Repeal Bourbon & Burgers

Normally I wait and write a ton of reviews when I'm bored at home procrastinating doing what I should be doing, BUT, this place was so good I'm writing after we left right now.
First, the atmosphere was very chill, the bartenders were friendly as soon as we walked in. Love that the menu is small and adequately prohibition themed. Ordered our drinks (Planter's Punch and The Southside) and the only word to describe them both is SMOOOOTH... And good!
We had the Pork Belly Burnt Ends to start (highly recommend) followed by the Pugilist and the Huntsman burgers. We also had the Chef's choice brussel sprouts, truffle mac n cheese, and bacon dust fries. The Pugilist had the perfect amount of blue cheese to not over power but enhance the beef flavor, the garlic aioli paired well enough I didn't need any additional condiments. I tasted the hubs Huntsman burger, and although I'm not a fan of elk, I'll admit I'd take a few more bites! I absolutely do NOT eat brussel sprouts so can not personally vouch for them but the hubs is adamant they were delicious. The only "complaint" I can say from start to end is the macaronis were a little softer for my liking (I'm a big al dente fan), but the flavor more than made up for it, I will be ordering it again. And finally ... The bacon dusted fries... The menu doesn't state they are CANDIED BACON dusted fries (I would have ordered two), so I was very pleasantly surprised with the first bite I had to slowly much to savor them throughout the meal.

TLDR, I'm a huge fan, 12/10 will be back the next trip to VB!

Great atmosphere! Friendly service! The tempura fried mushrooms and crab cake balls appetizers were delicious. Highly recommend the huntsman burger and truffle Mac n cheese. The peach caviar: (sexton Single malt, pimento dram, grilled peach syrup, and lemon) was very tasty as well!

Amazing food! The burger was cooked to perfection. We also had burnt ends and the beer cheese. The cheese was super spicy but so delicious. Food is a 10/10.

The drinks were great but on the pricey side. It’s worth it once in a while for sure.

Service is friendly and super attentive. They were quite accommodating even though the restaurant was packed.
Can’t wait to come back

Our party of 6 each had a different burger, bacon dust flavored fries/regular fries, and a mixed drink. Our food was phenomenal, and our drinks were delicious! The service was great. 👍

Bourbon and Burgers, what's not to like. The bourbon selection is immense. Old Fashions are amazing, with a wide range of bitters. While you throw back a few drinks and the hunger hits; go ahead and order a burger, best burgers on the Waterfront. Mac and Cheese is amazing. If you can't tell I love this place.

If you are into whiskey this is a nice hidden gem of a spot in VA Beach. They have an outstanding bourbon collection, great cocktails and reasonable prices.

The burgers are very good but the reason I went,and went back, was the whiskey selection.

WOW...DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO SAY! We stopped for lunch on a Thursday afternoon and it wasn't busy, but we were treated like VIPs. Great service, great atmosphere and great food. Hubby was thrilled over the huge selection of bourbon. Burgers were great, but the must haves? Sweet potato fries, which we think might have brown sugar on them, and the bacon dusted fries. Both were amazing. If in Virginia Beach, this is a must!

Pretty good burgers here. I also had the truffle mac and cheese. It was pretty good and a great atmosphere.

The best burger in the area if not all around. The service is great. Huge selection of burgers. The fried mushrooms and Brussels were a great appetizer. Prices are way more than reasonable. They should charge more. The burger was flavored perfect. The bun was top notch. Cocktails were amazing too. Sweet potato fries were perfect.

Here on vacation. Every place was busy so we decided to give this place a try. The decor is very grudgy and dark like hard rock. The sign outside says they don't serve kid meals. I guess they are trying to keep it adult only. Our meal consisted of a cup of chili, nachos, and chili lettuce wraps. The food was VERY GOOD. We all enjoyed it.

First time customer, definitely won't be my last time! Nachos were a great starter (chili is to die for!) Shrooms burger is one of the best I've ever had. Bacon dusted fries also delicious.

I see why we were recommended this place. Great burger. Pork belly was done to perfection, tender on the inside while still crisp and smokey on the outside. Great compliment to the cucumber and other dressings. The truffle fries and truffle Mac 'n cheese were divine. Planter's Punch was nice and sweet.

Our waiter was a nice guy, checked up on us multiple times, and kept our waters full.

Fair warning, the place is very small and there's limited seating, so if you have a big party you might want to call ahead and make sure they have room. However, while we were there it was not crowded. I think there were only three or four other people total.

Would recommend to anyone who loves a good burger and enjoys a cocktail in an intimate setting.

We attended one of their bourbon dinners and had an absolute blast! The food was amazing, and the drinks were just as amazing. We will definitely be returning for both regular hours as well as participating in future bourbon dinners.

We had the best meal here! The burgers are delicious and the fries are amazing! We also had the crab cake appetizer and they were delicious. Definitely recommend those and the pretzal bread! The drinks were amazing also. I had a sweeter bourbon with strawberry . It was so good. Can't wait to come back and try something else!

Well this was a pleasant surprise. From the black decor you'd expect something completely different from what you experience. The Planter's Punch was delightful and then I added the Capone with the Brussels Sprouts side and I've never had better spouts!!! They were so good I took an appetizer size to go!

I came a few yrs ago and loved everything about this place. I just ordered a burger off of DoorDash from them and it’s probably in the top five burgers I’ve ever had!! Try the godfather!! All of the ingredients work so well with each other and it had so much flavor! My truffle fries and Mac were also perfect!

On a family vacation from NH. Saw this place on Google maps and wanted to try. Stopped in for lunch and it was amazing. Had the Fire & Brimstone, side of Brussel Sprouts, and an Old fashion. Best lunch ever!

The burger selection is great and flavorful! The service is always good. This is definitely always somewhere I go to several times when I’m in Virginia Beach. Try the truffle Mac & Cheese, you’ll thank me! And the whiskey sour is excellent!

Has a speak easy feel. The truffle fries were amazing. The burgers were even better! My fiance had the huntsman and I had the black and Bleu. Both were flavorful and delicious. Don't miss this spot!

Great service and EXCELLENT food! I had the Krabby Patty with a veggie burger patty. OMG It was AMAZING--flavorful, juicy, and just the right amount of crisp and tenderness. I had Brussel sprouts as a side and they did NOT disappoint. This place is tiny but so VERY BIG on flavor and hospitality. Our server was attentive and so welcoming. Will definitely come back!
