We love Good Wood! It's tough to find better prices for this level of quality furniture. Especially if you stain or paint the items yourself! Good Wood's main features are unfinished furniture pieces, although they also carry select finished items. Everything is well made; this isn't assembly line stuff that gets wobbly or falls apart after a few years. They carry something for every room, from beds to tables to shelves of all sizes. They carry wood stain products in store, and have a business they can recommend to stain or paint items that are unfinished. We've purchased over a dozen pieces for our home from here through the years and everything is still in excellent condition. In today's market it's rare to find places offering items of long term value like the ones found at Good Wood. Definitely give them a look, especially at sale times!

Service was excellent. They have a great selection of furniture with different options that you can choose from. You have a choice of unfinished or finished furniture so you can have it you way. Only good solid wood here for an incredible price. Staff very knowledgeable about all products. Would highly recommend coming to see what they have before any furniture purchase.

Popped in after lunch and pleasently surprised! We instantly found a piece that we have been wanting for months. Brittany was awesome & friendly. They also do custom staining! Everything was reasonably priced. Can't wait to go back ❤

One of the few unfinished furniture stores in the area. Very nice selection of solid wood furniture. Most furniture nowadays is made from sawdust. Buy here and have it forever. So simple to finish on your own or they will do it for you. Highly recommend visiting for any furniture need.

Excellent furniture, competitive prices. This place has high quality handmade wooden furniture at great prices. We were able to buy American made unfinished bookshelves and pick out the stain colors (with some helpful advice from the owner regarding color choices). I definitely recommend this place if you want solid, high quality furniture and a no hassle sales environment.

I found this store several years ago and they are now my "go to" place for all our furniture needs, we do not even shop elsewhere. We have purchased about 14 different pieces of wood furniture here over the years and could not be happier. They have a fantastic selection of furniture, plus they can order even more items from their catalogs. You can buy finished furniture or unfinished furniture, which you can stain yourself so that your rooms match exactly. They even sell stain and have examples of each to look at so you know what your finished product will look like. Their customer service is second to none. The Staff is knowledgeable and will help you find exactly what you need and want at a great price. Goodwood Furniture is your "Best" wood furniture store. We recently ordered bunk beds from Goodwood Furniture. Our salesperson, Dustin, was very helpful on the sales floor and even followed up to make sure we received the right color when the manufacturer made a change in paint. Dustin also was part of the delivery crew that brought the beds and assembled them (definitely recommend the white glove service where for a nominal fee they assemble the furniture for you!). The crew was very friendly and made sure everything was perfect before leaving. We will definitely use Goodwood again - excellent products and service!!

We live in South Caroline but we purchased a dresser from Good Wood located in Virginia Beach. We worked exclusively with Shawn. She was awesome!! She helped us pick out the right dresser for what we needed, & she even face-timed us so we could see the finishing color options ‘in person’ which was absolutely key to getting the right color. The dresser is solid & will most likely last a lifetime. This is a pricier option than other big box online furniture stores, however you truly ‘get what you pay for’ and we got an awesome piece of wood furniture that you would not find from online competitors. Overall, we are very happy with both the product & service received. Will definitely order from them if/when future needs arise. Thanks!!

My husband and I were in town visiting family over the holiday and had planned to do some furniture shopping for our new home while we were there. We stumbled upon Goodwood and after months of shopping since buying our house, this is by far the best experience we've had. Everyone at the store was extremely helpful, friendly, and professional. They made shopping there such a positive experience.
We loved their selection and quality as well as the prices! We live in the DC area where everything is so expensive which made Goodwood so refreshing. We ended up buying multiple pieces and are so happy with our purchases. If you're looking for an alternative to Ikea or overpriced big box furniture stores, this is the place for you. We look forward to coming back whenever we're in town in the future (yes they have a website and offer shipping but we just had such a great experience, we'll be back in person).

Excellent customer service! Dustin and Michael delivered and assembled a bed headboard and worked through a very challenging assembly process to connect it to my adjustable bed. These 2 gentlemen were on time, courteous, tidy, friendly, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. I will definitely be returning to Goodwood Furniture for my future furniture needs. The entire process from the initial order to delivery and installation was pleasant and efficient!

My wife and I bought a small table and two chairs for our kitchen and we absolutely loved how sturdy they where, so when it came time to buy a new chest of drawers they where my first pick. When we arrived the staff was very helpful in loading it into our vehicle and then where very helpful in picking out a stain for it.

Excellent customer service! The whole staff goes out of their way to ensure you are happy with your purchase. They went above and beyond when trying to help resolve issues we had with our desk that was purchased a year ago. They worked with the manufacture and were able to get us the parts we needed. Very happy with our purchase and their great customer service.

I ordered a coffee table but the lower shelf arrived damaged. Shawn immediately took care of the problem and had a new shelf shipped within days. Great customer service!

I love these people and their furniture. They have real good quality furniture and not that cheap stuff like Ashley and all the other places have. We found my daughter a dresser here that is made good and going to last. When we looked at furniture in Ashley's it was all really thin and made out of fake wood but not here. We got our daughters dresser and it is good quality. We choose to take it unfinished with no paint or stain and my husband ended up painting it pink. It turned out so good and very cute.

I have purchased five pieces of furniture over the last several years from Goodwood Furniture, so I was familiar with the quality of their products. When we were in the market for new furniture we knew exactly where to go. Our most recent purchase was the wooden swing with the drop-down cup holder, I cannot rave enough about this solid wood swing. We are the envy of the neighborhood, just yesterday someone asked to swing with their baby. The solid construction guarantees this will be a family heirloom. The customer service we received from this family owned business was superior. Everyone was extremely knowledable, friendly, and willing to guide us with refinishing another piece of furniture. From the showroom floor, to the delivery, and assembly, we cannot rave enough about this gem of a business. Offering finished and unfinshed wood products, their attention to detail and friendliness will keep us as customers in the future.

My previous negative review was, in fact, for a different company. (The Hampton store, now closed.) I apologize. I’ve never had bad service at good wood in Virginia Beach. I’m giving 5 stars for the gracious response to my mistake.
