Boondocks BBQ & Restaurant

me and my fiancé eat here for our valentines dinner and it was so good! they even had a Valentines dessert on the menu, which was also really good! Food came out really fast. very welcoming and friendly, would definitely eat here again!!

Amazing experience! This was our first visit to Boondocks but will certainly not be our last. We arrived shortly before noon on Saturday. There were several open tables. By the end of our meal, people were waiting to be seated. This food is top notch!

We started with an appetizer of Twisted Fried Green Tomatoes. These are thinly sliced green tomato spirals that are battered in cornmeal and deep fried. Served with Ranch Dressing dipping sauce. This was a delightful twist on a southern favorite!

Meals were Boom Boom Fries (fries topped with pulled pork, bbq sauce, shredded cheese and jalapeños. Half Hot Hamburger which is a substantial burger patty topped with cheese, grilled onions and gravy on half of a hamburger bun. Served with one side (fried okra was the choice). And a Rib Plate which was a generous portion of bbq ribs served with two sides… (choice was baked beans and slaw).

Everything was delicious. It is rare to find a meal such as this where everything was spot on, but that was the case here! Food was freshly prepared, service was excellent and the atmosphere was pleasant. We look forward to our next trip soon!

I had the hot hamburger and it is the definition of comfort food! The staff was extremely helpful and nice. The atmosphere was "country" and they had several pictures of local places and things. I am looking forward to visiting again.

The interior tempature was a bit cold but ok. I feel like the BBQ was some the. Most consistent in the county. It was moist hot but not to hot as far as temp went. The sauce was simple but good. Every side I had that day was Very good fries slaw and baked beans . M enjoyed very much enjoyed her meal as well.

Really enjoyed the food and waitstaff.
The bbq was nicely smoked and the sauce was really good.
The ladies waiting on us were very nice and prompt checking on us.
Unfortunately it is very far from our home or we would be back often.

The food is really good, and the portions are great for the main dishes. The dessert in nothing special though. I got a piece of cake and it was all of 4 bites, which I expect more for $3.

Found this place by driving by and what a hidden gem! We started with the fried green tomato’s and that had a spicy homemade dipping sauce that complemented the perfectly fried tomatoes. The brisket and pulled pork were cooked to perfection. Smokey flavor and very juicy. Potato salad, BBQ beans and coleslaw are all excellent and taste like homemade. We finished our lunch with a yummy peach cobbler. And the decor is warm and inviting. We will stop in if we are ever within 50 miles of this place again. And the service was a 10 out of 10.

Their takeout is amazing! The bacon cheeseburger I ordered was the best I’ve had in a long time. Crispy bacon, simply seasoned and perfectly cooked burger patty, nice fresh toppings, and minus the mayo. Just like I asked. 👍🏻 The tater tots and fried pickles were really good too. My husband had the Boondock’s fries and will definitely be ordering them again.

Fresh prepared food always and a very friendly atmosphere. Great family restaurant!

Food was good, staff was friendly.we had fried pickles and I got the ribeye, wife got ribs, it was all good. Can't wait to go back and try more.

Excellent food. They don't serve steaks until 4pm so we had to get other stuff. We would return more frequently but it was a bit too far from Montgomery to be a regular spot.

Always great tasting fresh BBQ. Hamburger steaks are good also with a big baked potato. Catfish is a good choice as well on Friday nights. Very Friendly atmosphere like your at home. Also has outside dining with roof overhead.

went after Halloween tournament in Calera this is def a great place and can handle large groups like us yesterday we sat on patio deck and it was nice! def will be back when im that way!

First we shared the Boon fries for an appetizer. Fries with barbeque pork and cheese. They were fantastic! I had a barbeque sandwich with homemade cold slaw. They were fantastic! My husband had an open chopped steak sandwich with onions and gravy and a side of baked beans that he raved about. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The food is the best in the area! Prepared perfectly , good proportions, served hot. Nice to have standard selections daily accompanied by lunch specials. Nice covered outdoor area and comfortable indoor dining. But the service makes this place outstanding! Ms. Merle is awesome.All the ladies are efficient, friendly, and conscientious. They really want you to have a good experience and they make you feel like you are important. You won't regret eating here! Boondocks should branch out to more places and open more restaurants!

The steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly, the baked potatoe and fried green tomatoes were really good as well. Service was great! We'll be back!

Absolutely Love the Owners They are down to earth good hearted people , who welcomes you makes you feel like family.. The food is great it’s hard to find good ol made from scratch southern food now days but you can find it all here ! And the staff all are welcoming and makes you feel like family and right at home I recommend Boonedocks’s Cafe 100%

The food and service is great! The prices are reasonable and the food came out very quickly. Will definitely be coming back again.

Been coming here since I was a kid and it was then called the brierfield cafe. Food and service is still incredible. 😋
