Journeys Kidz

My child attends a private school that does not permit children to wear laces unless they can tie them. An understandable policy but very difficult when your child has large feet for his age and doesnt quite yet have the coordination to tie shoes quite yet.

Saturday we went in and asked what solutions they had for us. I cannot remember the name of my associate, however he was tall and decently young. He proceeded to get onto the floor and teach my son how to tie his shoes in a method I had not seen before. Although my child didn't quite get it, it was excellent customer service by a fantastic associate.

We purchased Dinosaur Vans Saturday 1/21/17 (along with socks and hydrophobic spray.)

On November 17, 2018, I was in town visiting my family and took my nephew and two nieces to Mall of Georgia to buy something . We visited Journeys Kidz and were greeted warmly by Erin and Katherine. My nephew of 8 years old wanted a pair of sneakers with wheels at the bottom. I think they called them "heelys'. He found a pair he liked and so I purchased them for him.

I believe it was Erin who helped my nephew set up the shoes to wear immediately out the door. Tags were taken off and wheels were placed in shoes. My nephew attempted to skate with shoes in store and almost fell back. He became very upset over almost falling and not knowing how to use the shoes properly that he began to cry and said he no longer wanted the shoes. I am not used to being around my nephew when he becomes this upset. Both his sisters and I attempted to calm him down but it was not working. We told him it was impossible to return shoes since he had wore them already. (it was stated on the receipt..if worn could not return).

Well to my amazement, Erin/Katherine assisted with calming my nephew down and they were kind enough to let me exchange the shoes for other items in the store. I was very touched by their action. The store was full of people and they both tagged team to help my nephew who suffers from a sensory disorder to calm him down. Then assisted him with selecting other items that equaled the price of shoes. He ended up taking home a shirt and one toy I believe. All I can say is that this was the greatest example of customer service two associates could have ever made to please a customer. Erin/Katherine, I thank you both again for your kindness and help that night with my nephew. I truly appreciate you both. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Update 12/11/16 (my bad for deleting the review. I was going to edit it, but instead, the whole thing just went "bye bye"! :( )I totally disagree with Christina Dunlap, because this place is amazing! I am a 17 (about to turn 18 next month) female and I am 5 foot 3, so the doctor says I'm done growing, and their selection of boys' t-shirts and shoes are spot on! My shirt size is a mens' S/M and the t-shirts I pick out are in a boys XL, which is equal to my shirt size. I am a ladies' size 7, which would be a 5 in mens', and when we went to get me a pair of DC shoes, I was thinking about going up a size and they fit perfectly! When I come here from time to time, the management is always very cheerful and helpful. I will definitely be coming back even if someone says I'm too old for it cuz I wear boys' t-shirts all the time cuz I'm tomboy all the way!
Overall: A+ If you are tomboy all the way and short for your height like me, you will love this place. No joke!

We really enjoyed our visit here at the Mall of GA location. We were greeted promptly & friendly by Jacob. I purchased new sneakers for my identical twin daughters that are 6. We love the purple & pink converse that they got.

The only thing I wished it would have been more full service. When the young lady brought the shoes from the back, she just handed me the two boxes. I had 5 kids with me and expected professional service with assisting the girls & sizing them properly. She did assist me after I asked, but it could have been a much better experience if they were working hard to take care of their clients. We’ll go back and give them another shot though. Not bad visit.

Prices a little high priced but cute styles. Usually have good sizes. Would return.

Do NOT order online at Journeys Kidz!! I ordered four pairs of sneakers and received two of them and did not know where the other two were. The status online said unavailable. I received the third pair and a few days later I received the fourth pair. One of the boxes of shoes was completely torn apart. The corner of the box is literally detached. Upon calling customer service I was told that I would have to go in store to get a new box. This was a week before Christmas. I order online to avoid the holiday traffic and I am a single mother with kids and a full-time job. I know me requesting a new box is not strange because I’ve done it before with foot locker and they’ve gladly set me out a new box. Too bad I can’t post pictures on here for you guys to see the box. Their is no way I can wrap it.
