Hubbard's Cubbard

We went to this little gem in downtown Garland six days ago, read the reviews here in Google and gave it a try, the service is excellent, place is really clean and inviting,very nice atmosphere.
We ordered migas with chorizo and chicken fried steak, food was cooked fast and great flavor, waitress was always refilling the coffee and very attentive of us, even though we went one hour before closing (some other restaurants are always rushing u..) we really enjoyed our lunch and will definitely go back. Prices are great for the amount of food they give you.

Food is always fresh and amazing! I had an omelette with tomato, cheese, and onions. The side was biscuits and gravy. Waaayyy too much food for 1 person. Staff is always helpful and friendly.

Excellent dishes and outstanding service. All the staff is very friendly and promptu to take your order, bring your dishes or refill your coffee. The exterior looks like and abandoned place, but the interior is shine, clean and new. Whenever i'm in Garland, I'll return to Hubbard"s

Always a delicious spot. First time ordering tamales and was not prepared for how huge they are! With the leftovers I took home I had two additional meals. Coffee was hot, service was sweet, food was fast and delicious. This is definitely a favorite place and we will be back again and again.

This was my first time here. My kids go to a great daycare about 2 blocks away. I pass by this place everyday and finally decided to stop by and check it out. It has a vintage look and feel inside. Not sure of the decade, but I think the memorabilia and wall decor is from the 30s to 50s era. Old coca-cola bottles caps and vintage signage. The service was great. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. And the food was fantastic. The Jim Favorite was delicious!

Lovely establishment and extremely friendly staff. Top notch chicken fried steak as well. They have great lunch special diversity! Very low priced for the service you get. I was also tended to immediately despite it being just after noon during the week. Will go back regularly on my lunch break because I need to try their breakfast as well!

Great food, fast service, and great atmosphere. Good ol diner. Had the chili omelet and it had steam coming off the last bite. How they do that? Trade secret I suppose. They have coffee police that patrol their beat vigorously. So be prepared to be asked at least 2-3 time do you need more coffee.

The food is immaculate, the pancakes and waffles are so thick and very delicious!

Went for the first time today, and will definitely be back again!! The girls have great service, always refilling my coffee, and just overall being attentive, constantly checking on us! The food was delicious and looked amazing. Thank you Mia, Macy, and Katie!

Good & attentive service, good food, reasonably priced. I had really good homemade pork tamales with 2 fried eggs, over easy, cooked exactly as I asked. The refried beans, pan fries & habanero sauce were really good. The food was served fresh and hot. My husband liked his pan fries and scrambled eggs as well. His favorite was the biscuit and gravy. My mom in law really liked her big fluffy pancake. We will be back!

What a neat retro restaurant. It was our first time visiting 6/27. The food is good, the girls are super sweet, but it was SUPER hot inside. The air conditioner must have just gone out. I feel sorry for everyone working, they all looked hot. We took our food home to eat b/c the baby got too hot. We will visit again!

Delicious breakfast made exactly as ordered. Attentive service. Breakfast tamales were huge and perfect mix masa to meat. May have become our favorite place for breakfast!

Used to be a regular at the other Hubbard's. It's been a minute, but visited the Hubbard's in Garland Downtown for breakfast.
As I remember from past visits, the food is good. Quantity is plentiful, service was excellent & timely.
I had the Mijas with ham and substitutions. Grits were a wee bit dry, but adding a dollop of butter fixed it right up.
All came out as ordered. So did my sons Sampler and our to-go.
Good home cooking southern style meals and breakfast.
Always get some side of salsa, its made from fresh peppers and on point.

Usually go Sunday mornings with my mom. The food has always been good, the staff friendly, & it's always clean. You can tell many are regulars by their interactions with the staff. Has a diner feel with a counter to sit at if you wish.

This place is always delicious! Very "small town, everyone knows everyone vibe" with great food! Breakfast is served all day and always cooked to order. The fried and grilled pork chops and chicken breast are amazing! The biscuits are as big as my head!!

I order the Hubbard's special. Pancakes were so good, it didn't need syrup. The good was great! Atmosphere was wonderful! And people are nice and attentive. If you aster looking for a good home cooked meal, here's the place.
