Sentara Norfolk General Hospital

Thank you so much for helping me find the answers to my epileptic and non epileptic seizures. I’ve been suffering for ten years with no answers! This hospital will do extensive testing to provide you the best care possible. You’ve saved me from a great deal of suffering and not understanding why I couldn’t get better. Great neuro team, cardiology team, and psych team. Nurses are phenomenal as well. Very attentive and caring.

Had my baby at 34 weeks and the staff was wonderful every doctor , nurse , front desk , the whole hospital was just great for me baby was in the NICU & Let Me Tell You they was the best of the best teams ever ! I thank god I had my baby here instead of Sentara Leigh. Couldn’t ask for the anything more . Now the baby is healthy and still striving !

I was transported by EMS and admitted to the trauma unit for 5 days after I fractured my hip. The staff immediately treated my horrible pain and had 2 surgeries. The ER Staff is to be commended for their kindness and sincere professionalism. The same thing goes with the Trauma unit on the 8th floor. From Jackie the housekeeper to the head nurses I given them praise for their superior service especially Sara the floor nurse and Nephrologist team. I thank you very much for your patience and professionalism. Thank you

My mother was diagnosed with larynx cancer and had to have a trak put in because it was blocking her airway she has the best team of doctors but one nurse stood out and her name was Sarah she has gone above and beyond she has been so good to my mother and I can’t thank her enough so that being said I’d like to pray for her and her family father god please protect miss Sarah at all cost she is a wonderful sweet woman she deserves the world

The Staff are very pleasant & friendly. Some of the residents need to learn better bedside manners! After all this is a learning experience. This is one of the best hospitals in the SE Virginia's area. all the Nurse's I had were very good, Raven, Kadajah, America, Audrey, Ashley, Snanna, Ly, Comfort, Sean, Austin, I'm sorry if I forgot some I had so many, but everyone on the 8th floor! Dr. Carver's team & Dr. Collins all of you hold a special place in my ❤ 💙 💜 & I want you to know that I really appreciate everything you all have done to get me healthy in my time of need!

Huge shout out to the surgical staff and nurses here at SNGH and the security guard who helped me find my way. From the beginning of the process to the end, this entire staff treated me with the upmost respect. Thank you all for service ❤

Most people complain cause they expect the ER to run like a damn fast food restaurant but In reality it don’t work like that a lot of the stuff y’all complain about are very non emergent but we still treat all of you the same on a very short handed staff so if you want to make a world a better place how about come apply and share your thoughts and try to innovate some changes you’d think that will help come play on this side of the fence THIS IS THR BEST HOSPITAL IVE HAVE EVER SEEN

Nothing but the highest praise for the Short Stay Unit. Natalie, Elysse, Christiana, and Jah were wonderful during my short stay in Sentara. I'm very grateful for all they have done for me.

The best hospital I’ve ever been in in my 44 years. Every single person I came into contact with was very friendly, polite and helpful. The hospital itself was beautiful, clean and welcoming. Everything is new, from the beds to the parking garages. Very high quality hospital overall. I would highly recommend this hospital. The cafeteria was simply amazing as well. I don’t have one bad or negative thing to say about it. My son was there for three days and I’m so thankful he was taken to this hospital. Traffic getting there and parking can be rough but I promise it is worth it

Even thought the communication could have been better on what they wanted to do when we were in the ER the experience as whole was saved by the surgery team and nurses. For explaining in detail the process and what we may or may not expect. Everything went smoothly with my boyfriends surgery.

Great, caring staff at all levels. Responsive and understanding. 5 stars on food as well!

Patient here for a while

The Health care is above the Bar across the board. From the emergency room staff, security guards, nurses, nurse managers, cafeteria and therapists and Doctors, the Hospital is hands above the rest.

I had a great experience as a patient here. I actually started with labor pains on Thursday , however I was only 1.5 dilated. I was sent back home and it took me two days to have the distance between contractions they said I should have. Once my contractions were that close it was Friday at midnight, I got to the ER at 1am and I believe we were admitted to maternity on Saturday around 2-3am then I was able to have two people at my delivery room and it was so appreciated because I really needed my mom to be in the room. The nurse at my delivery was Evelyn, she was very nice and attentive. We got a welcome box that had very useful items. One time a nurse brought me a snack at midnight because I was craving something sweet (they took a while to come with the snack, but I didn’t mind because I understood they’re busy). They were all really nice to me, my family and my baby. 10 stars ⭐
The only thing we had a hard time was when we were told my baby might have to stay an extra night without us because of jaundice… thankfully things worked out okay at the end.

On May 6, I had a fall with injuries and was transported to the ED, I was treated by incredibly caring and professional staff, the ED physician Dr. Christina Smith, she helped to keep me informed of all tests, xrays, CTs, lab work and results, I was anxious because I was visiting family and away from home. Dr. Smith and nurses Daniel and Belinda were so kind and treated my pain and other needs quickly and explained all medications when given. I am truly greatful to them.

I had my baby here last month , and I have to say..it was the BEST experience I've had! This was my 3rd delivery and by far the best. The delivery nurses were so nice and professional and caring. I had Sara for delivery and if I could give her 10 stars alone, I would. She was so attentive, and informative and legit cared for the well being of my baby and myself. I have to say the same for the maternity ward side after delivery. All the nurses and staff were so kind down to the food services ladies. I would recommend this hospital to anyone.to have their babies! I felt soncared for. Great job guys!! Thank you for everything!

My husband was transferred to this hospital back in the spring. We live 3 1/2 hours away the nurses and doctors kept me informed about his condition and progress.

I was transported here when I had a cardiac arrest. They performed a double bypass and I am alive today.

I have never seen an ER department as organized and efficient. We were taken immediately and the doctor came in within 3 minutes and provided care. Great job Sentara! Thank you

My father passed away this morning. Christina, and Angela, in the MICU were wonderful to him. The care he experienced, and the compassion we were shown was utterly amazing
