The raw oysters are fresh and delicious!!!! I live the boiled shrimp and sausage more. The seasoning for seafood boil is not my taste, too spicy and less flavorful (Like the spices and salt suppress the seafood's original taste) Nevertheless, it's still a nice place to try given its affordable price.

Another favorite when we are in the area!!! Husband always gets the all you can eat seafood boil, we have also tried the po boys, frog legs, and I always get a side of sausage from the boil. It is so juicy and flavorful! Service is great and the tako toddy is delicious also!

Probably the best shrimp and crab I have ever had in my life, I have had better lobster, but do not be afraid to try their boiled items as they are AMAZING! Their fried alligator tail was great, catfish was good, frog legs were a 3/10. Overall exceptional place to eat, and cannot recommend enough, the only thing that sucks is sometimes the waits can be long, and the place is usually quite packed with people...

Was just passing through and told my Who Dat buddy we got an hour to experience good food in Louisiana (no touristy spots please). This was the place he chose to showcase and Salvo's did not disappoint! Very unassuming place but it was the people that made the atmosphere so much appealing. I wanted to try a lot more than what I had room for. But everything I had was just amazing food! 😍 STUFFED artichoke?! Who does that? It was awesome. Crawfish eggrolls? How can you say no to that? Roast beef poboy? That gravy and french bread! Lawdy! Got to try the gumbo. Definitely made room for that. Soft shell crab... One wasn't enough! That thing was seasoned so well and cooked perfectly. Oh yeah... Made sure I still had room for desert. Bread pudding was so good and I'm told they use those already great french bread for this delicious dessert. But it's the rum sauce for this pudding that really means serious business! Their Beignets, fresh, light, and airy just melting in your mouth Geez! 🤤Some big easy pralines for the trip back home and I was a happy foody! My next go around here will definitely be all about the boil!

This is the spot. I will bring family and friends that are visiting here and I will suggest this place to anyone looking for a home town seafood joint. My friend brought me here and I'm so glad that he did period first of all just know that there is strawberry daquari is one of the best I've ever tasted. I have been craving it since actually. It is real strawberry blended with the drink so it is very luscious and fruity.
The onion rings are actual onions (if you can imagine real food in 2023) and they have this flaky crispy breading. Got the fried shrimp that was fresh and delicious! Can't wait to return.

The catfish here was phenomenal- honestly fine dining quality.

Bread pudding also, mind blowing.

There's nothing like authentic seafood at a local New Orleans restaurant. The food, the accents, and the whole experience is great.

Food was great...potatoe salad was fabulous...but the best thing that keeps me coming back...THE CHARGRILLED BLUE CRABS! So delicious 😋. Service was awesome. I was skeptical at first, but our server made us feel at ease and comfortable. Atmosphere was family friendly...open...casual.

The Alligator was AMAZING. The staff is always friendly and always give you what specials are going on. If I could give this place more stars I absolutely would. I've also had their 1lbs of shrimp and it was just as amazing. Thanks Salvo's!

Locals know where to go for fresh Local seafood. These guys know the guys who pull it out the water. They cook it up right and serve it to you fresh and delicious. So whether it’s boiled, fried or other… Salvo’s will always satisfy!

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. Totally my kind of restaurant. The seafood was fresh, tasted amazing, and didn't cost an arm and a leg. Proportions are super sized! This is a definite must stop if you're in town. I wish we had something like this in my hometown!

This is by far my favorite seafood restaurant. Food is always fresh and service is always excellent. My only complaint is that they’re closed on Sundays and Mondays because I’d eat every single day if I could!

I get mine to go. I love the boiled seafood and the gumbo and other things as well. Been eating there for years. Love it. 💙 🙂 I have eaten there and the atmosphere is just fine. Good service and good food. 👍

Enjoyed a seafood great dinner with me wife and my in-laws. I got the all you can eat shrimp and frog legs. My wife got the frog leg platter. My father in law also had the shrimp/frog leg all you can eat. My mother in law had the fried catfish platter. Service was great and food even better. The fry coating was perfectly seasoned and not to thick. Price was reasonably priced. So if you think shrimp and frog legs sound good visit them on a Thursday it is the daily special.

Overall good experience, server was a bit inattentive this trip. Food is always on point. Had the seafood sampler, 1# lobster, 1# dungeons crab cluster, 2# crawfish, sides galore. Super flavorful!

I was stationed near here back in the late 80s - early 90s and remembered the food at Salvo’s fondly. When my family returned to the New Orleans area for a visit, I insisted that we come here to eat. So very glad that my faith was not misplaced.

The food was fabulous. My daughter the $39.95 boil which included shrimp crawfish and crab. My brother-in-law ordered the same thing, but instead of crawfish had a whole lobster. I opted for the oyster, Po Boy, while my sister and nephew, had clam strips and fries. Everything that we ordered was amazing. Even with the tip, we got out of the restaurant for less than we would’ve paid for one person in Washington state.

How can you beat great food, great service, and a great price? If I ever get back to New Orleans, you can bet this will be one of the top spots on the list of places that I’ll go.
