Salado Creek Park

It is likely one of the nicest and largest playgrounds and parks and picnic areas on any base. There is lots for kids to do and plenty of places to sit and relax. Some quiet areas close to a creek and picnic areas all over. More than enough playground space for 50 kids at once there is that much space. There are bathrooms close by, too. There is plenty of parking for super large parties.

Nice park with multiple play equipment structures including wheelchair accessible ones. There are restrooms on site. Cookout areas can be reserved. There is fishing in the creek that runs through with sunfish, spotter gar, and carp. Turtles also frequent the area as well as lizards, snakes, spiders, and squirrels. There are also bats that come out at night.

Very nice park. Lots a tree to provide shade. Great toys on the playground. Took a walk down along the creek. Saw lots of spiders, some turtle and some fish.

I attend a Basura Bash Slashed Trash Community Volunteer Clean Up Event here. I loved the grounds, there is a playground, walking trail, volleyball area and grills. I definitely am glad I was able to help clean up the Creek and park.

Students love this park as a field trip. My team & I combine the park with our environmental staff. The staff comes out & create stations for the students. It's great for fun & learning. The park is huge & can accommodate a great amount of kids.

Beautiful park! Lovely access point to Salado Creek, wildflowers, Spanish moss, picnic areas, and a playground for all ages. Plenty of shade for the warmer months!

Very nice park that is never busy. Watch out for falling trees and branches. That live oak are very old.

The is actually in Fort Sam Houston. We were allowed on base to wait for a funeral at FSH National cemetery. Beautiful, clean, and well equipped.

Hidden gem of a park located on Fort Sam Houston, clean park benches, lots of parking and full standing restrooms plus a fishing spot if you know where to look.

It was fun we did a clean up and there was food and music. Nice park and it is taken care of.

Sons birthday party there. Plenty of things for the kids to do and the parents are able to sit comfortably and relax whikke watching the kids. Win win.
