Let me start by saying congrats to this location for having some of the most hardworking and AFFORDABLE cake decorators in town.

I purchased a $200 dollar cake for my daughters 2nd birthday. This was a popular bakery with a big following. I had viewed several of her cakes and decided on a piano theme for her cake. I paid in full and picked up when advised. I cried because the cake looked as though a child made it in a rush and got burnt while doing it!

Needless to say I shop Ideal for my produce and specialty funds. The cake area never crossed my mind. Until the day of distress (daughters birthday) and I pass one of the most beautiful pink birthday cakes. It had intricate designs, beautiful color, and attention to detail. So I went to make a request and bummer they didn't speak English.

I got discouraged and thought this is a bad idea, they waved me down and found a stocker in the store to translate. And it's been cake treasures every year for my daughter.

Affordability, intricate decorating skills, and top tier service. This year I used my apple 13 to easily translate with them and it was a breeze.

Hands down the best grocery store in LA !! Came here for there carne asada and tres leches and they did not disappoint amazing flavors also very unique. Lots of color throughout the whole store nothing boring here ! And not to forget their great customer service. Overall a 10/10 experience and I will continue to get my groceries and meats from IDEAL MARKET !

I frequent the Terrytown, Airline, and Baton Rouge locations weekly. The fresh produce with great prices, the outstanding bakery, crema and cheeses, herbs and spices, you can fine Palo Azul here, huge selection of meats, can't beat the hot food, and they carry this awesome 0 sugar breading (cracker crumbs) that we use for everything. Always friendly!

I love the fresh food they are cooking up.,ALWAYS smelling good in there. Love the season fajita meat, fave dinner nights when I make my own with their previously marinated meat. Love this place, and veggies are huge!

The prepared food is delicious and well-priced. The produce is affordable and always stacked more neatly than I've ever seen at any other store. It's a great place to pick up Maseca, spices, and dried peppers

My favorite place for finding everything my Salvadoran husband loves to eat! Freshly made bolillos, delicious Latin American food, yummy pastries, including a very good Tres Leches cake! Fabulous produce! Friendly attentive staff! A great place to mingle with friendly people & practice your español!!! Love it!!! My favorite location is on Terry Parkway on the Westbank with the very diligent manager Shalabi! Love it!!!

La Ideal has the best Honduran baliadas you can have. Great stop for a traditional Latin breakfast. Amazing semitas. Deserts drinks food and spices. The STEAK IS THE BEST!

Great Food, Ripe Avocados, Good Central American beer selection, Great Cashiers! A quick stop near Carol Sue for cilantro and other fresh produce!

Love this place! Their produce is always fresh and they sell delicious hot food and desserts!

Not very personable at the register at checkout....the store is very clean, produce has a lot more hard-to-get items than at the Broad St. location, the to go food, in the back of the store is tasteeee, love the spanish / english menu - for new comers, but I did see notice portion size differences depending on who served you - no worries, I got served enough for two, Yassss!!! ..if there is a line at the prepared counter ...you are standing smack dab in the front of the dessert case - great marketing!!!....mmmm, the cookies here are so buttery that they crumbled in my hands...OMG!!! Grandkids loved them. THE MEAT COUNTER...could have spent all day there, but I didn't have the time...going back, because it's a must do, on an hour lunch break from Marrero....put it on your to do list worth the trip!!!!! Trust me..BTW....pick up a Malta!!!!

I found a nice lil bag of apples here and a few other things. I really love the produce section. It's beautifully set up!

Their hot bar is amazing. Make sure you know some key words in Spanish, the staff doesn't speak English for the most part.

Great place great food and the price is right I like it and I'll continue to shop there... the food is unbelievable and it beats other stores any day just like the food in Colombia or close to it

Their mondongo (tripe) in coconut milk is the best. Carne asada tacos are $1 on Tuesday. Love their food.

Quite the selection, friendly staff. Went in for some beef and chicken fajita meat, left with 5 bags. Yum.

Latino grocery store but has something for everyone very nice people good service clean and some nice products you can't find anywhere else...

They have the freshest produce & meat in the area and much better prices than the local chain stores! 😊Will definitely be back.
