block, but when you walk inside it greets you with a powerful punch. It was pretty busy inside today for a Saturday, but we were seated pretty quick. The menu has a lot to choose from and also the prices are very reasonable. I ordered the heart attack and it was very good. You also get large portions of food also. I would definitely come here again and again. The server was very attentive and also remembered everything we ordered without writing one thing down. Great service.

This hidden gem is so unique that when you leave, you will only wonder how even locals wander past this spot without ever experiencing it. The atmosphere has a vintage feel unmatched by any other local restaurant. The service is excellent! The food is very delicious, with portions sure to fill /satisfy most.

Went early on a Saturday morning and only waited about 15 minutes. It’s the cutest spot with a classic old time vibe (in a good way). The service was quick, food was delicious. We will definitely be back again soon!

The food quality, the flavor, and service was all great! This has become my regular weekend place that is well worth the wait for a table! If you don’t like waiting, grab a seat at the bar! Either way, go here… then go back the next day! The prices are unbeatable!

My wife and I were here for our 7 years marriage anniversary.
Came to the beach for a couple of days and we found this amazing and friendly place.
Unfortunately we don't remember our server's name but she was awesome.
Some great gentlemen even bought breakfast for us on Sunday. We were at the restaurant Saturday and Sunday morning, we even got to know a bit of story for that particular place. Long story short that place was a hospital back in the 70s. If you're visiting Virginia beach please don't leave with eating here.

I had another breakfast spot in mind, but someone recommended this place. I never knew it was here! I guess I never really paid attention. The food was great, and the service was even greater. Our orders came out super fast. I'm still trying to figure out how. I highly recommend and I'd like to return sometime soon.

Hands down best breakfast in Virginia Beach. We love to sit at bar. Fantastic service, you can watch them cook your breakfast. Everything comes out hot and delicious. My husband got the heart attack with steak and I got the Doc Taylor's sandwich. Prices are great. Steak was very good had a lot of flavor and tender.

Can't believe I've never been here until now. This place is fantastic. We had an amazing experience. Biscuits and gravy were soooo good. Forgot to take a picture I was too hungry. Next time for sure!

We're here on vacation and I seen this place while trying to find walkable place to eat at. Found out they aren't open Mondays or Tuesdays and happened to be closed on Wednesday this week as well. Waited all week to try the Chipped Beef on toast and it didn't disappoint! Highly recommend this place if you are in the area. Whole family was happy and services was great. Just make sure they are open before heading there. I recommend checking out their Facebook page to verify they are indeed open as Google isn't always accurate. 🙂

Thankfully we got seated promptly because the place was busy.

My breakfast burrito was scrumptious, a little spicy but not too much. My friend got the chipped beef on toast which she thoroughly enjoyed. Better than the food was the fast efficient service provided by our server Meg. Her pleasant personality and sweet smile put the cherry on top of a great breakfast. Thank you Meg.

Pricing of food was reasonable.

What a fun local gem! The atmosphere is great, along with the service and food. Good Bloody Mary's for $3.25! The Doc Taylor Sandwich is delicious. The banana pancakes were quiet tasty as well.

On vscay in Virginia Beach...

Let's start with our server HEIDI...she was knowledgeable and made great suggestions.
From the parmesan crusted grilled tomatoes to the Eggs Bene Ala Graz and the NOLA Surprise Omelette everything thong was awesome.
Try the house bloody Mary's if you are so inclined.
The cold brew ice coffee is a winner!

Give this place a try!!!

This is our last day at the beach. We decided to try this place and it was by far the best. We didn’t have to wait for a table and we went at 10 am. Our server was friendly unlike the other places we have been to and the food was amazing. I tried a mimosa and it was so good.

A Virginia beach institution, the building is on the historical register. The food was wonderful, all the basics you expect (and more) - ‘The Stroke’ was awesome. Waitresses are friendly and efficient, but parking can be a pain. Waits can become an issue as the day wears on. A must on your first visit to get old school Virginia Beach feel.

Visiting Virginia Beach for the first time. Relied on Google local guides to find a nice place for breakfast.

Doc Taylor's offered just the right combination of Beach charm, great food and it was a short walk away.

Service was fast and friendly just like you'd expect. The bloody Mary's and mimosas were a refreshing start.

Both breakfast orders were hot, fresh and tasty. Each of us found several things on the menu to order for our next visit.

Give Doc Taylor's a try during your beach stay. You won't be disappointed.

Doc Taylor's was a first for me and I'd recommend to someone who's never been before easily. Finding it can be a little tricky (park in the back or on the street, walk to the front door where you see the ramp). It definitely gives chill beach vibes. Braden was our server and he was super sweet. Our food came out fast as hell too. Like. We ordered and there it was. Not sure if it was because it was 10 A.M. but I wasn't mad. The mimosas are delicious too. I ordered The Stroke and Doctor Tuttle's French toast and did a happy dance all the way through. Try it out if you've never been. And sit in the sun room if you can. It's nice

We went on the morning of the 4th of July. 40 min wait, but we’ll worth the wait.
We had the sweet potato and pecan pancakes which were fantastic. The service was awesome and the price was even better.
The old house the restaurant is in reminded us of our own home down south, which made the experience even better. 5 ⭐
